Mugen Clash - HD ScreenPack for Mugen 1.0 [New Update]

The screenpack is 1280x720. So is the video, click it to see the HI Def version.

I might add another shooting star, and perhaps some twinkling stars in the background. Before I move onto other parts of the screenpack.

That's a concept for the select screen I've come up with in Paintshop. There will be more select boxes, but no more than 150.

Ah yes, that was just something quick I did in Paintshop. In mugen, it will be much more readable.

I'm thinking about changing the title screen. Yay or nay?

Stick with the first one. As far as the select font, change the inside to a brighter color. Good stuff btw.

The font on the select screen is ok but the stage name is a little unreadable.

I will improve the select screen font.

This is the current select screen so far, I haven't made the font for it yet.

Also, I edited the font of the 1st image a bit, improved the image quality (again), and came up with this.

I'm not very fond of the exclamation point being diagonal. I'd rather have it vertical, but taking both lines maybe.

Select screen is a bit simple, lacks something to make it appealing, but can't say what. Yeah, I'm not very useful here, but it's the same with my own WIPs. I'm like "oh, it looks okay, but something is missing, WTF is it ?! >:( :gonk:

I get the same feeling, not sure what else to add. I got multiple shooting stars, also might add some twinkling ones.

EDIT:

Added animated floating asteroids to the select screen.



Also added a couple to the title screen, not sure if I'll keep them...



Credit goes to Djoulz since I borrowed the asteroids from his stage.

Asteroids on select screen are nice. Not sure about them being on the top right side of the title screen though. They don't look as good as the BG and clash a little.

Winquote screen is simple for now, but kinda cool.

I'm not not sure if I'll keep the asteroids on the title screen or not.  They move slowly and go nice with the music.

Update, got custom select screen fonts working.


As you can see, P1 is red and P2 is blue.

Stage select is at the bottom. Since the forum shrank the pic, it's hard to read, but in mugen it looks fine.

That's sexy. I like that font. Now do that with the char select fonts. Keep the outlines blue and red respectively, just make the inside white. Some people's eyes (mine) can't see the font that well

^Thanks, I didn't think of it for the select screen. Gonna test it out..

EDIT: tried it, and the color didn't go well with the BG. I'll leave the select screen font as it is now, it's readable in mugen. The screenshot is just small.

My resolution in Mugen 1.0 is 720, 480 which is still 16:9 aspect ratio, but closer to original mugen resolution, and is capable of using HD screenpacks.
But EVE seems to have a problem, where it has like a small black bar towards the bottom of the window.
And this seems to be based off of EVE.

Hopefully this won't be a problem?

720*480 is not 16:9, that's why. :P SO yeah, it's normal you're getting some black bar at the bottom of the screen.

720*480 is not 16:9, that's why. :P SO yeah, it's normal you're getting some black bar at the bottom of the screen.
Well now.
That seems to fix that problem up.
But dang it I need some vertical room and I need to keep widescreen.

I like the new title screen over the old one. Though as Cybaster may point out, its simple and lacking something. I see that image and I imagine the sun rising over the planet to illuminate it. Not sure if that's in the realm of possibilities but thought I'd share the idea.

Alright, I know I've been changing things in this screenpack like a million times. But, that's what happens when you're experimenting I guess.

I think the last title screen was lacking something, so I am pretty sure I will go with this new one. ::)

Nice logo. Options screen should change though since it has no space references in it. I also agree that the continents are a little out of place.

Dude i am hooked by what this screenpack look like. Dont change what it is now, for me its PERFECT. Just re-work the Select Screen and the Options BG Screen so it flows whit the planet BG's.

Well...First:
The select screen is awesome. You should keep the asteroids In there to spice it up. I would keep the fonts from DJ-Van. As for the screen with the continents, I would change that to some thing that....ya'know.... gets you pumped up for the next match ;) You need to change the continents to something fierce.

OMG, AWESOME SCREENPACK DUDE, I LOVE IT! and I know what is missing, just give it a metallic look to the fonts in the Title Screen and that's it!
