Well, I think his Silver Samurai is superior to mine in pretty much every way. I decided to make a few edits to my liking-Made into 6 button character-Added sweep follow up to Standing hard punch-Added Teleport move from X-men Cota-Annoying intros and extras with winposes removed-Removed strikers-Removed overpowered ai-A few minor fixes here and thereI suck at palettes so I didn't even bother with those.Edit: 5/5/13-Updated for Mugen 1.1a4-Ai activating in arcade mode has been disabledEdit: 5/16/13-removed ai all together. shouldn't activate... i hope...-new big portrait-11 palettes (first 6 from mvc2. One I took from DavisMaximus (the ink one)Edit: 5/18/13-looping error fix-other fixes.http://www.sendspace.com/file/al5kxk
Maybe you still have the original, not the edited one. It works fine for me, its got no strikers and deadly AI anymore.
I managed to fix the ai activation problem when in arcade mode. Now, the only thing I'm clueless to fixing is why the opponent turns black whenever Silver Samurai attacks someone. This bug only seems to occur in Mugen 1.1 Alpha.
Most probably a mugen 1.1 problem, listing the fixes and changes this is a nice edit thought I don“t like that you took out the strikers. The new update is uploaded yet with the fix in the AI activation problem??
Edit: 5/5/13-Updated for Mugen 1.1a4-Ai activating in arcade mode has been disabledAnyone want to make palettes?
As he is now, he can only use one palette. He needs a proper small portrait with his normal palette applied to it, and all of his sprites need to have the "Shared Palette" option checked. For now you could probably just use a cropped sprite for his small port, unless someone wants to do a proper one for you.I also noticed you have a lot of unused sprites in the .sff that could be taken out to lighten the load.
Being one of the few Silver Samurai players out there (though I don't play MvC2 online that much) I have to say, this is pretty damn good! Although you might want to check that he should not connect Crouching Medium Punch to Crouching Heavy Punch for being source in-accurate, or at least to MvC2.
I fixed his small portrait up to work with the palette he has, thanks @Lord Kain for posting those, Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyhttp://www.mediafire.com/?htf5hs373k71jxo^link to the working small portrait if you want itpretty solid character! i dig him man keep it up
@Taybear thanks man, I used one of those for Corntortilas version of silver samurai too, tho this version could really use some palettes... also, what is up with that spamming dr doom that comes out when you fight against him? its pretty annoying anyway of disabling that?
They look fine based on your thread. Having some trouble getting them to load in mugen though. Same goes with the portrait. I'm only familiar with editing SFF's via MCM. lol. Probably outdated these days.
No idea what mcm is haha, use fighter factory 3! it's what i use and everything is working perfectly on my end!
For anyone still having problems, try doing this until he gets an official fix:-Set this as his default (first) palette.-Use Taybear/Lord Kain's small portrait, and replace the old one with it. It should still be the very first sprite in the .sff.-Make sure the "Shared Palette" box is checked on all of his normal sprites. I believe sprite 0,0 or 0,1 didn't have it checked off.-Get rid of the .act file labeled "MvsC2_SilverSamurai_001" as that's for the old small portrait.

Violin Ken said, May 17, 2013, 06:55:22 amSorry, url error. it's fixed now. This is really a good edit man. I liked what the original author did but I fekt the same way u did about all the other stuff. Glad someone took the time to do this.I was thinking about something also.... I think it would also awesome to add in his Bushin Shadows attack that he had from XCOTA....I'm assuming this would be close to what Yang has in his hyper in Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike but I'm not sure.... Anyway just a thought...
Tried to use him in watch mode just to check out the AI and i get this errorError message: State machine stuck in loop (stopped after 2500 loops): 0 for Silver SamuraiCheck your states for infinite ChangeState loops.Im assuming it's because you removed the ai? idk
No, it seems it's because of the palfx.add/mul/sin in statedef -2 in MvsC_SilverSamurai-2.cns. I'm not sure how to make the palfx work in mugen 1.1 without that chunk of code. It doesn't seem like the helpers are triggering the palfx otherwise. NVM... solved it. Will upload fix in a bitEdit: Fix now uploaded. Sorry about that.
