JonTron is now replaced by someone called "Danny", JonTron has other things to do in life.
R.I.P Game Grumps, Danny isn't funny at all.

Didn't know if to put this in the Random Thread or make a thread by itself, knowing not alot of people like Game Grumps, I put it in this section instead of the Entertainment section.
If I can't be the best, I sure as hell can be the worst.

Jontron may have been good at times, but he sounded overly forced on his end. I don't mind Danny, I actually like his attitude, goes better with Ego.

I don't see the problem with replacing Jon on the show, I actually stopped watching them after awhile (nothing will top chis pitza) because I was getting sick of Jon's BLEAH IKEACH random wacky noise thing that he does. The dynamic of the show is going to change, sure, but don't discredit a guy for no reason. I think he's pretty funny.

He won't last long with Sonic 06, IIRC it was Jon playing it more than Arin.

Still, It'll be good that Jon will focus more on JonTron's now, that's the best news out of Jon leaving.

I watched it and liked it, he goes well with Arin. He also appears to know what he's talking about. So again what do you mean?

Let's hope he's not like Jon where he purposely tries to lose in a game he doesn't like.

I feel like Danny is one of those "Obvious Gamers" I'm not saying he's going to kill Game Grumps but Jon still has a really big place in my heart for them.
I just can't really get into the changes, probably why I don't find Danny that great until I find something that'll make him a "Grump"

I'm probably not really going to be watching them anymore, even though Jon wouldn't stop coughing or saying alot of Dick jokes, I still found him funny anyway.

At the same time, I hope they don't take the games too seriously like Jon and Arin didn't (Except Nickelodeon Guts)

He looks like it, he is wrecking Punch-Out. Jon's "good at games" had him getting owned. He atleast appears to pay more attention.

I don't think they just randomly got soemone else, both Jon and Arin probably made sure Danny would fit in, he appears to solve the "bad at games" problem at the moment.

Well, he didn't knock Don Flamenco down the second time with 4 left body blows. He didn't know how to knock down King Hippo. He doesn't know you can block and counter Great Tiger's first set of punches. He doesn't know that you're supposed to counter the punches your opponent throw with punches from the same side to do more damage to them(he uses the alternating method most of the time).

If that's a showing of how good he is with one of his favorite games, he's about the same as JonTron(see Banjo Kazooie).

I wouldn't notice this because I've never really seen much Punch Out footage before. let alone anyone popular that plays it.

I watched a few of their episodes, the only one that really stood out to me was the one where they played a Mary-Kate and Ashley game. Ignoring that, and from what few episodes I watched, JonTron has his moments but Egoraptor is more consistent.

Although to be fair, I usually don't watch an episode unless Jmorphman links me to it, or it shows up on my "recommended for you" list on Youtube and I have nothing better to watch.

But during their lets plays on switcher its not like that consistently, instead they're talking about the game and even discuss elements from it, during their Homecoming playthrough they even got quotes from some of the devs they know that were apart of it.

But that's pretty much anything JonTron in a nutshell.

I find Two Best Friends Play (and sometimes Woolie (<3)) funner to watch because it seems more... informative and more natural dickery. They'll throw in a lot of tidbits that aren't too common and stick with that information, like with composers and shit.
Last time I watched Game Grumps and Ego was serious when talking about Akira Yamaoka, Jon just started his LOL SO RANDUMB XD shouting and it broke whatever interest I had. Like I personally know Pat and I don't like him (lol fucking P4A launch, Louis CK looking motherfucker, etc.), but he is a cool guy overall for people who like obscure shit, and he and Matt do a good job showing their love for vidyagaems.

Not to say that I didn't find GG funny when synergy was had. Fucking Nintendoland. That was the realest shit. Just that... *sigh*

I thought it would work like their actual works on Youtube. A little sequelitis type stuff from Ego, some in depth things from Jontron. It never happened, especially later on. Last episode I watched of theirs was the Konami Super Smash type brawler.

chipcheezum is another one I love to watch for informative LP's and I do mean informative. I can't believe I learned so much new shit about some later MG games. Guy also plays damn near flawlessly and is willing to take multiple takes to get just the right footage.

This is based on qualitative analysis of ONE new episode only. I kinda stopped watching GameGrumps after getting irritated with JonTron mugging the mic so damn bad(I'm sorry man but can you stop just yelling for no reason and breaking into random songs?). Sure, this guy kinda broke out into like, one song joke, which was only mildly irritating, thankfully. So I was like "new guy, let's see if this gets any better or worse." Out of morbid curiosity, I checked it out. This guy did a few things I appreciate, for one.
- Chemistry with Egoraptor was good.
- Didn't yell or mug the mic, only real vocal increase was minute in substance compared to JonTron. Unless it was loud laughter, but that's appropriate because it is what it is.
- Knew a lot about Punch Out and its earliest roots as an arcade game before an NES game.
- Actually played the damn game properly(so far) and didn't choke much beyond forgetting a few patterns and flubbing a bit, not knocked down once and caught up to the pace with most of the fighters(this might not say much because he hasn't even reached Bald Bull yet, but it' feels like a substantial improvement)

Yeah this new guy is "terrible." Personally I think this is easily watchable as of now, unless this guy takes over as JonTron v2 and mugs the mic, in which case I'll revoke this statement.
This is all qualitative and strictly a comparison, I'll see if this new guy manages to work well enough with Egoraptor to be entertaining, which is easily possible.

Jon should just find a job as a cartoon/videogame voice actor.
I mean he has the vocal range.

I like what he does solo too. Game Grumps always felt more like "what if two funny voice guys had a podcast" more than "two dudes play videogames."

Maybe Egoraptor might appear in some of his new JonTron's since him and Ego have grown a non-gay Relationship during Grumps.
*I know that Ego does help in his latest JonTron's but hasn't had a visual appearance yet

It feels like Arin just threw in the new guy in an attempt to please fans and keep the show going. But I haven't watched the show with Danny quite yet, so I don't know what he's like. I hope he reads something for once, unlike Jon and Arin.

But yeah, Game Grumps was dropping in quality as of recent anyway. But they were very competent and paid a lot of attention to the games when they started and for a while after that.

They were not very competent, pretty much ever. Also, Danny is hilarious and has reignited my interest in Game Grumps (and he's at least decent at video games). Steam Train is funny too. All these changes were for the better, imo.

Tried an episode of the new one and one with Jon. I watched another episode with Danny as I was enjoying what I was seeing and the fact that they gave a shit as to what was happening on screen. With Jon they hardly pay attention to what's going on at all, they go off into side conversations that don't matter and frankly aren't entertaining at all. Also... 106 parts on Sonic 06? Jeez, that's just awful. Guess I'll try Steam Train, I hear nothing but bad things about it but I'll try to judge that for myself.

IMO, Steam Train is pretty good. Though I felt the first Hotline Miami vid was a bit slow, their Castle Crashers one was good.

Saw it, not bad, not shit, has potential. Overall yeah channel seems a lot nicer now.

I watched one of the new videos. Danny seems alright so far, but I think Arin and Jon had better chemistry.
On the upside,  with Danny they paid more attention to the game. But with only a few videos so far, it's hard to tell whether if this will be really good or not. Steam Train is promising, since they're playing PC games. Perhaps we could see a few doujin games on there at some point(Jon and Arin did a Game Grumos VS video of Arcana Heart, so anything is possible).

Still gonna miss Jon, though. The Game Grumps intro doesn't sound the same without him.

Would choosing me for the question thread be a
unique experience?  I can't really say.
