Onikage is battle ready and I will be showing a video probably later on today.

video is a tag team match onikage and grey fox.

Gameplay
Like tenchu onikage does not punch and focusses on lots of kick flurrys.
second characteristic is his evasive moves
onikage also has multiple fakes and stances

Trivia
since there is no blood in this game onikage will not be able to perform his blood shower move from tenchu 3. the one where he axe kicks the spurs on his boots into the opponents throat and showers himself in the spraying blood.

but he does have the move where he impales his arm threw the opponents gut and drinks there blood to regain life. only in this one there is no blood.

he is able to restore his life by drinking healing potion as well, but it can be knocked out of his hands and taken by the opponent. (well anyone since the potion is flagged as effect team too)




screens

pay no attention to the crappy default hit sprites on unknown those have all now been changed, my teammate managed to create some pretty cool looking new fx.



Offtopic the new FX and hitsparks for our versus project




I've also found a new way to do fx  that works pretty damn effectively. works well for things like focus attacks or pandora modes.

thats because naruto seem to have a nasty habit of stealing character designs from tenchu, kakashi=rikimaru and i have seen some guy on there who looks and acts like onikage.

yeh i got them, but i was banned before I could reply and tell you that I hated  the design. That elongated head looked ridiculous, the literal meaning of a "dick head".  but yeh the design for him looked weird and had too much WTF factor.

thanks, i wouldnt say improved though, I normally do not put in the same amount of effort in mugen related stuff then i do with my university stuff or my portfolios.

Interesting!! I looked at the title not even realizing who you were referring to. And BAM!! It's Onikage from Tenchu. Awesome.

Remembering his boss battles, I'm automatically concluding that 80% of his attacks will be kick oriented, right?? What you have shown us looks wicked sweet. I'm looking forward to the video!!

Come to think of it, my buddy Drew once had a hamster called Onikage....

yeh the majority of his attacks are slash/spinning kicks.

onikage is a badass name for a hamster. oni=demon kage=shadow. doesnt get anymore badass then that.

just finished onikage's bicycle kick. had to watch my flat mate hurt himself over and over again doing this so I could animate it right  >:D

I really hope Ayame and Rikimaru follow this Id sette for Ayame though :P. I mean it would make sense to have at least one of the heroes in this right since you have the villain?

Just an idea also any progress on Brian Furry?

If I remember correctly, he did add Rikimaru on the list of characters for this project, so he'll be meeting up with Onikage, I'm sure.

Speaking of, Onikage is looking damn wicked here. I love his bike kick, it looks full of flow.

My only issue with him is the load of purple rings on his right hand.
Maybe you can change it to a semi transparent fire so it's more like the aura he had in Tenchu 3.
Of course, I get that you might be deep into finishing Onikage, and changing the sprites for one effect could be a major setback.

Still, this is turning out to be pretty amazing. Kudos, MAVERIK.

oh about the purple thing around his arm I am layering  fire FX over it, so it will lool like aura emitting around the circles. You'll see it in the video i will upload soon

Overall, looks nice. Onikage definitely looks badass.

Some little things form the video (for Onikage) :
- Please add a velset X=0 in the landing state, because your chars really slide too much when landing, which feels really unnatural.
- His kick throw, where he lifts the opponent with his foot, has the opponent that moves a little when up in the air on Onikage's foot. The bindings need some work.
- What I believe is his s.LK has very strange animation IMO. He lifts one foot at low/mid height, while the rest of the body (other leg and torso) don't move at all. As it's a light attack, i understand there isn't so much motion, but I believe the way the animation is set up really makes it lack impact.
- I see part of the effects are already well in place. For specials and dash attacks, would really be nice if you added some smoke FX on the ground. Would give more impact and look nicer too, as well as making people understand better it's a special. Would feel more polished too.

-the light kick animation is fine. Dunno where you saw an animation with the torso not moving.

the LK is the first animation in this gif that strikes at the opponents legs.
-dash FX and so fourth will be added too.

correct, the attack is supposed to be a poke, its actually a set up to onikage's mid to axe kick. He uses the same leg for both moves. the kick to the leg has low velocity so that he can then switch to mid axe kick in a single motion. a good example is baek from tekken who has a similar poke move.

I'm waiting for a mvc patch edit that works to the fullest one that you won't have to press f3 for at the start of every round it gets annoying plus wanna turn my laptop with the busted screen into a mugen systerm  just have to plug it up to tv and play with two Xbox remotes   ;P
