Project sweat is a 2D ARPG to be released on Windows, Mac & Linux. The game aims to perfectly blend an addictive, challenging & fast pace combat system in a seamless multi-layered environment, with every single piece of content in the game being sprites. We're giving you 3 truly unique characters to play with in this beautiful world, and when we say unique, we mean it, each character will have its own play style, reminiscent of different game titles and genres.

Ok, it's not a huge thing, but when making my 'dream game' I can't thank everyone/everything which influenced decisions enough, but one way I thought of doing so is to pay tribute to things that have affected my life so far. One of the things (and the reason I got into fighting games) is the infamous video of Daigo Vs Justin at evo '04. as a tribute to that particular event, the game will have an achievement like feature, where if you say defeat a miniboss with 1hp, you unlock an item etc and the achievement title 'Lets Go Justin!'

It may not be amazing or special, but it's a way for me to thank/acknowledge/nod to the event & SF3. So, I want to somehow do the same for Mugen but I don't know how to best represent mugen etc so any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. =]

Oh my, asymmetrical sprites? That'll be tough to do I'm betting, but it'll make it more unique. It is strange how some characters just flip completely around (here Sagat, lemme adjust your scar so it runs diagonally that way, and I'll flip your eyepatch on over to your other eye...there you go buddy!) in actual games, so this is going to be unique (if a lot of work, especially if you're doing this for enemies and NPCs as well o_O;

I wish you the best of luck on this bro.  Those sprites are looking super sexy right now~

Thanks man, yeah I plan to do asymmetrical designs for as many characters/creatures/pets/bosses as possible. If you think that's a lot of work you should see the planned stretch goals, it'll multiply the amount of work by a silly amount lol

Thanks again, If ya have any ideas on how to represent mugen/ the mugen community, please let me know. I thought it would be kl to put wild tengu in there or cyanide (i've been missing from mugen for years so I only remember people from MFG from around that time...)

Honestly, any ideas you may have throw them my way =]

Hmm....Tengu should be a tengu dude. :V

I don't know, I'm rusty on ideas atm lol. And I don't want to give elaborate ideas because this is already going to be one hell of a project as it is. ^^;

I think he's been gone for a long time now. I haven't heard heads nor tails of the guy. I...honestly don't know who's still around from when you were around more often.

You could have KFM as a hidden boss. (Ex. in a stage, having a certain item to find a secret path to the Mountain Temple.) You could also have some of the users from MFG as background characters. That's all I have for ideas at the moment. This is coming along nicely though. I wish you good luck!

KFM of course, the default char and stage that comes with mugen lol Thank you so much, that sounds great. The problem with the other part is, I only remember a few MFG users, but don't even know who's around and who's gone.

Well, I know for a fact that Rajaa is around. Pretty sure Cyanide is too. Hien is obvious. Don't even know that xvynx myself, or bloodriotiori.

I'm totally not around :V

I thought cyanide left or something cause I saw some kinda thread regarding him...quitting or something.

bloodriotiori for his riot ken and gouken...! oh speaking of his gouken, alexlexus i remember.
xvynx for his evil ryu, violent ken and... bah it probably doesn't even matter what names i remember i'll just listen to the people who suggests things etc. So far I really like that KFM idea =]

  • does this look like the face of mercy?
looks really cool mate, if you are going for tributes to people i would suggest awards like "cyanide.blooded"
If you want to go for mugen itself , things like "taste the kung fu palm" or "master of a thousand mugen fists" when performing a specific move for the first time.

Sounds good, I especially like the achievement names. I'm not limited to using only one of the ideas listed so if it's ok, if i use your ideas in the game I wish to also find a way to give credit to you so I will more than likely contact you when it's sprited/coded.

Erroratu - First few screenshots I honestly thought it was dynasty warriors (google images) but the more I see the more interesting it looks, many thanks for that - i'll be checking it out. also, the hometown houses many things that i've not listed here; there was a huge amount of text and I only copied what I thought may be interesting to this forum, leaving more than 50% of it out. =]

I have afew ideas but they work more off a what if than a will do.

-If you have classes they can be labelled "Rush Down","Mixup/Cross up" character for example.(idk the pro names for them all)
-Allow players to switch their play style with their character(similar to FF13 or Melty Blood) and level each up seperately to grow better in that direction.
-Allow players to choose if they want their equipment to show for style reasons.

Thats all my suggestions xD sorry if it sounds like too much.I'm new here but I hope I can help you in some way.Goodluck.

I manage to get inta contact with BRI, he seems to be doing well =]

Thank you phantasm wolf, I was a little confused with your post but going over them now
-I won't be having class, just 3 characters who will play Very differently. but they'll most likely be seen as 'warrior, ranger/thief & mage.
-sadly I haven't played both games, so I don't quite know what ya mean exactly, but that does sound like our mage.
-the third point i completely understand thanks to maplestory (lol) but with the way i'm spriting and the amount, aside from the weapon, I doubt i'd be able to do anything major unless it's accessories like glasses/guantlets etc.

Don't worry, any and all suggestions are welcome and appreciated =], and if you think that's too much work, wait till ya see what's planned for all the visuals.

Just commenting to me, is helping me out, it shows interest in this project at the very least. You could do the same and follow/like our FB page (www.facebook.com/humidgames) =]

I'll hopefully be able to update the 1st post soon with more material, images and info as we hope to launch our kickstarter campaign soon.

We do, but we have other problems we must take care of first & do not want to risk waiting to see if the campaign would be successful or not.

We're just working at a much slower pace =/ the game Will be made

Just a little eh? lol. But hey, you have someone else working with ya, so at least there's that! Then again...with your game, you kinda need more than one person working on the thing. ^^;;
