Also, there's no need of coder yet, you can continue spriting Ran and later release the spritepack, so there'll be people interested in your work that would like to convert her into a MUGEN char ;)

Well testing with just making animated gifs are good enough to see how the character would move. We all know that in mugen it would be a lot faster. Just worry about spriting right now, if you start to think of other things (like i have been doing) it would make you stop and we all dont want to see that lol

Now this project is needing colorists
to aply KOF XII-XIII style palets in the sprites :S
i draw a concept for portrait
and now i'm working in the sprites with 3 colors each ton
in KOF XII-XIII have 7... so if anyone want to help
is only add the other 4 colors in the sprites ;)

No, he's "updating" the style  ::). Yes, I know you're referring to him using the old KoF/Snk style at first, and now changing it, but his style is KoF (and KoF XIII is the current KoF <_<)




I'm doing stuff to that sprite right now, but I think you should post that and other stuff at the graphics, more people would notice it if it was there.

Can you post the render(s) that you made for those sprites, and what is the model from? (I'm thinking that's a Daz model)
I can help with the style, more or less. I don't really understand what you're asking for, but I'm willing to help however I can (Artistically. I can code, but that's not what I'm trying to do)

after long time stoped i will have a year with some free time...
and i want to try learn about animations, anda if possible, finish this wip

the future sprite edition, if i try do it without bases for edit, really no will have the result i wanted

Glad to see you're back, but I think the proportions are more then a little off here.




When did she wear that red & black outfit?

But it gives me an idea, her main outfit is a bit plain, why not add that dragon to the back, and one leg via smart pal? Seporate the pants color as well, with the 3D program you're using it'll help you keep track of them as well.

I wouldn't use that kick bro.

You might want to watch a few videos featureing female martial artists, not just for the movements, but the form the moves take when preformed by women.

Plus some of these ladies come up with things you might not have seen before.

You started this WIP with 200+ sprites in old school KOF, using a 3D model for the base, thats what I've been trying to do for years (PC is to old) If I may ask, why did you change your mind?

A bit to much jiggling, you and I both like to draw, that said, it's best not to cut corners. The 'Copy paste' way of doing things may work for beginners, but we both know you're better, plus you're working with a 3D program.

I'd add more movement to the legs and 2 more frams to the arms.

now that's really cool, you should post the other 3 standar cameras too (back view side view and top view), as of now the only thing i can say is that the arms look skinny but that might not even be true depending on the top view.

It could also use bigger feet and wider ankles. The result is very interesting, it can be made to look close enough to actual oldschool KOF art with a few tweaks.

for now... this is the reason for i no post in the last days
i'm doing Sheila, the girl of left
she is a model for me and maybe a striker for some moves of Ran or the next character....
now i no need convert 3d render in pixel art full manually...
the poser will give me a pixel art in the correct aspect and resolution, and i will finish it...
i will use the next days to adapt Ran for the new develop method

There is a program called "Blender" that works well, it's 100% free too. The problem I was having is my PC was/is to weak to run it, simply make the 'model' 4X bigger, and pose how you wish.-



Right down to the butterfly on her hip ;)

Dude, all you have to do is shrink the sprite down by 50% after making it, that and the pallet will do the rest.

Additionally, and with respect, just because you've never done it, dosn't mean it can't be done.

these methods generate many imperfections and always need adjustment, do not work on low resolution,
but you can make high-resolution sprites with these means if I want
this is the maximum of blender can do... no is enought, but if anyone wants... mey do a char with this
is very much fast to do the sprites in this means

This looks like a good method to start. I would just make sure your lighting is completely correct before you go any further.

The lighting looks a bit off in your most recent sprite.

is necessary to verify light, proportion, color palette and everything else
before starting to make several sprites
But definitely do not know if I'll make sprites with this method, but if anyone is interested I create a topic with a complete tutorial

Yes

Make sure your colors won't get mixed up, like dark pink can be mistaken for red if character has both colors. You'll have to clean things up a bit, never save the images as jpg. Bmp or PNG's will work. It saves loads of time. That trick only seems to work with FFC, FF3/FFU can't do things like that, maybe it's a glitch with the program, but it's a helpful one.

If you want, I can help you.

What kind of rig and program are you using? I can only give "technical" help with Blender; any other program like 3ds Max/Maya/Cinema 4d/etc/etc, I could only give theoretical help, meaning I explain in simple words how you "may" be able to do something without knowing "how".

Did you make a 3d model of Diana, or did you take some other mesh and draw over it?

I made a 3D model of Diana and a pallet containing only the colors needed. Took a screen shot (it's faster that way) reduced the image by 50% and cleaned it up from there.

It's far from perfect (Feet & Boobs to big, brown blob on her hair) but it works.

Much, Much better.

As for the second animation, why not a simple Batman/Bruse Lee style backhand with her left? Crossing over makes it look a bit like a HP.

Just an idea

Do you plan to implement  'flow physics' on her top? it might make things tricky, but hey thats half the reason she's dressed like that right? ;)

I'm pretty sure the model needs more adjustments to make the renders look like the original sprite design.

In sprite form she looks pretty damn tall and big all around. You made her model too slim, and her boobs ENORMOUS. That's pretty typical when people want to make an "attractive" woman just give her huge breasts, without paying attention to the other curves in the female anatomy, like a small belly, hip bones protruding in the front, hips (look at Mortal Kombat's characters, ugh)

You can still make her look damn legit in low res if you adjust the model a bit ;)

i finally found the better way to develop textures for auto "sprite"
i finish the skin of the Hi ress version
i'm doing this cause i will make the 2 versions
in the same time (bases)
cause i can import the position and the animations of the models
