I originally only wanted to make my MvC edit of DG's Ryu better.
So I looked toward PotS' Ryu for guidance, and began to see the many flaws that my original edit had.
While re-coding the MvC edit, I went ahead and made a PotS-esque version of a SF3 Ryu too.
Just thought I'd share him as well.

This new edit has been completely revamped.
Ryu now plays a bit more like MvC2/MvC3, his forward High Kick can chain into Specials, normal attacks can't.
He's still a 6 button character, so not every Light,Medium,Heavy attack will chain back and forth into each other.
Ryu now has only 3 Supers, Shinkuu Hadouken, Shinkuu Tatsumaki (both lvl 1) and a Level 3 Shin-Shoryuuken.

Sure. The Hyper Spark still looks cut off if you activate it while P2 is above you, and the Special Dust, I just set it at a negative sprpriority (it looks odd at a postive one), but that's about the only things I didn't really like... Also I forgot I was using my own screenpack with custom portraits so I went ahead and re-uploaded them with correct ones.

Gave the CvS edit a test.  Keep in mind that I'm particularly nitpicky about Ryu...I've only been using him for 20 years now.   8)

-The wrong portrait defined for non-custom portrait lifebars.
-Shinkuu Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku start-up frame looks...strange. Maybe I'm just used to the frame traditionally used as its startup, but seeing Ryu frozen in the superpause with his leg up looks just a little awkward.
-F+MK attack...hmm. Not sure if it feels right using U+HK sprites. I think using frames from Tatsumaki might achieve a closer look/feel to the original SFA version of it.
-No EX Hadouken?
-Nitpick: technically, QCFx2+K (the dashing elbow into a Shoryuken) isn't a Shin Shoryuken; it's called Nidan Shouryuu Tsuki. :)
-Standing/crouching basics feel a bit chunky. It feels like there is a delay right after the anims end before the player regains control.  It might just be me, though.
-Since you mentioned you were going for a POTS feel, perhaps including Super Cancels could make it more reminiscent of a POTS creation.

Those are pretty much my issues with the CvS edit.  Having never played with DG's original version, I can't compare all the changes personally, but I do like what you've done so far. :)

Oh hell yeah...you are back at it! :D

Does he still teleport like Akuma in the MvC version?..cuz I never really liked that in the first place, unless you were to make him like his MvC "Complete Change" version. :/

Anyways, its just a nitpick of mines...I still love your previous edits on this character so I will definitely be checking this one out.

Also, I could just drool over those new HR FX.  ;P

It was either that, or have him suspended in mid-air during the Superpause. The first frame looked too funky for me, and considering it's a Superpause.. it works.

There were just too many frames to use the Tatsumaki kick, I opted for the latter. I did go back and make his Stand anim before he kicks look smoother though.

I wanted the SF3 frames to look as smooth as possible, and there are more of them, so it's a bit Chunky Looking.

I removed the parries, the teleports, air dash, charges, etc. and made him alot more MvC2/MvC3-ish, with only 3 supers, normal attacks, an Overhead and a Stand Forward High Kick, as well as the Super Jump and Hyper BG's.

- Can't chain from weak into heavy attacks
- His combo system feels a bit strange. I think you should make everything like it was before in terms of comboing into specials and supers.

0 for 2 on Super Cancels Today. Ryu can now Super Cancel from all specials into Shinkuu Hadouken.Also Shinkuu-Tatsumaki can be Canceled into a Shinkuu-Hadouken now.

I did this on purpose to make him more MvC3-ish. You can chain normals into his Stand Forward High Kick, to chain into Specials, which can now chain into Supers....

Yup. Never mind about that, I saw that it was actually activated with a HCF+2P instead of QCF+2P.  I just came across another issue with it: misses at close range right next to the opponent.  It's probably more of an issue with characters that don't have wide hitboxes, though.

I just came across another issue with it: misses at close range right next to the opponent. 

I actually forgot to add the Width controller from the Hadouken state to the EX Hadouken state.. my bad.. Link Updated. Thanks for all the nifty feedback too, I appreciate it.

POTS Ryu can't do that and I just tested it in SSF4 and yeah, I was wrong so ignore that.

This was before the updated patch so these might already be fixed.

It's a good character overall, I like it :)

Why would you want to link anything else after the opponent is already knocked down by cr.HK? He's not Gouki to link Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku, and this isn't MAHVEL BABY where you can combo off the ground. Like you said, CVS Ryu.

Nope.Just forgot to remove the movecontacts.FIXED

Added a trigger to the CMD so you can't use Supers after you win.

My fault. Bad Clsn in state 5030.Also made the Shinkuu Hadouken Clsn a bit larger.FIXED.

You can't do LP > MP > HP, thats what I meant, Crouching LK > MK > HK was a linking combo which shouldn't happen, Get it now? D:

It was a mistake on my behalf. I left in some movecontact triggers whilst testing.. Also updated links again.. fixed the width on CvS Ryu's Shinkuu-Hadouken and fixed the Glass Break on gethit for MvC Ryu.. ENJOY!!

Tested MvC version.

-Chaining seems weird since he can do X - A - Y - Z - C, but not X - A - Y - B. Also he can't chain into Z/Standing Fierce from X/Jab, he has to go into Y/Standing Strong in order to chain. This is also the case with his C/Roundhouse.
-Can not chain into his launcher from any other basic move.
-Apparently Shoryuken can only hit on animelems 5 and 6. Animelem 7 has Ryu's fist extended, but not hitboxes. Kinda feels weird since with other Ryus, you can still hit opponents with a Shoryuken until Ryu starts turning around. Here's a picture for a better understanding.

-Shoryuken startup is pretty slow at 7 frames (Which is when the first hitbox appears). Compare this to PotS' Ryu, where the first hitbox on his Shoryuken comes out in 3 frames. Unless, you wanted it that way.
-Can't cancel into special moves from Ground Normals except for Fwd+C.
-Most MvC characters are able to cancel into specials/supers even if the normals whiff. The only time where I can actually cancel into supers when whiffing something is his Shinkuu Hadouken and Shinkuu Tatsumaki if you threw a Hadouken beforehand.
-Overhead can't be canceled into anything. Which sucks, since the move leaves you at an 8-frame disadvantage.
-Ryu can keep on throwing Air Hadoukens in the air repeatedly. Put a variable for limiting spamming midair special moves (MvC3 does this; you can only perform 3 special moves in the air)
-And for some weird reason, B, D, DB + 2 kicks is required to perform the Shinkuu Tatsumaki instead of D, DB, B.

FIXED the Chaining so you can go from SMP into SMK, instead of how I had it (SMK into SMP).
Same with Crouching.Jab to Strong now works.

Ryu doesn't normally cancel out of his Overhead. At least I thought...

Couldn't Figure out how to limit the amount of Helpers you can call out, so now he can't fire a hadouken while another hadouken is on screen.

You can put a limit by setting a variable (Something like varadd) when the move is performed. Afterwards, you can put a trigger condition on the move in your cmd, something like this;

As for the overhead, I'm unsure if Ryu could cancel his overhead in MvC. It's up to you though if you want him to cancel out of it or not.

I think in UMvC3 he can cancel out of it, so for now I made it just like his other Command Attack (fwd+c), you can cancel into a Special or a Super but not back into a Normal attack...

If you find anything else odd or have any other suggestions, I'd truly appreciate your feedback.. I rather enjoy your MvC Zero and it's obvious you know way more about the mechanics of the Versus series than I do.. Thanks again!

I've really enjoyed playing Ryu! Actually all The Ryu that KBN made was great...it matched my taste. I would it be possible for a parry move to created in his move list? I'll understand if not, I'll keep track of the updates
