Jesus fucking christ those cameos just made me feel uncomfortable except for like Craig 'cause he's handsome.
Plus, I thought Jaleel's off-kilter interpretation of modern Sonic oddly matched how jerky his animation was in general and how faker it felt than everything else.

I don't know how to feel. Part of me had fun, but the rest just felt kinda' violated. Robotnik was fucking professional though. LOVED him.

All things considered, I liked it.  Sonic's mouth movements and lines could have been improved though.

Oh god, this is just really cringeworthy. :-\

those terrible spines on Sonic, Jaleel White's voice sounding so... old, that acting, those effects...

The models looks mostly nice, but their integration with the environment is terrible and so is their interaction with anything live-action. And even the interaction between models is terrible too. Although Robotnik was pretty cool I guess.

So wait, Sonic runs around in the real world forest on South Island, then discovers a computer generated, lush tropical area full of green hills? That's totally jarring, to say the least. And what the hell was up with Knuckles appearing at the end?

As bad as this was, I still kinda enjoyed it.

I just found myself laughing at the clashing CGI and the random cameos from Doug, James, Brentalfloss, Stuttering Craig and Ian from Smosh (Probably more people too, but I mostly noticed those guys). Also, it's weird seeing Knuckles with visible fingers. Big props to the guy who played Robotnik though. He was definitely the best actor in the film.

By the way, it's funny a fan film still managed to be better than Dragonball Evolution.

I know it's something you can do in the games, but Sonic bouncing from enemy to enemy looked stupid as hell.

Also have these guys never heard of mocap suits and post-production? It looked so bad to see Doug Walker attempt to like he was getting yanked up and thrown down. At least he kept his damn mouth shut.

Also if they actually do make a Sonic movie, that Robotnik needs to be in it.

By the way, it's funny a fan film still managed to be better than Dragonball Evolution.
What does this movie even have to do with Dragonball Evolution? Is that the new "Still a better love story than Twilight?"

I think it's more of a problem with their 3D animation than the actual bouncing.

  • Wherever theres chaos, I'll be there.
Quick review.

I'll admit that this has the same quality as a SY-FY movie, but atleast they got Sonic's personality and voice right and the story is somewhat a good idea that could work.

And even though everyone's acting is abit hammy, but for Robotnik it works well.

With some polish and a good acting coach, it could be better.

But that's Sonic's original voice actor! In the cartoon anyway. I wish Jahleel White didn't indulge this internet celebrity jerk-off and did more MEGA SHARK VS (INSERT GIANT ANIMAL HERE) movies

White doesn't really sound the same as Sonic. But it's been over a decade so it's to be expected.

Robotnik is probably the only reason to look at this.

Though I will commend them for at least trying.

Seriously though I always thought that was Jaleel in the OVA my whole life lol learned something new I guess lol

But yeah Jaleel doesn't seem to fit modern sonic imo neither lol

Roger craig- sounded too old imo
Jason griffith- sounded more like a pre-teen sonic(Even though sonic is technically 16 I think lol)
ryan drummonds- Oh hell yes(Me being a huge adventure series fanboy lol)
Jaleel- sounds like a very young sonic(Which is good but doesn't fit this sonic)

So I'm guessing I'm the only one who enjoyed Jaleel's voice work?

Writing didn't strike me as anything really terrible, specially for a fan production. Hell, some of Sonic's dialogue sounded like it was lifted straight from one of the newer games.
