Well you probably wont believe this but I actually went through 5 diff versions of edited sprites due to color issues at the last moment but I believe it ended up really nice.. here are some comparison pics, enjoy!!!

jejeje, right now I'm gonna fix some sprite giganticism in evil ryu's intro and hyper tornado kick, after that I'm still deciding but those are good choices... maybe I'll do green ranger as I already agreed to do it. oh by the way, I might edit sevil's palletes to add color to the fx but not sure if I will yet.

ok...i love the green ranger and all....but akuma would kick tommys ass, even when he was the evil ranger. shun goku satsu!!! then he would kidnapp the pink ranger and have his way with her. god she was hot. the yellow ranger was in the crow2 city of angels topless...

i think that is a awsome idea, i have never seen anyone do this stuff, i think it should be done by everyon to all there chars. i would  do it to all mine but i dont know a damn thing about coding or char editing. :'(   p.s. i voe for akuma!!! mabey sf3 shin akuma...

just by the screens alone it looks like all you did was run the sprites through filters...thats it...

theres actually a LOSS in detail. if it were actually hi-res their would be more detail, not less

thats...really not hi-res...at all...

just by the screens alone it looks like all you did was run the sprites through filters...thats it...

theres actually a LOSS in detail. if it were actually hi-res their would be more detail, not less

if hi res or not...looks WAY better. no jaggies, and smooth pallets...dont hate! this dude is doing something no one else will for people like me who cant do it for themselves. i compared them in mugen hi res with the original counterparts, the originals looked like garbage compared to his.  THANK-YOU!!!! DONT LISTEN TO THE HATERS!!!

heh heh...to the common man...(ahem) me, it is really hard for me to see that stuff. i think that even if the stuff is off, the ken and ryu look awsome. i can deal with the off pixels when i look at the old one.

wish it was that easy, If I did it your way you wouldn't have to look for the misplaced pixels they'd be everywhere . even off of the chars, and high resolution does not mean more details, that is not the proper definition, as I understand high resolution means more ground to work with or in this case double the amount of pixels to work with. If you look at a solid blue block with the dimensions of 48x48 pixels and double that image to 96x96 pixels and display it in the same environment it in essence is of "higher" resolution than the original block. as far as you not liking the somewhat lower detailed or blurrier look of the new sprites, well that's just personal prefference. thanks for your comments!!!!

ohh and to not have any type of misplaced pixels would require some really nice professional software which I would love to get my hands on if it exists or manually redraw the whole thing by hand (mouse, pad,whatever) and I really don't have that kind of artistic skill let alone time for one character when there's literally thousands more, so edit one or edit 100 decently or atleast to my liking and a few others? I'll take the latter, jejeje... again thanks for the comments!!!

Do you even know what high resolution actually is? Because, based on your works, rather your edits off someone else's work, you honestly don't know, nor do you produce high resolution imaging. This is high res:

It just isn't.

Characters like Guilty Gear ones, found here, are actual high res. You have yet to show anything in high res. And I feel kind of bad for those who download these edits actually thinking it's high res, being fooled by such a non-sharp, blurry effect from whatever plugin or filter you're using. I don't think it's right that you advertise these edits as high res, when they aren't. Seriously. This does not equal high res (just like your other edits):

YEA...i see your point but the original gg char was already hi def on the game, its not like he took the original low def char from dreamcast or somthing and cleaned it, it was ripped from the hi def game. this guy is doing us a great service. he should be thanked, not criticized.

He should be thanked for falsely advertising the edits of someone else's works, and passing them off as something they're not?  ;P

OKAY.

Edit: I don't mean to come off as a jerk, but it irritates me that these edits are being passed off as high res when they are not high res. And in all honesty, I actually they think look worse than the originals. But that's just my opinion. They probably WOULD look better should they ever really become high res, though.

I think a lot of people forget that mugen is a game!! and what the aim of a game? FUN.
you should cheer a new creator in mugen, if not, only 10 persons will play mugen in the future ???

Worst post so far. This release is about a hi-res edit. So what can people do here? Talk about the so called hi-res sprites.

The main is the FUN!! this character is FUN. it is not perfect but FUN.

Fun? You do know that this character is old right? LaParca didn't even make this character. All he did was edit the sprites.

If all you care about is fun in this character, you should be thanking the guys that made it. The creators names our "Ethan Lives" and "O Ilusionista". Not LaParca.

euh sorry but my english is bad, i don't wrote exactly what i want :S you don't understand me and you're right it was me. i know that sevil nathe is not made by la parca, but the work he did on this char is for me a kind of creation. he spend (probably) a lot of time on it, to make it hi res. i just said that some criticism were not constructives, and the work he did on it was not appreciated.

there was an incomprehension between us. and yes for me this char is hi res.

Second statement he specifically states in his other two topics.

Although I think we are forgetting that LaParca's results are just what he intended.
i think we should call it an "engine" so we don't look like total idiots because otherwise we'd be arguing about a "game" and that would be somehow "dumber" than arguing about an "engine" on the "internet" for countless hours

how i said in another post about edits of LaParca, Sevil Nathe was my first and favourite char of mugen and i glad so much with the work of LaParca, but, i have tried myself to get somes hi-res for this char.

I hadn't Windows 1,5 year ago, so i haven't done the edit with Photoshop, but the GIMP with some scripts, and this is the result:

Read carefully again : people said that running sprites through a filter didn't make them high-res (well, they do, but they don't look good). It gives a good base though for further manual editing. La Parca then stated that he didn't have time to manually edit sprites, and that he prefered converting 100 characters like that than making a single very nice edit. Since he doesn't want to make them any better, what would you expect us to say more ?

adriermenda's sprite looks slightly better, I'll give him that, but it's still applying a filter nevertheless. TO GET A GG HD LIKE CHARACTER, PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE PAINFUL WORK OF MANUALLY EDITING ALL THE SPRITES, WHICH MEANS AT LEAST 30 MINUTES OF WORK PER SPRITE !!!!

Capcom is coming out wit "Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD" and from what i have seen, LaParca's edit is sorta close to what the characters will look like on that game.....
That right there shows me you're only posting for the sake of defending these falsely advertised edits, because SSF 2T HD looks nothing like these edits. Not even close. You don't seem to know what you're talking about. I feel bad that some people don't understand what high res is.  :-\

Disrespectful? I'd understand if someone came in here and directly insulted the TC, but I haven't seen that. Or is it disrespectful, in your little world, for someone to post their opinions, if they aren't praising something? 

Thats why alot of creators stop messing with mugen because alot of you say smart comments but do not give back helpful feedback that could be useful.
Really? Show us some evidence of Mugen character creators who have stopped creating things for Mugen because us regular members have voiced our opinions on their creations? As I said, no one has disrespected the TC. But don't expect people who actually know what high res is, to keep quiet, and just praise the TC for the sake of them creating more edits of falsely advertised material.

Maybe if alot of people would then LaParca probably could make them look like guilty gear characters .

Some of us didn't like it, and some of us stated why. I'll assume you didn't even read many of the posts here. Suggest a way to make it better? Maybe some of us aren't experienced at character spriting, so some of us would rather give general feedback instead of giving bad information? I'm a graphic designer, and the only feedback I could give the TC is that these edits weren't high res, and I posted images comparing actual high res characters, to his edits. Obviously, he'd have to work on each and every sprite to make them truly high res, and I don't see that happening.

Using a filter to blur images isn't going to make them high res. I thought that much was obvious to ANYONE. Even the inexperienced. Also, one doesn't need to suggest how to improve something in order give feedback on a release.

Thanks and yes, you're right. these edits are only a simple work's scripts and they need more time and hard work to design the HR. That's my problem, i haven't enough free-time to fix the sprites...

well, i haven't been able to edit the char yet due to MCM or Fighter Factory don't run under Linux OS (and have some X-confg errors with Wine)

... WHICH MEANS AT LEAST 30 MINUTES OF WORK PER SPRITE !!!!

i think more of 30 min/sprite Sure.  ;D

Which Linux OS are you using?

If you want, you can always make a small partition, but, would you really want to do that just for spriting?  ;P

well i might do this  fixes in the sprites and get more resolution to try drawing the edges on the char, but i'll spend a lot of time and the sprites won't be a HR yet.

by the way, next to do it, i might share the edits to another one who changes the .sff archive with MCM or FF.

Although i may edits only apply this script to hitsparks and helper too ...

(sorry M79 if i haven't understand ur question   :-X)

Ubuntu is nice....

My suggestion was that maybe you can create a partition in your hard drive.

It's sort of like splitting the space of your hard drive, so once that's done, you can install a Windows on the other partition, while Ubuntu remains in the main partition. That way you can get the spriting done you need to get done using FF or MCM, whatever else in the Windows partition. But again, I don't know if you'd want to go that route if it's just for spriting. Especially if you don't know what you're doing, as far as partitioning goes, you may end up messing up your OS.

ok, now i have understand u, u mean install Win with Linux, but now its impossible due to my hard-drive, with 40 GBs, have 3 partitions:

  - 1 GB swap (need in Linux although i have 1 GB of RAM)
  - 8 GB to ./ ("./" ---> i mean all data/root archives of the OS Linux)
  - and the rest (31 GBs more or less) to ./home (to avoid deleted my personal documents if i will have to re-install the OS, that is, "to independize the Home")

And i haven't got free space to add the OS Windows, and i'm not gonna do it only can use MCM or FF, i'd like to  have a version of MCM or FF to Linux.

yeah, this PC portatil has 4 years old....

Anyway, if someone (with more free-time and want to do an edit HR Char) wishes to know how to get this fixes/edits with GIMP. i might to post a little tutorial.

Keep up the good work, La Parca.  You're high res characters are great and I and many others can't wait for more.  Don't let people who confuse high resolution with high level of detail get you down.  Your filtering results in some of the best looking SF characters in the mugen market.

If I were you I would try and focus the SF characters NOT in Amit Dabydeen's upcoming work.  This will this result in more hi-res street fighter characters for the community.

They weren't really flames. Some were correcting you, others were slightly aggresively correcting you, but I've yet to see any flames except from you.
