Well, yeah. Me and my friends are gonna have a "reunion" and decided to have a Horror movie marathon after the Mini-Tekken tournament.

And I don't want movies like The Grudge, Paranormal Activity, or some shit like that, we want horror movies that'll scare us shitless. Movies that are so scary that we'll be afraid of our own shadows.

Any suggestions?

puh thats a good question.

I ve seen probably over 1000 horror movies in my life but barely any of them were really scary.

The only one i had ever nightmares about was The Ring 2 but that was maybe because i had a big tv, was playing till the morning and when i turned off the ps2 the screen of the tv was like in the ring with that "snow effect"

My gf recommends "susperia" ..cant say anything about it..have not seen it and she gets scared a ton faster than me

If you want to feel some horror, maybe watch "a serbian movie" but that movie is not scary, it just can go under the skin because the very drastic violence and perversions.

My picks in no particular order:

- Halloween
- Suspiria
- Eden Lake
- Poltergeist
- The Shining
- The Thing
- The Haunting
- Friday The 13th (sequels are not scary...they are funny!)
- Nightmare on Elm Street (sequels are not scary...they are funny!)
- Let the right one in
- Rosemary's baby

I like a lot of SUPER GORY...Like OVERDONE GORY GLORY MOVIES...but they are not that scary really.

Have fun with your friends. ;)

Oh, also...The Amityville Horror from 2005 with Ryan Reynolds was a pretty good reboot...even better than the original I thought and its worth a mention since horror reboots usually tend to be lame.

another suggestion..with horror movies and the scare effects its like with horror videogames.

If you play them alone, stuff like amnesia might make you pee sweat, but if more persons are in the room..the scare effect is fucking gone.

Maybe make a funny movie evening instead, i recommend the 21 jump street movie for many laughs

Actually, the second day of our reunion will have a Funny movie marathon, and that movie is included. Good thing though, because I haven't seen that yet! ;D

I agree with most of this list Except "Suspiria" which I think is the most overrate horror movie ever.  I tried to watch it twice now any I found it boring.  I have yet to find any one to explain it to me why its good, that at least make sense.  I have heard the like it because of the colors he used in the movie LOL.  Great choices in movie.  Go with "the thing" for gore value.

The Thing is really cool because of special FX gore, and also fuckin' Kurt Russell.

Maybe consider evil dead and the good old Braindead as movies for the first day too, both are a bit funny but sometimes relative scary, at least for girls i think

But me and my friends haven't seen Suspiria so it'll stay. The thing huh, the title sounds like a Marvel movie title but alright, 10 to go!

Hey man, I really loved Hellraiser, but only the first two. I heard the rest sucked so I didn't watch'em.
And try not to mention anything 2000's and up, I just don't believe in those movies...

Shaun of The Dead is awesome and super funny as previously mentioned.

...in the same vein you should also watch Zombieland as well...plenty of funny parts.

you could play Amnesia, Slender, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill, F.E.A.R, Bioshock, Alan Wake.

as far as movies go I'd say stuff like Quarantine, Marble Hornets(Slenderman series), idk there's a ton you can watch.

While I agree Candyman is a little slow it did have some pretty interesting scary stuff for its time...I sure didn't think it boring though.

don't get sceptical with this paranormal activity/ blairwith/ rec style, it has nasty twist
I hate blairwitch and I don't even understand why I wasted my time being a weird peeping tom spying on
