Since you all had a bunch of fun with those Ryu face edits in my thread,
and someone suggested a thread for just those kind of things might be cool, here it is!
Anybody can throw in a sprite but ofcourse, the top dogs are probably more appreciated (Diepod, FeLo, eFeX, Sean, !E...).

To start things up, here's a solo sprite of Han (GET IT?!?), CVS-ish, although for now he is just SlenderHan.
It's up to YOU to give the man a proper head! (I also left out his gun)

Have fun!

Doesn't sprites have to be pixelated -_-..... or is this really Finish-a-Picture thread?
Because I have a bunch of crappy things not pixelated that I can't/won't/don't feel like even trying to finish  :innocent:.

Hey when did this get added to the list of smileys?=====> :XD:

No! This should strictly be a finish-a-SPRITE thread, or I forsee it will turn into a 'a have a kewl picture, can somebody sprite this for me??' thread. Which would suck. I didn't intent that.

Or does it have to be smaller and/or look more like a sprite and less like an indexed color picture?

Not my sprites but rather something I came across after Googling "Capcom unfinished sprites".

They are supposed to be scraps from a SFA2 Zangief Backflip animation.

Anyone here care to finish them?

Interesting thread you made here, Balt :D Also I've some edits I made that are unfinished, mainly because were made in the time I stopped to sprite just to focus on coding... here's the first:

Eiji Shinjo from Battle Arena Toshinden, based of course in MVC2 Hayato. It supposed to look like this, but I lost inspiration so I never touched it again. Also I made this:

I always thought that a good conversion of Dante (DMC) should come from Jotaro Kujo, but I lost interest on finishing him few time after starting this. He should look like DMC1 Dante, but I don't see it yet...

You're so close to finishing that Eiji you may as well do it.  Just change the palette on his pants, give him some tape on his forearms, give him his ankle things then change the palette on his gloves and shoes and that's a good start.

Thanks Wizzy and MC2 ;) good tips, I think I could make something with them after all...

And here I show you more of my unfinished edits. Starting with these 2:

Haggar from Namco X Capcom and Freeza from DBZ Hyper Dimension. The common point of these 2 was the resize and then the manual edit to fit in an average size (in the case of Haggar, I used Hulk's head which later had to be edited), but I lost interest on these 2 because of the tedious of the process. But it wasn't the first time I did it, already I worked on it with my CVS3 Adon

And these 2 are just unfinished sprites. The first one it was a new base for Batsu, this time with the upper base of ROTD Pepe, but never was concreted. The 2nd one was for an old Guild contest about dressing fighters with normal clothes, for Reiji I was making a formal clothes, but apart of getting out of the contest for time, I never touched it again...

There is a specific sprite style here?

Because i have some Melty Blood Style sprites i want to post but there is no topic for that.
I say yes, this thread is for general unfinished sprites, AFAIK

The head looks damn good, but the proportions, especially the arm you did looks too small for SF3, although the shading is there.

Ryu's Gi and right arm doesn't look bulky enough imo.

And come on, you shouldn't have double-posted. You could have just edited your previous post.

I didn't even started on them!
I was showing step by step how I worked, but I should stop doing that. You'll see the final result when I finish.

And I merged the posts. But I didn't want to do that. Well, I guess I'll merge more often. This topic is already on the first page. :P

Can't say I have much experience making sprites, so this was tougher than I anticipated (aside from some minor edits, and megaman sprites haven't done much else as far as spriting)
Wondering if someone could finish/fix this, since I'd like to see it finished, it's just beyond my skill lol

Just wanted to point this sprite a bit into the right direction

I'm trying to create a guideline to help with spriting CvS style, so I made this. It's my first attempt so I'm not sure if I did it right. I know the legs aren't the best. Anyone who's willing to help with this will be very appreciated.

It would've been easier for you if you used the brush tool with feathering on.

Thought to post these here. I found these in Kong rips, which is interesting. I think that it's possible to finish shading these, but I don't really know how to do so. There were frames for Win/Taunt/Intro with this same problem, but I don't think that those would be needed. I can post them anyway, if you guys want.

I thought about doing that years ago, but I just didn't know what to use them for since King already has a back flip from Trap Shot.

Like the other guys said, King already has another backflip move, if they didn't use that unfinished one, it's because it was a beta later replaced for something better :)

Like SageHarpuiaJDJ said, they are from Kong's sprite rips. I belive that there are some other unfinished sprites on some other characters, but I coudln't tell you which.

Ryo has an unshaded sprite for the start of a backwards roll that exists only in the sprite rips.

Ryo has a full set of backwards roll sprites (they're just mirrored version of his forward one, though). Chun-Li is pretty much the same: mirrored forward roll sprites and one or two sprites at the end that are minor edits of the forward roll's final sprites. And that's her CvS2 spriteset, which makes it extra weird.

Can't recall any more.

This is for anyone who wants to try their hand at shading a Street Fighter 3 styled sprite. eFeX's SF3 Zangief included for references. The stance is from SF4. He looks bigger but that's mainly because he is less crouched then in eFeX's sprite. Scars are to be added at the end via a simple mask trick.

Not really an 'unfinished sprite', and I'm gonna finish it myself, but I thought that posting here will help out a bit:

I've completed this Idle like two times and screwed up saving it during both of those times. Here's my dilemma: I want to add hair and arm movement, but I'm not sure on how to do that properly. I've already figured out his basic idle speed and how he's gonna move in the idle, but I can't seem to do the arms and the hair properly to my satisfaction. I used the lasso tool to move the legs and the edited the shading a bit. I tried to do that with the arms, but it didn't look right during the editing progress. I tried manually redrawing the hair so that the tip bounces, but the bouncing didn't look right. I just need advice on how to properly do those thing mentioned, and maybe something else that may help to improve the Idle. Sorry if this is the wrong place.

I got bored and never finished this...

God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off. ~Tyler Durden; Fight Club
