I'm curious when the site went down did you hang out somewhere else or did you just wait for it to go back up. If the site went down permanently where would you go?

I tried going to MI But I couldn't take the amount of fuck topics. Literally topics named fuck.

Then I was going to make an account at RS but after reading there rules I just couldn't do it. Not that I don't plan on making a character completely from scratch but the concept of how anal it was a little disturbing to me.

I ended up hanging out a bit at Ascended Mugen but they don't have the users. So it's kinda like hanging out in a desert.

I think Ascended would become my home. I would just have to clean up my language a bit.

So what would you do?

i would just float around the internet like i usually do. if i released anything when guild was kaput, i would do it at MI i guess

mi.. has been real retarded lately, i blame titlin and koijiro for starting those trends.

imt is for kids, AM is cool and all but not active anymore like trinity and rs.

mc.. is well.. i dunno i cant tell if its active or not.

if the guild went down.. many people wouldn't be interested to mugen anymore.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

I disagree. too many mugen vids on youtube to say that, but all in all, a major downsizing and rebirth og the mugen community in general isn't so bad to me.

Me, personally, I have the Hall. I'm trying my best to not have the riff-raff that the community has in the site, and give users a chance to shine in the community by giving them exactly what they need, advice and tutorials with no rules except rules of politeness.

I would have gone there but to many tards from over there have done crazy things over here. For me the PR of the users I have seen from there over here is really bad. I'm not saying all but the few that live there that came here and started stuff were so bad that I could never hang out there. To bad because there are some really good guys over there.

well...this days was independence day here, so, there was much stuff to do  :P

i left a page open for the guild to check every once in a while if it was ready  :P

checked MI and RS, and MInf, but i think i don't have an account in RS anymore...maybe :P, just reading around, gave another go reading gohanssm2 stuff in the chronicles, things like that :P

Well, I was really to busy with RL stuff to cry about the guild for being down for too long.
When I was on, I just kind of looked to see where the regulars had gone.
It was annoying, because I was trying to contact Cy.

And I was at the Hall of course.

good question, i'd be at MI and RS, MI for mostly daily stuff while RS solely for creation purposes (advice, research, whatever)

and maybe infM but i still see too much mess there...

oh yeah I forgot the actual topic. If Guild closed, I'd probably spend more time working on MUGEN or one of the many other projects outside of it that need to get done.

Why would you have to clean up your language at Ascended? Most of the regulars, me included, don't really give a shit if you curse or not.

All the other big MOOG3NZ forums are boring and/or stupid. I would find Sanctuary at UG forums but I don't remember the last time there was an actual Mugen discussion there.

I would probabbly go to MI, there are a couple of cool guys there.

If Guild ceased to exist I'd go to Spriters Academy and probably hang out more at Primeop's spriting forum.

Also, if I ever had a mugen project maybe I'd go to Randomselect.

It was great! I was able to focus on learning flash without the distractions! Guild and DD were both down this week. That's the only 2 places I hang out at, so it was really useful.

I tend to waste too much time here. If Guild ever went down I would probably lose what's left of my mugen interests and just hang out at more comic sites.

Trust me if the guild disappeared off the face of this planet it would not make too much of a dent into the mugen community. I find it funny that people think that others instantly think of the mugen guild when they think of mugen. Trust me there will always be a fanbase just like there are fanbases for game mods and the like.

The guild just happens to be the biggest and oldest fish. Think of it this way: Mrev was pretty big back in the day and look at what happened to it.

People come and go but the true death of mugen is when something better comes in its place. And even then it more than likely is born off the ashes of previous engines.

That's just my two pennies on it.

MugenDEV died...

and that happened in the times when those were, like, the first place to go if you were entering in the community...

I have witnessed many deaths of forums already (not just mugen, I mean)...

guild happens to be now the oldest, but it will stop one day...and MI too, and RS also...

why it haven't died?, new admins every time that one is retiring...and every admin is getting the host well in time, MFG can last many more years having that kind of rhythm, and i don't think it will go down anytime soon (except for server crashes that is... ::))

You certianly hit the nail on the head kagami. But still isn't it funny that some people think of the guild as the authority on mugen even though people thought that MugenDev and TESTP were the authority on it as well? One thing that has not changed is the community.

its just that we're not aware of it...

people think of guild as authority 'cause almost all of the noobs has grown seeing it...

one way or another, the guild has made its place in the community through time...new people see this place as authority 'cause it has become a "must have" stop if you're entering the mugen community...'cause its url has been in many forums related to games for many years now...

we must be aware that there are 3 faces of the community, or more like pillars nowadays, MFG-RS-MGBR...

one falls, another one is born, like always...

in the old times of TESTP, it was famous because it was the mainstream forum in the community, the biggest, the most known, it fell...the community continued, another one was born...

if MFG-RS-MGBR dies, there will be another one...and when that happens, i'm sure some of us will be lurking in it  :P

as long as there's a useful host, there will not be any kind of problems...and with time, if host is a problem, it is possible to get another host from someone else that wants to help...
