Will Disney get angry at me for using DDR Mickey Mouse Character?

Hug Pikachus!

I know that the Disney Company is highly protective of its image and does not like Mickey Mouse used freely.

But since DDR has released a Mickey Mouse character recently, I have eagerly made a video of me battling him.

But will Disney get mad at me for "using" Mickey Mouse?

Because I do not want to get into trouble and get my Youtube account suspended...

To begin with, there's nobody who can really answer such a question. To get a clear answer, you would need to contact them directly and ask them, then you'd be sure. On one hand, it's pretty known that Disney is quite the clingy type to its licences and characters, but on the other hand, it's a little hard to imagine they would actually do anything to some fan-made video or fan-made character when there's no profit involved and the concerned people obviously wouldn't be able to pay anything if they were sued.
I seem to recall that Nintendo did voice their opinion about such things (in general) and there was a small ruckus with Mugen characters at some point, but Disney ?

This just caught my attention. Mind enlightening me on what happened?

But in all seriousness, if Disney can sue a babysitting service for having a painting of Mickey Mouse in their front window and get away with it, I seriously doubt Disney will be any less lenient towards MUGEN. Disney, in my eyes, ranks up there along with FOX, Nexon, and Scientology.

I believe it was to a Zelda Remake/Fan game that got pulled, I can't find the link to it though.

only marvel and tecmo have taken legal action against fanart, but not against mugen related stuff. And at least, in the case of tecmo, the fanart was being used by thrid parties for profit.

nah, in the case of tecmo a group of hackers were hacking the game to mod it, garry's mod style. Then the pirates start selling moded versions of the games. IIRc it started in one of the doa2 versions in which they hacked it so the intro models (nude kasumi, opera elena) were playable. then doa3 got completely modable characters, doax got the swimsuits taken off or replaced by other stuffs, and doau even got charcters from other doa games added, such as christie with kasumi's moveset.

All that happened with good timing as I had quit mugen and was studying 3d programming.

That one was sold by one online retailer in asia, later hacks made their way by more traditional pirate means. Obviously the nude hack being sold as if it was the real thing was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Well, technically, using 3DSMax, Photoshop or After Effect correctly can take 3 years or more ... maybe that's what he did.

The video of Mickey he did has awesome special made using Photoshop and After Effect, he made Mickey fight in a 3D stage built using 3DS Max (I think he modelled half of London

). So yeah, his video took 3 years of hard labor to be done.

Ocarina of Time 2D I'm assuming? I though the author of that was still working on it and rumors about Nintendo taking legal action was proven false?

Plus I have yet to hear about Nintendo pulling any Mario fangames down (specifically Judgespear's MKF)
