I have no idea, if anyone posted this on here before, but I ran into these characters on Youtube.  So far I tried Fix-it Felix as an opponent and I love the retro sounds added..just like the movie.  The download link for these two and others are on the Youtube description here...

I know there's not a lot to work with, but they already look broken in the damage department and lacking in frames.

Yeah, the damage done in the video is a bit misleading..and makes it look like perhaps are overpowered, but that isn't the case imo.  Wreck-it Ralph does do more damage that is true, but is beatable and of course you can alter the damage.

It's definitely beatable, but altering it shouldn't be something I have to do. The chars don't look all that bad, just a bit more frames and in the animation and damage adjustments would probably make them better, based on the video (the ideas are actually not bad).

I'm only talking about Ralph and Felix BTW.

I saw the video and there's one word to describe those chars: CHEAPNESS

So far only tested Ralph:

  • Alot of the CLSN boxes look like Autoclsn was used, particularly on the guarding frames. These can easily be simplified to one or two
  • speaking of CLSN boxes, alot of his basic animations have CLSN movement where he shouldnt. For example, he has lower body invincibility of his forward run half of the time.
  • Throw has 0 frame startup, 10 active frames, and 0 recovery
  • Completely invulnerable during Wreck-it Somersault
  • Jab whiffs at point blank against Kung Fu Man
  • Lacks any kind of damage dampening in combos
  • Light Kick x4 -> Jab x4 in corner = easy 200 damage
  • Missing required sprites
  • 220 for a normal throw is ALOT
  • Any reason why he has startup invincibility during Raining Bricks?
  • Raining Bricks, while not an infinite, can be spammed repeatedly without any risk
  • Raining Bricks gives debug flood. Same for the super version.
  • Why does Raining Bricks use the B and C buttons when Ralph only uses the X, Y, A, and B buttons?
  • Wreck-it Somersault is an infinite
  • Super Wreck-it Somersault gives back power
  • Super Wreck-it Somersault does 400 damage, which is alot for a level 1
  • Wreck-it Combo whiffs at point blank and only does 220 damage tops, as opposed to the super somersault's 400
  • Normals dont seem to follow any chaining rules. All normals can be cancelled into each other.
  • j.LK -> j.HK -> jump -> repeat = corner infinite

i tried earl (since he is my sig) a long time ago. if i remember right a lot of his attacks can one-hit kill

sooner or later, everybody puts up with xiangfei

I haven't run into any one-hit kill with Earl at all.  Perhaps this guy updated it, since then.

yeh this is cool,wreck it ralph is quality and he's a great addition to a retro collection and makes a cool opponent in arcade mode when using his stage

The char idea is cool, but the HR effects destroy the retro feeling of it.

I think the news is not about the chars (Ralph and Felix) have been released, the real news here is they're now hosted on MMV
