What's the best M.U.G.E.N Character in your own opinion?

(You can mention more than one but less than 10,has to be in order,bestest comes first)
(if the character's not so famous it would be better if you post a screenshot,but that's not necessary)
(would be nice if people put a download link to the character(s) they mention,but that's not necessary either)

This kind of threads end up bad, son.

Well, inb4drama :

- Sagat by Sepp. Feels like the real thing
- Gouki by GM. Look above
- Kriz by thedge and kalumon. Best edit of K' ever. Everything else is crap compared to him.
- Sander's Terry. While it has too much stuff (sup 17 different power waves)he has everything that I want in a Terry.
- Rikard's Kei. Her gameplay is simply awesome, even tough she isn't Rikard best creation sprite-wise.
- Nyankoro's Krizalid. Best boss of the nest saga, quite decent conversion
- CCIronmugen's Ryo. I like him better than his KOF counterpart.

My personal favorite?

Ruby Heart by Beximus. Mainly because she was the first MVC2 character that I can remember who didn't have awful and badly cropped MVC2 FX sprites. Hell, she isn't even MVC2 style to begin with..which is yet another plus.

I know theres a handful of people who don't like Beximus' work, but personally I feel they have the best MVC-accuracy since Iceman and Strider by Splode. It is sad that after a decade of Mugen being around, tolerable MVC style characters are as rare as a Mugen video without the Unregistered Hypercam 2 mark.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

how to answer that, can you tell what is the best fruit, what is the best food? I can tell what is the best manggo in my opinion,
but how to start compare mugen character, unless specified into smaller category like what is the best mugen KOF char, or even what is the best Kyo or Ryu, etc would be more answerable.

my spider sense telling me, that you just want to know where to download "good" characters (plus the screncap if possible but not necessarily)  --;

I'm not going to lie,I'm trying to find good M.U.G.E.N characters,and this topic might be a good reference not only to me,but also to a lot of people how to get them or where to look,or just don't know the good ones,and personally I don't think there's anything wrong with that?

Another reason why I made it is because I thought people would find a thread like this interesting.

And last but not least,so the other newcomers(noobs if that's what you'd like to call them),which I happen to be one of them,wouldn't keep asking"Anyone knows who's...bump.bump.BUMP!" and make threads just to know one good character,
I thought a general thread like this one would be enough.
so it's a win-win situation,right?

psst... most people in mugen forum consider good characters is the one with "good gameplay" AI is not important.... I partially don't agree to that, since most of the time they are there for my punching bags.
anyway I think Sander71113 chars are good in gameplay and ai, beppu make good ai but not so fair gameplay (but serve their purpose though as opponents to beat)

And even that is impossible since we have difeerent versions of the same character. Which Ryu is better: SFA Ryu, SFIII Ryu, SF2 Ryu, CVS Ryu, MVC Ryu? Which Kyo is better : 94 Kyo, 95 Kyo, 96-98 Kyo, 99 Kyo, 2000-2002 Kyo, 2003 Kyo, XI Kyo, CVS Kyo?

Personal experience says to look yourself. You'll have a better chance of finding your own favorite rather than basing yours off of other peoples. It's also a good way to personally see which characters are "good" and which are "bad". I like Cerenas' works myself, though, but I won't make a list of my favorites. I don't say best because best doesn't really fit here.

Interesting? There are several topics in mugen threads that pop up every once and a while, and often enough to become something a regular forum goer sees several times. Threads like these are one of them.

And that's what the Request area is for.

lol,actually as I said before,up until now I haven't looked up anyone on this thread,I'm just as you said looking myself and insanely downloading characters to tryout and see which ones "I" like most and then delete the others.
after that I "might" come and check the characters posted in here and see if I want any of them.
and from your way of talking it sounds "to me" that you're a bit mad that I started this thread,I hope you're not mad though.

As I said, I go by favorites, not best. I like Resident Evil Survivor more than Halo but that doesn't mean I think RES is *better*.

But, why not, a few favorites...


Cerenas's Samurai Showdown edits (they tend to have a crapload of moves, though)
Orochi Herman's Shadow Dio and Raiya
PotS's Lei-Lei
DG's Ryu DG
Pinko's Iroha
Chosen_01's Chosen Ken
Warusaki3's Rolento and Yoko (I forgot who sprited Yoko, though)

No, that's even worse. There's a Ryu for each different taste, you can't say that GM/Warusaki3/Limited Moon/BC/that japanese guy whose name I can't remember that make the SF2 ryu/etc's Ryu is the best, because they're meant to represent different mechanics on a character that changes form game to game.

- Dragon Claw is definitely one for example, as he's made from scratch.
- I guess heavy edits are too, but what about Evil Ken by Reu ? He's an edit, is he a "Mugen Original" ?
- What about chars from a game which play with different gameplay. CVS Captain Commando by Warusaki 3, or his Jill, or Zero by Jesuszilla. The sprites aren't edited, are they Mugen originals ?

Nope,IMO I consider ONLY characters like Dragon Claw originals.
- Heavy edits,like COMPLETLEY changing what the character looks like and fighting pattern would be the same too!
- But Evil Ken? Evil Ryu...etc?NO NO NO!

It was Easy: Iori_WLS is the best one ever created.
The most accurate among all ever created Iori(s)
and the most balanced KoF Characters ever in MUGEN
(Sorry for the other Creators, Ahuron, zzzasd, DM, Jin, and the others that I can't remember)
And the only Character that is similiar to the Source Game (So far).
