I guess it is because of the RWBY show alone, yes? I know that characters based on popular shows are really popular for a reason. It is like that since Homer Simpson was made for MUGEN. You should see how the MUGEN youtube community was like back in the day.

Yeah. It's still like that today, only I can't watch one video without one suggestion being Gumball, Undertale, or MLP. I do remember when AngryBirdCooler made Natsuki from DDLC, bringing the two communities together for a while (one battle consisted of 4 of her facing Homer). I still have a Garfield being worked on, hoping to do a underrated character justice, trying to make the MUGEN community (here, YouTube, etc.) a place where character popularity (not like CotM, but fandom-based) isn't a thing (I do remember several versions of Thanos, of all things, being popular after Infinity War).
Now with that out of the way, let the voting continue without further interruptions.

Garfield is much more famous than the RWBY characters though. The reason why you see so much support for those characters is because they (and Thanos) appeared in fighting games which makes their Mugen versions a natural progression for people who played as them in those games.

First of all, I thank the people who named my Chun-Li ... I say this because it was a partnership, much more than the sprites made by Dampir and my coding, I never imagined that I would get help with palettes and tests ... Where I thank the people who have nominated my char, winning or not for me is something irrelevant, sharing something with the world is the greatest motivation ...

Yeah, I can agree with that, although there are people who like the character ironically (don't believe me? check his Twitter). Although I like RWBY myself, I've always been a Garfield fan ever since I started reading it, hence my name.

I can agree with that as well, even though Ruby and Yang were made after Infinity War made Thanos popular (and his MUGEN incarnations as well).

Congrats to @OHMSBY for both Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long winning character of the month! (I said both because they lead the poll, pretty much.)

Not gonna say i´m surprised since both are from a semi-popular series and from an Arc-Sys game and actually the conversions play really great (IMO) and are fun, but really impressed considering both are OHM´s first and second char made (or atleast released), big thick congrats!

Wow.
The reason I decided to release my characters to the public is to get feedback and eventually become as good as the other content creators who have won COTM, as well as those who have been nominated. I did not think that this would happen.
