as the title says: what's the thing that made you like/you enjoy the most about yoru favorite fighting game ; it coudl be more than one thing or it could be more than one fighting game.
kof: small jumps , after playing sf and other games, where jumping is almost giving up unless you read yout oponent really good (or he just sucks at antiair) kof felt really fun, being able to jump to move around without giving the oponent a chance to do a DP on reaction.
omk: the imaginative movelists, the cast is pretty crazy, and while it kinda ahs generic shotos most of the cast movesets are very interesting and a lto of those are very different to whatone is used to see in fighting games, more so because of the way the whole movelists are set up.
-
Since you said OMK...
Kinnikuman Muscle Fight: Extremely crazy, spriting is really good, pretty funny, can get real intense, LOTS of secrets, moves, intros activated by pressing directions, chaingrabs, etc... And the characters are pretty cool. Not to mention the little soundbites of music after character voices.
Famicom Hisi-Tai(NES dying corps): Really silly take on NES stuff. I don't get it at all and that's what makes it so dang fun to play. Sure, some characters are very source accurate and some aren't, (Which leads to very imbalanced battles) but being able to come back after dying is a very unique mechanic.
Fighter's Kyodatai: I can't remember why I like this doujin so much, but the music is awesome, and Poorly Drawn Suneo is pretty cool
Now to more mainstream stuff...
Rakuga Kids: Awesome sprite style, 2.5d fights in 3D environments, cool looking specials, awesome designs.
Pocket Fighter: Not actually one of my favorites, but it still deserves a mention. Power ups, such as the weird orbs you get, are pretty fun, and was generally unique overall, which isn't as much of a good thing as I thought at first...
Sonic the Fighters: I mean, it was really just Virtua Fighter with Sonic stuff in it, what's not to like?
SF3 New Generation: Personally, I just find it the best of all 3 SF3s... Still, no Q, though...
Power Stone (both): It's like Smash Bros. but way more fun all around.
A bit of a stretch, but still...
Dream Mix T.V. World Fighters: Random funny crossover, great soundtrack, personally, I think the graphics are better than Melee, and one of my mains is one of the cheapest characters in the game. That, and for a Japanese game, is easy enough for non-Japanese players to understand.
Battle Stadium D.O.N: Sure, on my emulator, it is EXTREMELY laggy, but I still have quite some fun with it...
The Simpsons Wrestling: Yes, it's very glitchy, but still it's fun as heck.
Oh, yeah, and Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion(Both versions): The glitches alone make this better than any Smash game.
That seems to be it, really...

Mortal kombat : The fatality
Killer instinct : The announcer
Darkstalker : The character the art style and just everything in general
Marvel vs Capcom : Two of the best thing fighting each other
-
Fatal Fury: The Awesome Soundtrack
Killer Instinct: The Announcer
Tekken: Kuma
-
Killer Instinct: literally everything.
-
King of Fighters XIII/Street Fighter 3: Sprite work/Art Direction
Marvel vs. Capcom 2/Tekken series in general: Stage design (also applies to KoF XIII/SF3)
CvS2: Sprites/Soundtrack
Dissidia: Almost everthing
Killer Instinct series: Same as Xan
Battle Arena Toshinden/Ehrgeiz: Freedom of movement and arena design (for both)/Prince Doza and Han Dae Han (Ehrgeiz) :buttrox:
-
Street Fighter Alpha 3: The announcer and Ryu's theme song.
Pocket Fighter: Ryu's voice
Skullgirls: Art style, nice balancing, tits everywhere
King of Fighters XIII: Raiden
Matrimelee: The soundtrack
Guilty Gear X2: How varied the individual character systems are (also the Korean soundtrack kicks so much ass)
JJBA (Capcom): The attention to detail in making a fun game yet throwing in so many shoutouts to the comic.
JJBA ASB: Joseph Joestar shouting "HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIT"
Big Bang Beat: Great character designs and great soundtrack (everything else sucks tho)
Million Knights Vermillion: SMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILE (everything else sucks tho)
OMK: The pretty sprites and how creative the movesets are.
And now for the moment you've all been waiting for...
Rage of the Dragons: Character designs, easy to get into but still rewarding if you invest time, almost every song in the game.
-
Under Night in-Birth and Melty Blood: Music, character designs, and the fighting system it has.
Dengeki Bunko: Just the characters and gameplay, minus the assist.
Killer Instinct: Pretty much everything.
Street Fighter 3 & 4: Fighting system and characters (though the music's on SF3's side).
AquaPazza: Fighting system and the ability to play your own music.
King of Fighters and Samurai Showdown series: Characters.
Mortal Kombat X: Characters, some costumes, and the combo system (felt easier than MK9, even though it's still tough at some parts).
Every ArkSys fighting games out there: Char designs and the fighting system (even though some parts felt the same).
And for an honorable mention (though it's not really a favorite):
PS All Stars: Combo system (though to be honest, it felt more fitting for a 1 on 1 fighting game than a 4 player all out platformer brawler, if that term fits).
-
Akatsuki Blitzkampf (Shocker): The gameplay, the cast, the ode to the 2-hit combo as Fritz
Big Bang Beat Revolve: The (well, most of) cast, its semi-fun to fuck around in, DEBIRU DAIGO despite not being his bloated 1st Impression self.
Karnov's Revenge: Fun to play against friends (as long as they don't pick Samchay)
Breaker's Revenge: Fun to play against friends, I learn Maherl in two seconds.
Garou: B. Jenet, punishing my friend using anti-air supers when they decide to jump.
Capcom Jojo's: Khan, Petshop mirror matches.
-
Last Blade 2 - Atmosphere, gameplay.
Mark of the Wolves - Atmosphere, gameplay.
KoF XI - Character movesets.
SF3: Third Strike - Character movesets.
Art of Fighting - Artistic work.
Mortal Kombat Trilogy - Childhood nostalgia.
Threads like this never fail to remind me of just how many fighters I haven't played. :(
-
My favorite fighters are usually the ones that have a lot of people fighting each other at the same time, especially if they do so without tagging in and out with each other, like in Smash Bros, PlayStation All-Stars and J-Stars, plus the new Dissidia being developed by Team Ninja looks promising as well. I also have a thing for Adventure Mode / Beat 'em Up modes in fighters, such as the Tekken adventure modes.
-
Ryu and Evil Ryu, Kyo and Kusanagi or/and Kyo Clones, Iori and Orochi Iori, Haohmaru and Rasetsumaru, Jin Kazama and Devil Jin, background music, character roster (Kof2002um, mvc2, sfz3, ss6), versus series
-
vampire savior - marvel lite, easy to pick up, zabel/lord raptor being really fun to play
-
Art of Fighting - Artistic work.

By that part, you're refering to maybe Art of Fighting 2 or 3 (probably 3)? Because IIRC, those were the only two AoF games with great artwork and such.
Also forgot to add these:
-KoF XI - Background art, Magaki being a hard motherf**ker to beat.
-JJBA - Everything (well, maybe except Avdoll and Iggy dying :bigcry: :bigcry:)
-Kof 98 - Lucky Glauber
-Mortal Kombat X - Story Mode, and how it's divided, quick time events
-Garou: Everything, except for the lack of Joe, Andy, Billy, and Mai. I don't care if it was supposed to be a New Generation, those 4 would have been great in MoTW
-Samurai Shodown - It's play on history, atmosphere, Galford
-Rage of The Dragons - Tag Team, Jimmy Lewis, general premise.
-Castlevania Judgement - General idea of a Castlevania, Dracula. That's it, everything else about it is terrible.
-
UNIEL: System mechanics, Yuzuriha's playstyle.
AC+R: High damage, music, Jam.
Xrd: Still pretty high damage, music, Sol and Sin.
Chaos Code: fast meter gain to emphasize that you should be using for damage, music, Rui.
-
KOF XI: Revived my interest on KOF
Melty Blood: Revived my love for FG's in general.
SFA3: Karin. <3
MK: Fatality. When you're on of the main responsibles of the ESRB, you've cemented your legacy.
BBB: Introduced me more into the doujin games and by extension.... eroges.
-
-Garou: Everything, except for the lack of Joe, Andy, Billy, and Mai. I don't care if it was supposed to be a New Generation, those 4 would have been great in MoTW

Too 90's, doesn't spell "future" at all.
OR MAYBE it's so far down the line in the future that we're up to the point when the 90's are back, which would be somewhere after 2019

Seeing how some old trends are popping up (I'm just going to refer to fashion here, since I can't really think of anything else), I wouldn't be surprised if that was SNK's intention with Garou's timeline.
-
Street Fighter Alpha 3
-ISM select
-Dramatic Battle
-WORLD TOUR MODE! (would absolutely love this to return in some way)
-Evil Ryu/Akuma special intro
-Final Bison theme
-
^ World tour in SFA3 + Jojo's SUPER Story Mode = Profit.

Why doesn't Capcom take note of such brilliance??
-
Tekken in general:
1-lots of moves, throws and combos for all characters.
2-combos are easy to string together.
3-free roaming in 3D environment.
4-alot of attention went into making each martial art.
5-my friends love it too, and we play it for hours (TT2).

iirc(don't quote me on that) garo motw is already on the past.
