Hmm... well maybe it could just be a mashable throw.

Idk if I am going to add shoes. I know he had them in SF1, but it would be more work to add them and I think he looks okay barefoot. Maybe I will go back and cut and paste Cody's shoes onto him though later.

Why is it that they can take away Ryu's shoes, but not Joe's? Is it because he's white :p

And Dude, come on. You already trying to make Joe as close to original as possible. No need to step away from that image in one, but truly important detail- shoes.
You HAVE to draw them. Or this Joe WON'T be similar to what are you striving for.

I know it's off topic, but should I bother re-coloring Birdie?

I was thinking too, maybe for one of Joe's supers, instead of having him do multiple jump kicks in a horizontal line, he could dash forward and do a lot of punches and kicks. It could be kind of like that super Takuma has that ends in him doing the giant fireball that he has. Also, maybe it could have an invincible start up and end in his jump kick. Then the other super would be the vertical rising spinning kick.

Now that's a nice kick. But I'd suggest you make his viewer-left leg at pre-last bent in his knee, to make it a better transition into the last sprite.
And about Birdie- shouldn't.
You see, in MUGEN such thing as recolor is a matter of palette. ESPECIALLY for Color Separated sprites. Varo_Hades did a CS sprites for Birdie for a LONG time ago, so it's possible to make him pretty white. But yeah, he. being black, have a specific drawing too, so he won't get whiter than that without f*cking ut his look...

None. But he is not that different from what Ken is in SFA. In sprites his hair is SF2-Like short and also his gloves aren't full. He doesn't even have shoes.

Go with his MvC haircut, that's the best SFA Ken can go with.
...
Or at least try to do something similar to his Pocket Fighter sprites.

Aaaaaaaand... Here is the worst of your ideas by so far.
Sorry, but you DON'T need Ken as Ryu-clone he was in SF1. This time you REALLY have to step away from what he was in SF1. At least in basic moveset and some personality related stuff like taunts, winposes and intros. But you can as a tribute recycle his Special Moves sprites...

Top: Touched up the death sprite, fixed the leg in the overhead kick 2nd to last frame.

Bottom: Added his anti air. He only has one more special left to do.



Here are his specials with a brief explanation (Top to Bottom):



Split Punch: Down, Down, Down + P
Joe does the splits and hits the opponent in the groin. Must be blocked low. Debating on whether to have the opponent re-act by being pushed back or by being frozen in place and bent over.

Box Car Kick: Charge back, forward + Kick
Similar to Joe Higashi's kick from Fatal Fury. Joe does not travel in a straight line, but in an arc. The strength of the button pressed determines how far he travels. If it connects, the opponent is knocked back a great deal.

Upper Box Car Kick: Charge down, up + Kick
This is his version of the flash kick and main anti air. The strength of the button pressed determines how high diagonally upward he goes.

Punch Combo: Press punch rapidly
This is his version of Joe Higashi's rapid punch move. If it connects, the opponent is not pushed back at first, but frozen in place like Joe/Ryo/Takuma's version. It gets 6 hits, the final of which is an uppercut that knocks the opponent back.

Dodge: Charge back, forward + P (not pictured)
Joe dashes forward while leaning to the side like the CvS characters do in the SNK groove. Goes through everything but does no damage. It's main function is to avoid and set up attacks.

While we are on the topic of Joe and Street Fighters, I always thought it was a little racist that Capcom never gave us a Mexican Street Fighter. I don't mean T. Hawk or El Fuerte either, I mean  bad ass character from the streets.

 Here's my Street Fighter character I created for SF1. His name is Jose. His storyline is that he is a drug dealer who beats up other drug dealers for their drugs and then takes their money too. Ryu and Ken run into him when they walk down the streets of Mexico:

In SF there is onli one place for people of such profession: lower than any Shadaloo soldier.

But yeah I was just fuckin around with that. But it would be pretty cool to have some legit Mexican guys. Maybe a MMA guy or a fast boxer based off of De La Hoya. Always wanted to see a character from Antarctica too. Was thinking it would have been fucking funny to see them put Antarctica in SF1 and when you go there you fight a penguin and a polar bear
