Imagine a character select screen with a map, as you select your character the location of the character nationality is show on the map, example: if the character is from Japan, when the cursor is above him it'll appear a red circle above Japan in the map, to show the location of his nationality.

Is it possible to do that?

100% possible. it would be very tedious and your roster would have to be static(characters stay in a specific spot) but it's doable through fonts or the mugenhook

it can be possible in a simpler way, using the cursor as part of the character big portrait.

If I do that, when the second player select the character, all the locations will be mirroed, which will result in complete mess on the map.

Oh, I didn't know about mugenhook, I'll see if it'll work. Before I've tried adding the location on the 9000,0 (little portrait), but the location isn't only a red ball but also the name, and the quality dropped so bad.

you can use the "back to back" trick, the most common example is the noz legacy screenpack

template:

ingame:

and of course change "facing = -1" to "facing = 1" for p2 portrait.

Now I understand, I'll try that too. This noz screen has a great quality, but when I add sprites on the sff the quality get lowered, is there a better way to do?

In full games, you can do many features that are almost impossible to do in a normal mugen:
