Goddamn, that's awesome. I only feel highly bothered by the midtone shading in the sprite's colors. There's just too much banding with it, and it makes the sprite look ugly. That is a common mistake with your sprites, and you need to break those midtone lines a little bit.
Daeron said, June 04, 2015, 01:34:19 pmNice Cell!Btw Lunch Z2 needs to be a thing somedaySpoiler, click to toggle visibilty6/10 "To many guns" IGNlol now just make the passive counterpart of Launch dropping the gun going "How did i get here?!"
Resize, change the antialias, remove the overly shiny parts, add a few datails... a one minute work on theses sprites each, I know there is the darkest shade missing, but that's not that much of a work, this is doable in a really fast way.
Can somebody take a quick look at this: lots of credit goes to Zero obviously, but I tried my hand at shading Z2 style.
Looks good HQ although I can barely see the second color of shade in his skin and pants. I personally think you should band the second shade as well cause if you look closely at Vegeta the second shade is banded.
Thanks for the feedback Barker improved him quite a lot for me already - I'll study what he did there and then try another one look at that badass kidbuu:also here's the progress1. Zero's Sprite2. My first drafts for the edit3. My Edit4. Barker's improvement
The pectorals of the first one were generally ok, in the final one they look a bit strange (especially in their lower part, the lines that define them there); the belly should receive a bit less light, so instead of the lightest colour you could use the darker tone. What did you do? The image looks like a jpeg.

I did #2 (the draft) and #3. #4 is the improved version done by BarkerThe image is a png (at least that is what it shows up here and what I saved it as)
Yes, I meant the one Zero made, they looked better in his sprite than in yours, they needed some little edits. Your fix is a great improvement, it's just that part that sticks out for me.The image is a png file but if I use the paint bucket tool in Kid Buu's skin or shoes, it's got a lot of artifacts.
wohhh that's weird, I wonder how that happened with the colours??? my ps is acting weird there lately... I'll fix that nowI have to disagree about the pectorals because they are shown from a different perspective, yet if you mean the general motion of the "breast"- curve of Zero's original sprite I could try to adapt that one

I tried to improve that issue now- also fixed colours and moved the shoulder a bit to the right (as barker suggested to me)- also made the gloves shiny
What should I say now? I love it and those fixes were for good, even if I thought the other version was good too I think his bracelets/gloves/whatever should be like Barker made them on Buu, not that shiny-shiny.I hate you!
