Title: Street Fighter V 1280x720 Screenpack [NOTE: Ram Heavy]
Post by: Veolf on May 10, 2016, 02:02:13 pm
INTRODUCTION

Welcome! Been quite a long time that I've released something. This is SFV SP at Beta. What's left to be done is just the lifebars. If you need help with the PSD files I'll gladly post a tutorial later. Right now it's just for release purposes and opinions to frequently update or give separate motifs for this screenpack. This screenpack comes with 84 select slots with 1 random slot in the half of each row.

Sizes are doubled for 850x480 resolution. Sizes are triple for 1280x720 resolution. A comprehensive portrait tutorial will be made in this section later.

Requests can be made that is not a select port for cursor (since it is SFF edited) and I included a motif psd file if you guys want to customize your roster slots.

The system.def file has another stage font edited for only text if one may wants to use more than the stages that can be provided through only ASCII fonts. Also radar effect also has been done but there are no videos for it to show it yet. Lifebars will be done after through time. Download link will be up when it is fully uploaded. Very  nice, I wonder how difficult this must have been to make.

Only one thing has been in my mind, though. You credit me for my Lilith in this, but in that win screen, she is using a winquote that definitely is not hers. Does this mean that there are no win quotes available?

Lol yeah all i need to add is just the font6 and space it on the right window space. Custom win fonts and ill do a hot fix today for win fonts. Not a big patch so yeah expect that soon.

Yes open the system.def and take out the colons for the stage text at select section of the system def and delete off the stage ports section.

Lol same but for good quality you sacrifice performance. Ill try to make designs for the lifebars by today, and update any fixes or problems this screenpack might have. After i might just finally go back to charactrr coding.

Pretty nice screenpack. There is couple things i've noticed that need fixing/added.

- The earth on the select screen needs to loop better.
- The stars on the vs screen don't loop properly either. If they aren't meant to loop then fix the duration of the vs screen to end when the background stars animation end.
- Wouldn't it seem more logical to have arcade mode say story mode instead of rank match or at least say arcade mode under the rank match font. Same for the casual match/ versus mode.
- The line that scrolls down in the menu screen suppose to changes colors. The line could have been more transparent imo.
- The blue hue in the versus screen vs logo suppose to fade in/out.

If specific things thats in the game weren't added because you wanted to keep it light thats understandable.

Idk about the mode select, kinda already did it if it means to rehaul and remake menu fonts I'll see about that.

- 2nd part you're right it doesn't loop properly but it will end really short and I kinda want to keep the animation going.. hmm I'll decide what to do with that.
The earth as in looping better as continuously going yeah the last ends of the frame it just slows down ill prob either cutdown the frames or make it go faster.

The logo do fade out but it's not that noticeable.

Change colors for the fade? Yeah, idk.... it's a custom thing I could add more colours but I'll see.

The most thing I had difficult was looping the earth properly with the clashing bg stars. I DID had the whole animation but it was 750 frames of 1920x1080 and I had to shorten it. AND i can't even run that in mugen lol.

I'll fix the earth and I'll see about the stars thing for now.

UPDATE: Earth is fixed to rotate better. The radar line has been added for more colours. I'm leaving the blue hue for versus screen atm and I think it looks good but if not I'll subject to change it. I'm also leaving the stars unless I found a solution for it.  Also fixed the versus animation now besides the stars. But it's going good now =)

The screenpack works better fullscreen.
I assume it needs at least 5 Gb of Ram to launch, because I was at 55% of 8Gb in use and it fail at boot.

Portraits are a little bit crazy to do. :)
I would suggest maybe on your next screenpack to lower a little bit the scale of your portraits.
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

Yea it just refuses to launch. It stays open and loads indefinately. White screen.

I know for a fact i can run this, so im curious why its not loading.

55% RAM Usage, i see no reason it shouldn't be loading...

GPU - Nvidia GTX 960 2GB
CPU - Intel i5 4460 @3.20GHz
RAM - 8GB

Alice, Try to run it fullscreen, and check the Ram you have available on your system.
Shut dow most of the programs that consume RAM, and start again. :)

I had trouble if 55% of my 8Gb were in use, but not when 35% of my 8Gb already in use.

;Set to 1 to allow precaching. Precaching attempts to start loading
;player data as early as possible, to reduce apparent loading times
;between matches. To get the best performance, set PlayerCache to at
;least 1. The optimal number for PlayerCache is 4 when precaching is
  ;enabled.
  ;Precaching is disabled when Rendermode=OpenGL.
Precache = 0

;Set to 1 to enable large-buffer reads of sprite and sound data.
;Set to 0 (off) to decrease memory usage, at cost of slower
  ;loading.
BufferedRead = 0

Set bufferedread to 1. It should work.

It still infi loads, i was using a patched exe for 4GB since the regular 32bit exe usually crashes my game with characters due to memory issues and its never failed to work before. I thought maybe it patched wrong so i deleted it and went back to the old exe.

Now im getting an error on startup immediately saying it can't load System.def (in other words, memory)

For me it took like 3-5 minutes for it to run the first time.
CPU: Intel I7-6700 2.60ghz
GPU: GTX-970m
RAM: 12gbs

You sure you dont have anything heavy running?

If those are the specs u need to run this then thats rediculous. Thats what ud need to run a AAA game nowadays at 60FPS and no dips.

Im sure, i've tried launching it just after boot so nothing else is running. I'll try again but i dont think it'll work.

Edit: Nope, its been over 5 minutes and still infi loads. Nothing else is open.

The crazy part is that it doesn't even LOOK that ram heavy from what i've seen, hell Valeri Flux + Ascend Heaven looked more heavy and i could at least run that albeit it took about a 30 - 40 secs to launch each time.

MUGEN isn't coded very well, so I don't expect it to be very optimized, either. This doesn't surprise me, really.

With that said, if there are elements you can combine, then do it. Function/method calls are very expensive, no matter the language.
