720p Screenpack and Lifebars for MUGEN 1.1Currently building.Will come in 3 varieties; "Basic" which needs no editing on the characters part, "Custom" which will have custom ports and visual stage select and "Custom Advanced" which is top secret but you'll at least need a rudimentary understanding of photoshop and fighter factory to use to it's full potential.100 slots, 10 hidden CPU slots.This screenpack will be completely plug n' play.PSDs will be released separately so people can edit the menu slideshow.
I assume you will try to make the portrait slideshow easily customizable like Legacy did by providing menu ports?
I have split opinion about this one - part of me likes it, how everything is placed, font, blues, and part of me dislikes grayness of it. Don't know, I'd tried placing snowy BG instead of solid gray, kinda asks for it... Either way - looks interesting
I feel as if some plasma, static-ish background would be more dramatic than a snowy one, would be closer to the original themes of CVS.
The grey is just a color because I didn't want to post it transparent.It doesn't have a bg right now.
Hehehe, oops, well, than even more point in looking forward for this screenpack then. With plasma in snowstorm perhaps? ;-D

I know it might be a bit early for the lifebars, but I feel like you could definitely take inspiration from V-Nix when it comes to the custom ported variants.
V-nix did always have some creative Lifebars, hell even the latest ones you made could work "Infinite Dream" was a sick one. By the way I sent you some stuff.

Who is the screenpack built for?Generally, screenpacks work with mostly everything, except in very rare circumstances (like lifebars having space to place/making room for certain character systems (P-Card system, Stand System, Burst System, Additonal Lifebars)
Weird seeing Kaede since he hasn't had a CVS conversion (unless someone has one hidden deep), I'd rather have Haohmaru or maybe Hibiki since she was in CVS2.

Progress:Hungry Wolf's bg animation was 450 frames, so I used every fifth frame.I had decided on character select slot amounts a few days ago:120 for the basic version.80 for the custom version.40 for the advanced version.There will be 50 hidden cpu slots as usual for my later releases.These numbers are final and you cannot convince me to change them, so don't even try.
80 is perfect already! Huge roster. :p My final mugen is maybe coming, thanks to you! God I can't wait..

I will be coming back to this, but i'll be stripping back on a lot of things.- No more of this 3 Versions stuff, it will now be based off the "Basic Version" build only.- There will be ~120 available character slots, with 10 hidden slots for bosses/cpu characters.- Animations will be stripped back. I will most probably pass on using Hungry Wolf's background animation.- Lifebars will be standard, rather than edited from add004.Expect a character select design soon.

Okay, here's some work:Nothing much of note here.I don't actually know if I can pull off that team mode menu.I will also add code into the system.def for MugenHook's sliding portrait feature. If you don't want that feature, don't install MugenHook.Default large ports will also work with this select screen, but I recommend using custom large ports to swag out.100 characters is a comfy amount, also 10 hidden characters.Also, removing Hungry Wolf's anims reduced my .sff size by 66% and reduced loading time by almost 40 seconds on my laptop.
Main Menu is coded, select screen is being coded... right now actually.I'm also 90% sure I can pull the Team Menu off.

Select Screen is functionally complete:A couple things to note:- I fiddled around a bit with the sliding portraits and left the code in system.def commented out. It works to a degree, but I've found in multiplayer modes that the effect doesn't work in sequence (it will only work for whoever triggers it first). Again, the MugenHook thing is up to the end user but the numbers are there and correct.- If you go the custom port route, then port size will be 640x420. The title bar takes some 85 pixels off the top. The diamonds extend out 165 pixels from the corners and are layerno=1. You don't need a template for this.

The SP is too good to be left with the ugly pixelated small ports.With some consistent art this can be an anbsolute banger on the select screen if custom ports are used.

I started using the legacy SP when I registered. I still use it.People using SP's with Custom ports then to use them far more because they invest time making the portraits.Also again the SP is damn good looking. People have 3000 options for normal SP's Custom good ones are a rarity.

I don't mind making portraits as long as they aren't insanely complicated with various effects and layers and require precise positioning. I just don't have the time to sit down in PS and spend time making ports. Especially if you have a large roster with 200+ characters. I love custom port SP's but not when they are complicated.
I'm OK making custom portraits. I don't mind the small portraits being regular boxes. Large portraits make a big difference in the overall appeal, so custom ones there would look great. The only downside of custom portraits is a lack of good artwork for obscure characters which ruins the fun of making them, sometimes.

Typically if you have custom ports for small, it also usually means less slots as the ports are usually bigger. Re: Custom PortsLast time I'm going to talk about this. You can modify the screenpack to have custom large ports by changing port scales to .3334, .3334, and making your own templates, it's not hard. For small ports, well you're shit out of luck, the lifebars will be using port 9000,0.Begging me to make customs is over. We had that poll already. I was never considering stage fonts for this.
