I suppose I'm more excited for SF X Tekken, But I love both franchises, and can hardly wait for both regardless.

I think that Tekken characters are more suitable in a 2D environment than SF characters in a 3D game, that's just my opinion. I mean Tekken 1 and 2 were more like 3D games with 2D gameplay, and it worked well. The mechanics of Capcom's games I think would just work better, and the way the characters would be created for SFIV style I think would be better than seeing the SF characters in a Tekken 6 style, but who knows, that could all work out once they show some of their stuff off.

Adding to your point, some (if not most) never sidestep in Tekken games.

I'm more of a Street Fighter fan, and I'm very interested on seeing my favorite characters in a different enviroment, so TxSF for me, from the moment they were announced. It sounds like Namco could make an awesome game with this. And, seeing the Tekken elements that SFxT is taking, I wonder what SF elements TxSF may take.

To tell the truth, "3D fighting games" typically have have 1D gameplay, with left/right being the only real developed dimension (jump and sidestep are more like special states, like dodges in 2D games), except for positioning on the ring. Not that it's a bad thing, as the games are built under that premise and have great depth on their movelists.
