Possibly less when the words "linux" and "install" are bandied about. People prefer "drop this on your HDD and play"

I'd do that, if i had a PS3, and any inclination of playing mugen vs people on it. Which i wouldn't.

KoFXII is a diff matter.

Really, just install Linux on your PS3 and use Linmugen.

It's not that simple to use LinMugen because LinMugen isn't written for the same instruction set as PS3.  You likewise would be able to run an x86 Linux on top of PS3 Linux via Qemu, but I haven't come across nor looked for how to do that.  Biggest problem still remains to be that the hypervisor protects the GPU from being used.

Worst you can do is screw up your Linux partition.  The PS3 partition might even be protected by the hypervisor.
