Hello again fellas! Okay so lately I've been playing some good ol' Final Fantasy 7, and as such I've been frequently playing as Infinite's Cloud in Mugen. As some of you may already know, I already changed up the stance for him.

But after playing FF7 I decided to edit some other things too. There's not a whole lot I've done, but here's what I've completed if you guys are interested. I gave him some new palettes from some of his more prevalent appearances in the series, edited a lot of his attacks to make them blend in more to his stance, as well as changed the look of them a bit. Changed up one of his win-poses with some new sprites, to make it resemble his win-pose in FF7. Here's some of the stuff.
Intro
Old New edited intro:

Also felt like seeing if I could give him a different taunt.

In his new win-pose, his speed is supposed to compensate for the increase of sword spins, however the image doesn't seem to want to upload it with that speed. It spins a lot faster in-game trust me.
EDIT: Okay fixed it, it's now about as fast as it should be.

Sorry I don't know how to put things into ZIP folders on here...

To zip files in your computer:

-> right click on something (I would suggest a folder with all the files);
-> "add to an archive...";
-> a window appears, you can decide the settings (.zip or .rar and many others);
-> press "Ok";
-> you get a .rar (or a .zip, depending on the settings).

Then you upload the .rar/.zip, and that's it.

The new edited intro loses that "weight effect" when he goes in the stance. I can't describe it, compare the original with yours.
But you can see it in the new taunt (the movement on the legs and on the sword, the weight on everything).

I checked the .sff and there isn't the Win Pose sprite you made.

I gotcha. Okay how's this?
As for the ZIP folder, I'll give it a try.
Also that's rather strange that the win-pose sprite isn't implemented. I'll just upload the stuff again.

It was kind of something that came with the original sprites. I've thought about extending the handle on all of them, but it'slightly tedious. I'll do it some time.

I don't think he holds his sword up in the air long enough in the intro, and your winpose looks... bad. There's no transition sprite, whereas his turning in the old one is really well sprited.

Those black lines in cloud's pants look off, its especially noticeable when Cloud's wearing lighter colored pants and shit. Those lines seem to only appear in your custom sprites.

Fixed. http://www.mediafire.com/download/9k1a2tx99txz1r0/Cloudfixedsprite117.zip
Changed links again.
I haven't fixed it for the alternate win-pose yet, I'll probably do that tomorrow. Nice profile pic btw. I love Oney's videos.

Okay so despite editing much of this character, I don't think I'm done quite yet. Lately his walk has been really throwing me off. It completely disrupts the flow of his two handed stance, by walking normally with just one hand and well, I just don't like it personally. As much as I want to move on to Link, I feel like I should get this little thing out of the way.

So I think I'll go ahead and work a little more on his walk to make it more like of a sort of dash/slide thingy. It might look better with his double handed stance. I'm wanting something like this

Only maybe not as awkward, jittery and fast.
Wouldn't mind changing up his run to.

Sure, no problem man. :) It is your character after all. Oh and I wanted to ask you something regarding cloud's "Finishing touch" move. I was looking around in his animations, and it looked as  though the orginal move was not going to just be a projectile tornado, but a move that brings the opponent in the air, spinning and hits them down, similar to his Finishing Touch in FF Dissidia. However it looks as though you gave up on the coding of that special, and just stuck to the projectile tornado, probably do to tedious complications with the coding. So I wanted to know if maybe we could try to implant that move again in your next update. The animation for the move looks pretty sweet I think. Of course, you don't have to if the coding was too frustrating. Just asking if we can do that when you use this stuff for your next update.

Hey Gohan, really liking what you're doing with Cloud here. I loved Infinite's Cloud before, but that stance really killed the character for me (not that that's Infinite's fault or anything!!). You're doing really good work with this and what you've been doing with Link's sprites. Well done!

Anyway, there seems to be some problem with your new winpose. Check out the eyes in the last frame, when he has the sword on his shoulder. For some reason they become transparent/lose their color. Just thought I'd let you know, and keep up the good work!

Are you absolutely sure his eyes are transparent? I've looked in FF3, but I don't see it. Maybe it's just the gif on here. Anyway thanks! And yeah, believe me I had the same problem with his stance. So much so, that I just flat out changed it. :p
Anyway THE OPERATION WAS A SUCCESS EVERYONE! I'm really proud of the animation. I didn't think It'd come out right. Here have a look at Cloud's new walk! ...Or um slide..

Anyway before I get started on the run, I have a request, can someone help me figure out how to make pauses in his walk. As you can see, he stops after every slide, however the programming keeps him moving even when he stops for a moment. I just want to know if someone can help me make him pause after every stop.

Okay, you're right that it doesn't seem wrong in Fighter Factory (taking into account my limited knowledge of the program... only done a few sound edits here and there.); however, something definitely isn't right with the eyes on that last frame in game. Using palette 9 (white hair with red and black eyes), his eyes go completely greyscale. I'm gonna keep picking through FF and get back to you if I find something. Like how the walk is turning out.

Edit: Okay, check it out. View sprite 218 in FF with any palette on. The proper colors should show. Viewing sprites 219 and 220 show incorrect colors (especially when using a palette with off colors for the eyes, such as the red/black combo on palette #9... it seems to be much less noticeable on the default palette.), however as far as I can tell the colors on the palettes are all correct. I feel like there's something obvious that should be jumping out at me here, but again, not really a master of this program. Hope this helps!

Odds are, the colors for his eyes might just be incorrect, or switched with a similar color of the palette, on these specific sprites. Thanks for telling me. No problem, I'll fix them after I finish his whole walk thing. The animation is done, but when he does a slight dash and stops, the character keeps moving. I need a way to delay movement for some of his frames. Have him move, then stop, then move, etc.

Okay everyone, so with some much needed assistance from the kind and awesome Alex Sinigaglia, Cloud's slide is now fully implemented and looks pretty good too. So we have that, AND a new run. Also fixed a lot of palette problems, but not all. Most are fixed now though. I wanted to try and get his run from Dissidia, with it looking like this. (Although his handle is way longer in this game.)

So here's a look.

Old:

New:

Well I think I've done quite enough with Cloud for now, and can now play as him with no personal issues myself. Think it's about time I got back to Link's stance. Feel free to get Cloud here. http://www.mediafire.com/download/9k1a2tx99txz1r0/Cloudfixedsprite117.zip
Of course, you can all also wait until the awesome Infinite Crisis updates him too.

Yeah sorry bout that. Since his handle didn't provide much space to grab, like in Dissidia, I had to lengthen out his arm to fit both hands on the handle. It looks lots better in game, and happens fast too, so it's a little hard to notice.

The colorization on his shirt is messed up in one of the walk frames. I noticed it with the red shirt palette.

Screenshot for reference. Happens with the other palettes too, looking at it in FF3, Sprite 117.

If you guys have this problem where this randomly happens with his ducking, just open it up in FF3 and switch this palette to 1 and hit the this button.

That should fix that little thing.

Hi, I really like the effort you put into making this, but something is bothering me, is it just me but don't you think that there should be some adjustment in the arm area? Perhaps some spriters could answer my question but for me his edited arm looks like a log of wood. Am I the only one seeing this?

Okay, so I'm assuming most of the issues had to do with the shape of the arm, so how's this?

Also, are you referring to the both the old and new stances, or just the new stance?
