How many characters can I nominate?
6. There is a maximum of 20 candidates for any given month.
What in case of draw?Usually, both character would get the victory. Do you suggest some sort of tie breaker or something?
How many characters can I nominate? As said, you can nominate as much as you want, but there can only be 20 candidates.
GG Rajaa. An average of about 28 people vote on Mugen Infantry because half of the users don't know anything except random insanity. Unfortunately, I'm still giving M.I. a chance to redeem itself (unlike many others). So, I am still going to do it there for the time being.
Are you gonna stop doing MI's? Lulz.
Always I though this was MI only, good to see this here in Guild :DWe stole it and we're going to make it better.
And add one more feature: after a finalist spawns have somebody write a full review on it :)That sounds like a really good idea. I don't know if I'd be up for reviewing every character, but it's a nice idea. We'll see after the end of this month. :)
A tie breaker seems good...What in case of draw?Usually, both character would get the victory. Do you suggest some sort of tie breaker or something?

Will there be a CotM January/February '11?Does everyone thing there should be? I don't mind running three polls at the same time.
A tie breaker seems good...What kind of tie breaker?
Put both chars on mugen, select watch mode, the one with the best AI shall prevail... 8)Lol. A funny, but impractical solution!
...and yeah if one char is KOF style and the other GGXX style then the KOF one will be in a world of pain :P

I hope that was sarcasm.

people should be restricted to a certain number of nominations, otherwise they pretty much nominate everything, it's quite weird to see up to 8 nominations on a single post, and the user may post again nominating even more --;I fucking posting a link to the guidelines and even posted a fucking example of how to post in the thread. Fucking people don't read shit. Likes it's hard to read the post before yours. And restricting nominations is a good idea; it will take effect next month.
What about a template about how to post here? Because to be honest it's quite easier if we use numbers instead of words to indicate how many nominations a character has, something like:
Goku Z2 by Alexlexus - 1
that would be fine by me, and it's quite easy to keep track of the number instead of having to read the beggining of every nomination carefully.
Where :???:Goku Z2 by Alexlexus - 1:wink3:
Put both chars on mugen, select watch mode, the one with the best AI shall prevail... 8)OH NOES D: Why the AI should prevail?? That's unfair >:(
We stole it and we're going to make it better. :twisted:I like that, keep going
I think not necessarily you've to make the review, also you can designate someone to make it. Oh, and I think it's a good idea about review for the winner, too :PAnd add one more feature: after a finalist spawns have somebody write a full review on it :)That sounds like a really good idea. Treatment CacoonaWhat ?
Fighting Toys FreakWho ?
SonicMVCDear God
LordYamilwho ?
are two best characters.... right?whatever you want ::)
You can use your brain.I will nominate my brain.
I guess I will have to do something, then. Sounds like a good idea. :)So, where's this banner ? :)
Should I come up with a new award (image) for every new year? That sounds like a good idea to differentiate the years, but given how slowly you make the current ones... well, you'll probably only finish this time next year.
I assume this is Z2 related?

I've seen a few months where the same author is nominated for 3-4 characters which play style and gameplay were not very different from the other. To me things like this make COTM look not as deserving a reward as it should be. It shows just throwing more quantity then quality is a good thing, which it isn't and shouldn't be.But how many times did the person who released 3-4 chars in the same month and got nominated actually won in the end ? If in the end, he gets 19 nominated chars and none of them wins, it means that quantity is not a very big factor.
considering the race example he might have more chances to win with less.
the only reason i think it's unfair is because people that get more than one nomination have a smaller chance of winning
how often does it really happen such a thing that a decent creator releases things every month? that doesnt sound like something that would be feasibly negative.
if the cotm hall of fame is accurate then infinite has never won two months in a row

I mean, it's an online prize, just a gif, it's not like money or something material. I don't see why change something that works. And especially considering that the current system already has rules that confuse users. I don't know why, it's quite simple, but ShinZankuro always puts a - 3 in his nominations, and Yagoshi300 usually makes a - 4 on his posts :/
:(That might not be a bad idea actually.
I didn't even notice this thread was here. I would have voted the waterfall, because of its gorgeous original Spritework.
Maybe the active threads should be in the main boards with more traffic, and this section should be for archiving purposes.
But COTM was doing almost fine! There was no need to move that thread. If one was going to be moved might as well move them all. It shouldn't hurt the current awards.
Bimestral, quarterly and semestral awards wouldn't work either. The problem with SOTM is that it failed to make the general public feel any hype, the only people nominating things are contestants themselves; longer voting periods would only make the actual contest more forgetable to the average user.
