Since we are in a mugenforum

How will you rip a sprite from a streamed game?

Welcome to cloud gaming!

Oh yeah, that's a real armageddon scenario right there.  Good thing you sounded the alarm when you did.

Its not a serious problem for future mugen creations based on ripped sprites?

Simple. You download the game. (because cloud gaming is just another option, it's not gonna replace actually downloading the game itself)

Then you extract the files or whatever technical voodoo is done.

As long as it is just another option its totally fine i agree, but i doubt it wont replace downloading in a couple of years

Or can you imagine downloading 40-50GB big games? Internet went faster of course but most regions still have only like 6mb connections

worrying about ripping stuff for mugen instead of the well being of the game industry is hilarious.

I'd like to take this opportunity to point out that every game that was a digital download (SF2 HDR, XBL version of Neogeo Battle Coliseum, Dark Awake just to name a few) got everything ripped.

Because the story is open-ended and extremely interesting?

I only tried to bring up an argument which is related to mugen since we are on a mugen related forum ^^ Personally i didnt play Mugen since years now, i wouldnt care a lot about the negative aspects of cloud gaming to the mugen community but thought that example shows one of the many small negative sides of cloud gaming.

My personal reason to be totally against cloud gaming is that i dont have any form of the files at home..be it on physical media or at least the files, but i prefer having the physical media.

Cloud gaming means only renting the right to play a game, and if your internet has connection issues well you are screwed. Worse is that you dont rent the rights for a "life time" ..instead you are only renting them for a amount of time and you cant be sure you will be able to play game xxx again in 5 years since it can be the company doesnt support that game anymore since only a small group of people still plays it.

cloud gaming sounds like a pretty good deal to me. it will make hardware dirt cheap, everything will be platform independent (goodbye windows, lol), cheating in online games will become a lot harder, it will get rid of the need for obtrusive drm methods...

it's win-win for everyone I think.

Trying to make the argument "but but mugen" was weird.  you make it sound as if you think anyone that is into mugen actually would think such an argument would be valid and not dumb.
Cloud computing sounds pretty good of an idea where you are always online, but its limited by the ideal connection speed thing. there would be a need for a balance for what you could do online and off, or just be perpetually online, like you do with things like iphone. ( you can be offline, but you are not using half the potential )
