They need to let Melee die already.

With "hardcore" smash fans still fapping to it? It's the same case with Marvel.

I thought uniel was more popular??
You mean Unib, right?
EVO is american, remember? Unib hasn't gotten a chance to be mainstream here.

Still a better choice than T7 which doesn't even have a console release yet, but I guess they needed that 3D fighter slot.

....which says a lot for DOA5.

No, he meant UNIEL.
And until GOD'S GIFT it's been like one of the most played anime fighters right underneath BB.

And it's about to get even more exposure since it's coming out in the west soonish.

melee brings in viewers and has an active community. mvc2 and sf3 were the same way for years. for me theres no issue with it, but i can see the issue with 4

Haven't played UNIEL yet, feel like I'm missing out. :(

4's a newer game, naturally they'd give it a chance. Guess they either want to cash in on Melee again or they're not confident on how 4 will be received (probably both, moreso the former). As for Tekken, Evo used to feature arcade machines before so it's not that abnormal. The issue of course is overseas players not having easy access to the game.

Quote
Under Night In-Birth takes place in a fictional modern-day setting some time in the 21st century.

A phenomenon called the Hollow Night has been enveloping particular regions of Japan once a month for several centuries. Each area engulfed in the Hollow Night is beset by shadow-like creatures called Voids that utilize and feed upon a power known as "Existence", or EXS. Normal humans cannot see or come into contact with Voids, but certain people have the potential to perceive them.

Those who acquire this perception are targeted by Voids and risk either being consumed by them or losing their sanity. Under special circumstances, a person who maintains their sanity after being attacked by a Void can become a being known as an In-Birth. While this status places a person into a sort of limbo where they are neither living nor dead, they also gain the ability to control Existence. The protagonist, Hyde, is one character who survived a Void attack and became an In-Birth.

How they pitched this to someone, and that person decided to fund this project based on the explanation is beyond me.

Same way BlazBlue did: "Oh you did [Melty Blood]? Sure, okay."
Nevermind, there's nothing I can do
Bet your life there's something killing you
It's a shame we have to die, my dear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time
What a way to go, but have no fear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time
It's a shame we have to disappear
No one's getting out of here alive
This time, this time, this time

UNIEL's plot is pretty much trash (Bleach anyone?), the gameplay is amazing though, everyone should pick the game up whenever it comes out here.

  • Build it, shape it, by my will.
Wait, why Love Max?  What happened to Six Stars?

Is that Koihime I see?  That's unexpected.
