Valodim said, June 22, 2012, 10:43:07 amSounds like a good idea, for when one needs a quick :QCF:Well I meant like, when you click that "[more]" smiley button, and a window pops out and automatically inserts the smiley you want. It'd be easier for everyone so they don't need to memorize or try to figure out what makes what command every time they want to use them.
not sure if i should post this here but , here i go , i get a malware detection warning on this page http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=141324.0
This is really annoying. I'm assuming you are using Chrome? It's probably some avatar or image on some other page that was flagged as containing malware. I really wonder what the Chrome devs are thinking I don't have chrome installed, can someone please pinpoint the exact offending url?

no it's the url of an avatar or image that appears on that page c001357: uh. do you mean the IE9 thing? or what?
I tried to find it, but once I accepted that I might get attacked by the malicious website, the warning didn't appear anymore. I don't know how to get rid of the exception on Chrome. Too lazy to find out how.Yeah, this post wasn't any help.

c001357 said, June 23, 2012, 05:37:06 pmi was talking about the separate column idea butnevermindstill on about that? hum.The problem I have with this design option is that in most forums, it would result in an empty or next to empty column, because there are no preview images. And I'd prefer not to special-case the release forum themes.
Since we're bringing up old stuff:Valodim said, November 27, 2008, 03:54:45 pmAlso fools. You know what would be a great mod? One that - for specific users - didn't save their posts in the database, but instead only as session data and displays them as normal. That way only the user himself would see them but noone else, later he may or may not notice they are gone (after the session expired) and complain about it in another post..I'd call it "Asshole Mod Mod" Who knows maybe it's already in there

Rajaa said, June 25, 2012, 12:10:18 amThat one is extremely difficult to implement because it's incompatible with how the database was originally designed. No dice.
Ok so here's a little bit of info about the current search. To make indexing of almost a million posts feasible without too much of a hit on the server, I am using a seperate search daemon called sphinxsearch. Sphinx can do a lot of stuff and has a flexible search syntax, as documented here. However the smf search api thing limits a couple of things and makes it simpler, so that simple exclusion of terms like -blah works like with the regular search. The api version is kinda old, but there are license problems and the development halted, plus it was private to begin with:http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=362206.msg2473561#msg2473561But um, it works fine for me?
