Think, if mugen were on steam, the community could make characters in the workshop, mugen could be most famous, is just an idea what do you think?

Really?, if someone gonna greenlight a M.U.G.E.N it need to be clear (No custom Chars, stages, screenpacks or any other shit) only Kung Fu Man, training room and Mountainside temple.

eh....

1) Elecbyte is not active
2) MUGEN's reputation as an engine right now is nil, its just everything vs. everybody simulator
3) Would require totally original content, which a majority of creators are not familiar with
4) Lack of core features right now/online play

Yep, and those situations probably used the most blatant copyrights too, i.e. Peter Griffin, Big Bird, etc. Pretty much everyone's first experience of mugen uploaded straight to it. It didn't even have a custom screenpack lol.

I do not see the benefit of a Steam version of MUGEN... well, I only see one and that's greater exposure...
However, MUGEN would not gain any ~~more~~better support than it already has... if anything, it'd be a larger pile of half-assed content to wade through for quality characters/plugins.

Not to mention that achievement nonsense would be embarrassing for such a community run product.

I do believe MUGEN is one of those things that's better off discovering and delving into for yourself.

I don't think MUGEN on Steam is a good idea to begin with. I've no idea what Steam is what-so-ever but one thing for sure, MUGEN can't be on Steam. Results may come the very wrong way and even if it was to be on Steam, it won't go very far and won't last not even a day. Like Tsunamidusher said, it's meant to be discovered for your own entertainment.
