Title: is photoshop or paintshop needed?
Post by: zizzdude on August 27, 2007, 07:05:53 am
hey all, since I didn't have any of the recommended software used, I used GIMP and made my sprite sheet. But what I'm wandering is how to make the palette compatible to my sprite sheet. thanks.  :)

No any image editor that can handle palettes should do.

cool. thanks. the only problem is that GIMP uses gpl palette files. Is there another image editor that would generate palettes for me like on photoshop?

yeah, I have it, but I'm not sure how to make the pals, cuz I need to convert it to 256 colors. Is there a way to do that with Irfanview?

yeah you take the image and use the decrease color depth option to reduce it to 256 colors.  Then go to the palette options and export the palette.

ok, I made the palette for the sprite sheet, and converted it to act. But when I put the act file and image in fighter factory, it says they are not compatible.  ???
