Title: Ultimate Zangief (Big Update)

My first completed character. I released the beta a few years ago and then quit working on him. A few weeks ago I decided to try and finsh him and now it's done. Zangief's gameplay is similar to Capcom's VS series. The read me file contains Zangief's movelist.

Ultimate Red Cyclone : F, DF, D, any two kick buttons (level 1 power) (must be done in the air)

Final Atomic Buster : circle motion & any two punch buttons together. (level 1 power)

Soviet Power : B, D, F, any two kick bottons together.  (level 1 power)

Ultimate Final Atomic Buster : F, D, F, any two punch buttons  (level 3 power)

Spinning pile driver : cicle motion & any punch button

Mad Charge : B, D, F, any kick button

Spinning clothesline : Any two punch buttons together

Communist Fist : Any two kick buttons together

Violent palm : F, D, F, any punch button

------Throws------

Body Slam : hold forward then hit strong kick
Suplex : hold forward then hit medium kick
Bite : hold forward then hit light kick  (mash buttons only to get extra hits)
Stomach Pump : hold forward + down then hit strong kick  (mash buttons only to get extra hits)
Back Slam : hold forward then hit strong punch
Pile Driver : hold forward then hit medium punch
Face Smash : hold forward then hit light punch  (mash buttons only to get extra hits)
Flip Throw : hold forward + down then hit medium punch
Ally-Oop : hold forward + down then hit strong punch
Red Cyclone : hold forward then hit strong kick  (must be done in the air)
Air Plie Driver : hold forward then hit strong punch  (must be done in the air)


------Special Techniques------

Close standing weak chop can hit laying down opponents many times
Taunt can hit laying down opponents many times
Crouching weak kick can hit down opponents a few times
The Press : hold forward and hit strong punch  (this attack can only be blocked by standing guard)
Knee Drop : hold down and hit weak kick  (must be done in the air)
Splash : hold down and hit strong punch  (must be done in the air)

lovin the screenies...that arm drop looks painful! downloading. lol

when i go to download. it opens up my google account with ur zaneif file completely open. its weird....can u post on another hosting site?

Hannibal, if you open that Google+ page and go to File > Download (or just ctrl+S) it downloads the char as a zip, so not every file seperate ;)
Nice char, though the crouching punches have some alignment issues. The Ultimate Atomic Buster is...quite elaborate, but it feels very slow and too drawn out (and the sky-high background bugs at one point). But nice effort!

Dude!! This is very cool and crazy unique. While I didn't get to download him yet, did you include a Mech-Zangief palette?? That would be awesome if you did.

Thanks guys! I updated Zangief to fix the alignment of his crouching punchs. Fixed a  problem with bindtime with mountains backdrop for LvL 3 Hyper Combo. Fixed the issue with Zangief being 1.0 compatible with storyboard intro/endings by making two seperate downloads. Thanks for the feedback.  :D

Is this Zangief based on any game play, like VS, or original?

- U-Zangief's glowing fist doesn't deflect projectiles properly, but instead creates a clone of Zangief after being hit by one.

- Spinning lariat can hit opponent multiple times, and opponent still lands safe on ground after being hit.

- on U-Zangief vs a team of 2, during the mecha super move, the BG can be scrolled off by the 4th player.

- after throwing 4th opponent if 2nd opponent is behind him, U-Zangief keeps playing turn anim.

- The Mecha Zangief super move can hit 2 opponents at the start instead of limiting to one. Intentional?

Glowing Palm : I'll look into fixing that.

Spinning Lariot : This is how the VS series Zangief Lariot works so that how I set this one up.

Mecha Hyper : I'll disable it for team battles on the next update.

N mario mentioned a few things i noticed too but you cleared that up with your response....

The only lil nit pick that i think you should consider fixing is the sound effect when he makes the enemy hit a wall. theres a hyper charge sound instead of a wall hit sound :???:....

The sound effects overall i like how you used them though . Good old retro heavy hit sounds :sugoi:

I think you need to do more old school SF characters like this man lol "Electro style!!"

That super elbow drop move was hilarious man haha

im curious now how youd do ryu, Balrog or M bison

The idea behind the the Mech Zangief super is awesome, but the whole move doesn't look dynamic enough, as if every single thing was done is super slow motion.

Yep, Just a difference in how the intro and ending storyboards are set up.

I Updated Zangief :

1 : Can no longer do Zangief's lvl 3 during Simul modes.

2 : Fixed Glowing Palm.

3 : Rearranged Palettes

4 : Updated sprites/updated ending.

5 : Mech Zangief sprites are now linked to the palette

Big update to Zangief. I added in a new air hyper called the Ultimate Red Cyclone, which also morphs into Mech Zangief. I also added two new air throws. One of them is the normal Red Clyclone and the other is a Air Pile Driver. I added a new custom intro called Hammer and Sickle. The intro is only for Zangief's stages. The older hyper called Soviet Power is now Interactive on Zangief stages and Slam Masters LA stages. I just updated these stages today to be compatible with this version of Zangief. Added a new palette called Conan the Barbarian. I also fixed whats on the list below.

Some nitpicks from me

*Lv3 is a bit slow,I think it can be faster,especially when he drops you in the end,he can start of slow and then go faster for more impact

*I think it would be cool to have different voice options like the alpha voice or sf4 ones

Btw I love the stage interactivity you have,great work
