Brazil has a lot of Japanese people thanks to a strong immigration from Japan to here in the early 1900s. A Japanese name or surname isn't out of place.
But Spanish? Really? Brazil never had any significant Spanish immigration, mostly because the rest of the continent was colonized by the Spaniards while we were colonized by the Portuguese.

Names aside, holy shit Banderas looks pretty sick just by looking at his moveset :D Glad to see Mai back and on its more iconic look, the new belt looks pretty slick.

Man, I need to get this.

I don't see a problem with him having a spanish name. Does it really matter?

Mai looks sublime. I like her proportions. I was very scared that Mai wouldn't volumtious with this new style that they had of skiny and slim people but she lookin' fine.
Banderas looks fun, he gave me a Bang feeling for some reason. Must be the pants.
And, OMG WAS THAT A FULLY VOICE ACTED PRE-FIGHT DIALOGUE?!!

I think expecting japan to nail most things about foreign places is asking for a bit much lol

To someone not from brazil probably not but for Bia I imagine it's a bit of a faux pas

But it's not like Banderas is the only character with a name that's not from their country :P (Athena and Joe aren't Japanese names for example).

I was thinking the same of both of those. I was worried they would ruin the ride by giving Mai ridonculous cow tits (Bea forgot to shake her fist, so it must be okay lol). And I kinda got a Bang vibe from Banderas as well.

Supposedly the South American stages takes place at the Triple Frontier, so decent chance than not all of them are Brazilian anyway. I mean, they're not called the Brazil team.

Antonio Banderas looks pretty neat but I kinda hoped they'd get more creative with Mai's outfit. They've redesigned a lot of the characters so far but I guess they felt Mai was just to iconic to change or so.

It's not much the matter of having a foreign name, it's the fact that such foreign name is Spanish. Brazilians in general (myself included) take insult to have our language mistaken for Spanish.

Zoro Bandidas was described as a "Brazilian ninja" in the leak. And that's not as in a practitioner of Brazilian Ninjutsu, because Brazilian Ninjutsu isn't like fantasy ninjas who teleport and shit. So it seems that it's actually intended a ninja from Brazil - or at least, it was in the leaks. One way or the other, it was taken too literally (either as a ninja from Brazil or as in Brazilian Ninjutsu = teleports).
(well, then again, he does look like a fucking moron who watched Chipp Zanuff too hard)
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
