This move should be able to be rapid fired.This move can be blocked standing and crouched.This will mostly used for up close combo starters. Can be special/super canceled for example ; lets say you do a standing L.P then do the correct inputs for a spirit gun. The spirit gun should come out. Crouching low punch :
This move should count as a normal attack can be blocked both standing and crouched. Is special/super cancel able. This will be use for starting up combos quickly. Standing medium punch
Should be able to be linked with another Standing medium if timed right and also linked to a medium kick, and standing heavy punch. For example ; Here is a combo that should work, St .MP,St Mp, St Mk. When i say linked i mean linked not like easily mashed buttons but something that requires a bit of timing. Can be special/super canceled. Should be able to use this for Anti Air and gives a decent amount of damage not to much though. Standing heavy punch:
Should be able to be special/super cancel up close and not from far away. gives a good amount of damage and stun. Good for starting hard hitting combos. Should be able to be linked into such as : St MP. St. HP
Standing low kick:
This move can be special/Super canceled. Can be linked two times if timed right. Example of a good combo with l.k ; St.lp 3X, st.lk, spirit gun. This should be used for punishing dropped combos from the opponent similar to yang's low kick.Should be a bit hard to link two st L.k together. Crouching Low kick:
Can only be blocked low. Should be able to rapid fire this move. basic combo with this should be : cr.lp, cr.lp , cr lk. can not be special cancel able but is super cancel able.Should be pretty easy to link this one. Good for pushing the opponent back.
Standing medium kick:
Is special/super cancel able but only for one frame of the attack! Should be kinda of difficult to cancel this into a special/super. Good for spacing and playing footsies.Can be linked into. For example (st. mp. st. mk , rapid punch)
Standing heavy kick-
Anti air. Good for stopping jumping opponents also hits twice second hit is a mid attack that can only be blocked standing. Is not special/super cancel able. Good for keeping opponents out of the air.
Crouching medium kick-
Is special/super cancel able this move should work like ryu's crouching medium kick. Good for spacing and keeping the opponent out.
Fwd Standing Heavy kick: Fwd+ h.k *This attack can be charged*!
If held this moves becomes focus attack like moves which can take one hit before hit animation. If fully charged will result in a wall bounce. Which the opponent will be able to be juggled. If not fully charged this move becomes a overhead mid attack. So a crouching opponent can not block this attack if not fully charged.
Spirit gun : df.f. any punch * This attack can be charged*
This a projectal move in which yusuke shots a blast across screen. It can be charged and as 5 different levels of charge.
01. 1 hit no push back on yusuke and faster recovery
02. 1 Hit and knock down push back slower recovery
03. 2 hits and knock down push back slower recovery
04. 3 hits and knock down push back slower recovery
05. 4 hits and knock down push back slower recovery
The charged can be canceled with a press of a punch button and next time you start off with the same out of power you canceled at.
Ex spirit gun : df.f, two punches
This version has a bit of a slow start up but does cause a wall bounce. Which opens up combo opportunities. Takes some meter.

Rapid Fist: 5 hits input: rapidly press any punch five times for this move! exactly like Chun li's rapid kicks and E. Honda's Slaps
Description :
Rapid punch only comes out when player does 5 repeated button presses of any punch very fast. Depending on which version is used effects the damage and the push back of the attack does. For example the Hp Version push back is the best which would make this safe on block. The push back should be less and less for each lower version. Ex version does push back but allows enough space so Standing medium kick and be linked. After st, mk is linked yusuke can go back into rapid fist.
Yusuke has options he can do after a hit or block hit of rapid fist. All options should be done before the 4th hit of the rapid fist attack. Each options take up meter from the special gauge.
Rapid fist option 1- Launcher
inputs before 4th hit of rapid fist. Down, Down-back, Back+ low punch
Launches the opponent in the air where he can be combo in the air or on the ground. Yusuke's gets four juggle hits after the launcher.
Air Spirit Gun- 1 hit Ex Ver two hits
Inputs: Up, Up-forward , Forward + Any punch
This is the air version of yusuke's Spirit gun. Which causes push back on yusuke. The fastest version of this move is the low punch version. medium is the normal speed version and heavy punch version is the slowest but strongest. The ex version is a bit slower then low punch version but faster then the medium version. But on hit the EX Version cause a juggle state. Where the opponent can be hit twice until they hit the ground.
That's Pretty much it from me I will let Rajaa post up everything I forgot! Here are some screenshots!

The gameplay is pretty much going to be Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat gameplay because we wanted something simple.
The following mechanics will be through a configuration file so people can choose.
This will include: EX Specials Power Charge Dodge / Horizontal Dodge Parry / Shield Alpha Counter Chain Combos (with strict limitations)
The following are things that are unique to Yusuke and they will make the character more interesting than your average character with the above mechanics!
- Chargeable Spirit Gun with Megaman-ish capailities - Releasing of Spirit Cuffs which will speed Yusuke up for a brief period of time - He will be compatible with GokuZ2 - He will have a training mode option with Genkai because Thanewdude wants to copy Cybaster and Balthazar! ::) - He will have special eggs that are undisclosed for the moment, so keep your eyes peeled for progress!
We are open to bizarre suggestions for intros and win poses and silly stuff like that!
For those people who want to make palettes. Here is the palette:
*Some colors for the skin are scarcely used FOR NOW, but you should be mindful of them anyway!

That's what I was about to ask.
Having never watched or read Yuyu Hakusho, I unfortunately cannot help you with new moves or specials intros. A special intro VS Goku Z2 would be nice though, to show that they're compatible and all. If somebody has ideas... :)

As per intro to the DBZ Z2 family, if I recall correctly, either Yusuke or Keiko reads Shonen manga? In which case, the DBZ Z2 character can do their usual intro, with Yusuke reading through an issue of Shonen Jump, looks up at the enemy, then remarks how he thought they looked familiar.
Of course, these intros will only do if there is proper audio for it, which I'm not sure....

I should tell you the intros i have planed for yusuke so far.
1. Yusuke is balancing on a spike while genkai is yelling at him telling him he is doing it all wrong. He blast him self off then try's to shot her. She dodges and runs off screen. Yusuke lands and says "damn old hag"
2. Yusuke and keiko yukimura Are standing together and they both point at the opponent and say "Bang!" Then keiko runs off screen.
Win pose
1. Puu flys out and lands on yusuke's head.
2.Yusuke falls down and puu runs and brings him water.
That's pretty much all I have right now. I would love to hear everyone ideas!

Yes We should do something with botan! Of course we are gonna do something her! The demon idea botan sensing a demonic presence is a great idea! that just got added to the list of intros! ;)

Also i am thinking about giving him a arcade story as well. So far i am thinking the story would be strong fighters broke through the dimension and yusuke and botan have to go remove them from his dimension. Or something like that! I could help with that part as well!

If you want me to separate the hair from the belt, I can do that, Jay. It's just flood fill on 500 or so sprites. Would take less than 20 minutes. ;)
Also, for people who are wondering. We are possibly changing the hitsparks and supercharge effects in the future. It's not gonna be just another "Rajaa" character. :P
Also, since it's easy to do, all palettes will be included and configurable. So none will go to waste.

When i started this char it was like....uh 2009 and my skills have grown over time so somethings that look off its most likely because of that.
Yeah i dont know why I didn't think of that when started spriting this guy. I plan on doing all of the arms over in the newer shading style. I have like 200 + sprites now and i dont feel like doing them all over until I finished the character.
I should try to separate the hair as well..Its not to late for that i mean its only one color when i get some free time I will start doing that.

I uploaded the palette template with the hair separated. I didn't actually separate all of the sprites yet, but that's what the palette will look like when I do. Check the second post. I aready updated the submitted palettes, too.

Very nice sprite work here. And with Rajaa on the coding scheme, Yusuke will be great. Looking forward to him. Why when I saw the hitspark with Yusuke kicking Goku, I thought of Kirby? LOL, awesome collaboration guys. This is what makes MUGEN great. :)

we were gonna use the sounds from "Yu Yu Hakusho dark tournament ps2"
as well.
We pretty much got the Japanese voice together but we do need the English voice as well with good quality that will keep Rajaa happy.

I have been working hard on getting better and one day I want to draw all of my stuff like you diepod and balthazar. I will go back after i finish all of sprites! And to cut my work in Half I am continuing the rest with the new arm shading!
About color separation do you guys think we should do some more like for his foot and lower leg.

A question I ment to ask before, just where in the story is this Yusuke taken from? Like Goku Z2, depending where you're basing him from, his skills differ quite a bit as the story went on, from simple punk student who gets killed by a car to an all-powerfull demon. Just curious what he should be able to do and not do as a character here. Will we be seeing some action from the Devil Gun and Mega Devil Gun as well? Or the Spirit Shotgun?

Well this is gonna take place after the dark tournament. When yusuke got back and he was feeling bored before the whole training exercise with Genkai and the other young psychic.
Yusuke will be on a date or something with keiko and have a good time when all of the sudden botan pops up and tells him that there is a Whole in the dimensional wall and Strong fighters are coming Through and its up to him and others to send them back to there dimension!
So every move from the dark tournament saga and back will be up for grabs :twisted:
This story will lead up to the full game story :sugoi: Ooops ::)
I want to make this character very deep with a bunch of cool bells and whistles.
Of course there will be cut scenes even if i have to sprite them my self ;)
I want this character to be similar to goku but different at the same time.
Just keep it secret for now until the showing of a Video ^^ I think they have the episodes on Netflix if not I am sure they have all the episodes and movies on Animefreak.tv
When the time comes and you have some time I can show you how I do my sprites or at least how I am starting to do them now as far as hi res

Well I am soo excited to share with you themes i had made for yusuke.
This makes me realized yusuke needs a story for mugen!
Here is my plan:
The story is gonna take place after the dark tournament. When yusuke got back and he was feeling bored before the whole training exercise with Genkai and the other young psychics.
Yusuke will be on a date or something with keiko and have a good time when all of the sudden botan pops up and tells him that there is a Whole in the dimensional wall and Strong fighters are coming Through and its up to him and others to send them back to there dimension!
All of this should be told like the old CPS 2 endings in X-men vs street fighter.
I like the background idea with it panning while pictures and text appear on screen.

If only we had sound engineers here. When I was in AI I was taking sound engineering with Pro Tools but that was years ago. LOL I dont remember anything now. Im sure you'll (we'll) find sounds to be close as they can be.

Depends on the VA's ability to emulate the official voice. Or, you may just like what you hear and be willing to revamp the voice based off what's heard/sampled entirely.

I can do Linda Young's Frieza yes. I can also do all ages of Gohan as well as Broly. From Bleach I can do Ikkaku and Senbonzakura.My Inuyasha isnt too bad either. Futurama: Philip J Fry , Professor Farnsworth, Zoidberg,and Zapp Brannigan. But Yusuke...you can forget it..that voice is hard as shit to pull off I dunno how the hell Justin does it.. Like its raspy..but yet its smooth and crisp at the same time..Truly a work of art. Kuwabara on the other hand..I havent met anyone yet that cant do that voice lol

Ive actually tried contacting him before concerning a few YYH fandubs..no such luck...Now that I think about it..I do have a friend that does a pretty good Yusuke..But he's EXTREMELY unreliable..

Yeah but I dont want him to be discourage and worrying about the voice when he could be spending that energy on spriting. It takes longer to sprite then having someone act out his voice.

Hey everybody I just wanted to take some time to respond to everything that's been going on. Been pretty busy with life these past few days. But i am happy to see all the post! Thanks for being interested in yusuke!
-Right now I am working on 4 animations for yusuke. I dont wanna post them up until i am finished with them or mostly finished.
- I am also working on making story board graphics using pocket fighter's fonts and trying to make my own "Yu Yu hakusho Neo" background tiles to give it that cps2 look. Which i want the story to be told from "X-man vs Street fighter" story telling point a view.
- I saved all the palettes and like them all so far! Please Keep them coming.
-Trying to work on my drawing skills so i can learn how to animate better and become a overall better pixel artist. My hand drawning skills need plenty of work so I am try to start drawing every day.
-Real life stuff got a bit crazy last weekend. trying to bounce back from that.

Soo happy to be almost done with those needed frames. Next i plan on finishing the counter and parry and air block! new jump animation. Then back to attacks! I might be able to finish all that up next week. ;)
Yea the reason this one took so long was i needed a break to just chill. That's all. But I am back and refreshed! More on the way! Not many of these left! Just Two more sprite blocks! ( A image with like 1-20 sprites) of these system animations. The back to the cooler looking stuff.
Side note! I started drawing pretty much everyday and i am trying to get good enough to draw my own original works! I got a sketchbook and everything! I suck right now! But i will be awesome one day!

Here's the new palette. The hands, ankles, eyebrows, eyeballs, and hair have all been separated (in exchange for dexterity). This is the final palette. All other palettes have unfortunately been trashed, thankfully there weren't that many. So if anyone wants to remake them, here they go.
As far as progress goes. I'm finally going to do the hit sprites, animations, and states.

Darkest color of the shoes and belt is still shared and some spots on the shoe share with the lightest belt color, Lightest color of the pants has some spots in the hair and his hands(second color of the pants also has some spots on his hands) and there's still some background behind the bottom right sprites. It cause the template is using the default palette instead of the separated one it still acts as if they are separated when making a palette.
Actually, those errors are only present on the template. I must have fucked something up. Let me try to fix it.
Okay. Fixed the template and now it shows the separation of the colors. Since Balthazar doesn't know how to make palettes without visually being able to differentiate colors. =p
Also, we just decided to separate the arms. Shouldn't take long Sorry! Might wanna hold off for a few with pals. =p

Having never watched or read Yuyu Hakusho, I unfortunately cannot help you with new moves or specials intros. A special intro VS Goku Z2 would be nice though, to show that they're compatible and all. If somebody has ideas... :)

-botan is standing besides him, he is eating from a bento box, she takes it away and flies off as he gestures and shakes his fist at her.
Screen goes full black , the battle music from the show starts playing as yusuke aura starts increasing. ( that one that played for instance during dark tournament knife edge fight )
Giant crocodile like ogre roars at opponent, yusuke punches from inside, his hand piercing the belly first, then powering up as the monsters burns around him
blue skinned highschool bully with a knive staring at the opponent, yusuke jumps from behind and knees them in the head, having them hitting the ground as a insect leaves it, yusuke then crushes the insect with his hand.
Sleeping on the ground, botan slapping the shit out of him as he keeps sleeping, botan shakes him a bit , he opens his eyes, she points at the opponent and then floats off.
yusuke wearing his school jacket, he spins and throws it away.
Botan flies by and flips him over into the stage, he falls face first into the ground.
A pile of demons are beating yusuke up, he flares energy as they blow away.
eyeball bat flying around the stage laughing, yusuke falls from above smushing it under his feet.
Monster flies from the screen into yusuke, a hole is shown forming on his torso as he blows up into gore, yusuke is pointing at the player with smoke coming out of his finger. ( similar to vegeta shoot the screen thing )
Winpose
Yusuke is tired, his arms hanging, he starts laughing almost doubling over.
Botan flies by, grabbing yusuke by the scruff of his shirt ignoring his protests as she flies off with him.
An evil insect leaves the opponent body and Urameshi crushes it in his hand.
urasmeshi sits ontop of the opponent and starts reading manga.
Keiko walks by and drags him off by a ear, he has his arms crossed as he is dragged off.

Bit of advice on winposes and intros, try to make them work with as little dialogue as possible, dialogue should be a welcome addition but first and foremost you have a spriter avaliable.
Genkai walks on screen and says : THAT WAS PATHETIC YOU PIECE OF SHIT! and proceeds to beat his ass.
This one for instance, i would have it like,
Yusuke wins, he grins proudly Genkai teleports in front of him , kicks him off the screen, cracks fists, and flies after, there is punching and screaming heard from off the screen as it shakes around.
Hope you dont mind that I am giving you this kind of advice.

I might as well add him since I am trying to do it big so we will see how it all works out. here is the updated sprite with a few fixes the last one was too tall and i changed the shading a bit.

When I was doing the sprite I thought he was taller than Yusuke, but he wasn't that much. Ok here it is! Yusuke's Rapid -fist option 2_ Dash cancel!
This a quick example of how it is gonna look! You do the rapid fist and then you cancel out of it to continue a combo! for example!
St M.p, St M.k, Rapid fist. dash cancel. etc.
This opens big combo opportunity for yusuke and is a part of his main close up game! The dash is safe on block! There will be after images following behind yusuke.When done correctly so you know you can do a continuation of the combo.
More too come! This guy is gonna be awesome! He will have one more option when he does the rapid fist! Stay tuned for that! :sugoi:

Noooo! I am falling behind!
Well Yeah i am. Its not my fault either cause my laptop isn't working correctly. My charging chord is damage so until i get a new charger i am out of it. Yeah it does bother me very much. This project is SOOO important to me :(..I just though i let everyone know....I should be back soon though...Like in a few days... :)

Ok here it is! Yusuke's Rapid -fist option 2_ Dash cancel!
This a quick example of how it is gonna look! You do the rapid fist and then you cancel out of it to continue a combo! for example!
St M.p, St M.k, Rapid fist. dash cancel. etc.
This opens big combo opportunity for yusuke and is a part of his main close up game! The dash is safe on block! There will be after images following behind yusuke.When done correctly so you know you can do a continuation of the combo.
More too come! This guy is gonna be awesome! He will have one more option when he does the rapid fist! Stay tuned for that! :sugoi:
That animation is sexy. great work. been a fan of that show since before it came to states and when i used to play it on the import genesis and super nes system. im curious to see how it comes out with you to tag teaming on the character there.

Hope it is somewhat balance to pots or jmorphman's characters but that just me wanting to extend the roster. Anyways gotta say thanks to you for starting this project to enter yusuke into mugen definitely one of character i was looking forward to seeing in mugen. :)

As far as I know Yusuke will be somewhat CVS-ish in gameplay, but he'll bring new stuff as well, not in the least inspired by Goku Z2 ;) And you didn't deliver your promised new sprites! Finish him a bit guys, so I can make a video for you ;)

I really think you should change this animation, it's literally the exact same attack as Joe Higashi, just with a different head and clothes. It just doesn't look right to me.
Also the blur sprite doesn't really transition between the preceding sprite or next one; the transition it is supposed to provide doesn't work at all. The angle of the blur makes it seem like Yusuke is leaning back a bunch, which makes sense when that blur sprite was used for Kyo's 182 Shiki, as that attack did have him lean back. But Yusuke is dashing forwards, she shouldn't be leaning back!

Well I would change the rapid punch. Only if i could make a better one or, find a better one but that will have to come later cause the animation took along enough to sprite. it sucks that you dont like it. But i honestly dont know what else to go for to make it better. Joe's rapid punch worked so well for yusuke. So what get rid of the blur right there? I will try to see if i can make it look any better with out that blur. But if you have any suggestions for rapid punch for the way to would like to see it that's better then joe's then please let me know.

My problem with the rapid punch animation isn't that it doesn't fit Yusuke (because it does), it's that it's Joe's attack. Yusuke should have a unique version, IMO. :-\

I agree with you about him having his own unique version..In the beginning i didn't want to use it..Cause I want a bunch of his moves to be original and awesome..But My skills were not were they are today. Honestly i think i could make one. But it will take some... I will try to update that move in the future... I have been practicing drawing and i do want to draw some of yusuke moves out on paper so...That will have to come later..But I will put it on my list... I do think joe's punch fits. But it wouldn't hurt to be more original cause originality rocks :D

Well not many of you know this but i am actually working on a xbox 360 fighting game...I am the lead pixel artist! So what does this mean!?
1. I am being paid to do my art! $_$
2. Since I am being paid for my work. I want to make sure my work is worth the amount I am being paid.
3. Yusuke's progress will have to be a bit slower if you haven't already notice. The sprites I am working on are HD Which require a lot more time. So I only have like two days to work on yusuke out of the week now :\. But those days happen to be my only days off..Soo yeah.
4. THIS DOESN'T MEAN that I wont finish yusuke. It just means expect a update everyone one to two weeks.Until I get into the swing of things then all will be back to around the same processing time!.. I really wish i could move faster but i am only human! I promised my self at the beginning of this year that I would finish yusuke. So that's what i am working towards. I just thought its the right thing to do to let you all know whats up...

Also here is what i was working on this week for yusuke. I drew the base on paper and scanned it and was working on it in paint...It suppose to be yusuke straight up looking at the screen after taking his hands down from behind his head..This will be a fully original animation apart of his into. I hate posting up stuff before I finish but...You guys should see what I am working on.
I would like to give yusuke more original stuff as said before..But I have a job that takes up more of my spriteing time. But he will get more stuff like this.Expect more soon! :sugoi:

kickstarter contract
those two things dont belong together, if you are able to create hd sprites that give you investors, you wouldnt need to have a contract with someone that needs a kickstarter to pay you. You could get the kickstarter all by yourself. Paid work doesnt start with you working for free at first without any investment being made in you.
I advice you to talk to people you know that do actual freelancing work for advice. I dont want to sound like a dick but too many artists get ripped off by "internet business men" although I cant say its the case with you. Just talk with people you trust about it.

Yeah.. Thanks for looking out. I talked to Rajaa about it actually and he pointed me in the right direction and now I am getting paid... The contract i signed was a confidentiality agreement. Nothing else really. But I have been working on there for like 4 months and stuff is picking up.I cant say too much about it.. But i am getting paid and i am not being duped or anything. Thanks for looking out though :D. No you dont sound like a dick or anything...I agree with you. I got money in my pocket so I am good.
I think I am doing a pretty good job balancing the things I wanna do right now. These are the top things I do in my free time.When I am not with my girlfriend :P.
1. My paid works
2. Yu Yu Hakusho_yusuke char.
3. Street fighter 4 A.E local Tournaments and Youtube channel.
I am doing a pretty good job of keeping up with everything right now.. But some things I need to pick the pace up on..Like my drawings.. Its so hard to do all the stuff that i doo and keep it constant while trying to get better.. But I am trying. I Promised my self as a new year resolution that I would finish yusuke's sheet this year. So That really my ultimate first priority free time wise.. I am also picking up Persona Arena and trying to get better at that as well. So yeah more free time activities. I have a bad habbit of spreading my self to thin. But I wont let that happen this time!
Anyways back to the intro sprite.. Yeah i put some work into this one..
Here is his first win pose! I drew out the first sprite on paper then moved it on to paint where i did the rest of the editing.
Jmorphman did have a point. Original animations and sprite are always better then editing. Well as long as you got the skills to pull it off. I think this came out nicely...Hope you like it! Next up the power up stance!

Eww I hope its not for who I think it is, but good luck with that. you are gonna need it by 100 folds.
Not bad so far on the animations. Does it have a lot for improvements? Yes. From shading to proportions, but i can see you improve down the line.

I was thinking about adding more of a pop for the full charge. But i just kept it simple.. I am working on the back dash tonight.
I want to add more of my drawings to the spriting line up. Still pretty noobish but i am getting there.. I am trying to draw once a day. But i got busy and haven't been able to draw for a week or two...But i will pick it back up tonight. Its not easy but when i see your works among others i see the possibilities with practice.
I hope to add this dash back animation tonight..then back to attacks. :lugoi:

There's actually a lot of things you can make move to make it more delightful but that's just my taste. Yes, at least move the hair a little to show the force of movement. Also, if you have a camera please don't forget to use that for your refs. If you have one that you can record and look through frame by frame can even be better. Some of the poses are a little wacked, so instead of trying to picture in your head use your own body... of course it only works for simple things LMAO.

Nice to see Rev's FX being used on Yu-Yu. Something about the mouth that i dont like on the shot-gun charge blast. Looks like he doesnt have any teeth. kinda makes it look too stiff.

I thought all you need for Fraps to run with Mugen 1.0 was to change the mugen.cfg? Change the BlitMode from Normal to PageFlip, and the RenderMode from System to OpenGLScreen.
Something occurred to me from the video, when he says "reigun", the way he holds it out makes him say it as he's already back into his idle stance, where he's not yelling anymore....it just seems odd to me he'd hold out saying it after he's already done with the attack.

I just wanted to show a bit of what we have in mind for this character. As time progress I plan on adding more videos and making them bigger and better.
I will make another video when i get the next beta from rajaa.
Also for the video..actually i asked Neocide what does he use and he told me about fraps and then he sent me his mugen.cfg then it work like brand new.

It really helps me to keep on going when I see comments from people who also want this character as bad as I do.
I had fun recording this today so I decided to do another one!

Yusuke will have moves that give him opportunities to throw down some major damaging combos.
Yes he will most definitely have the shotgun! He will have demon as soon as Balthazar gives me a beta for vegeta :P

Spirit gun : df.f. any punch * This attack can be charged*
This a projectile move in which yusuke shoots a blast across screen. It can be charged and as 5 different levels of charge.
01. 1 hit no push back on yusuke and faster recovery
02. 1 Hit and knock down push back slower recovery
03. 2 hits and knock down push back slower recovery
04. 3 hits and knock down push back slower recovery
05. 4 hits and knock down push back slower recovery
The charged can be canceled with a press of a punch button and next time you start off with the same out of power you canceled at. Release the punch you first press to fire.
Ex spirit gun : df.f, two punches
This version has a bit of a slow start up but does cause a wall bounce. Which opens up combo opportunities. Takes some meter.
The first hit doesn't cause wall bounce but the second hit does ;)
I am not sure about the power of the move you will have to ask Rajaa. But it does have slow start up and it pushes back yusuke. Think of akuma's fire ball where he charges for a second then shoots...

My vote is still for Botan being in the intro with Yusuke for fighting against demons, if that's still a consideration. Something along of the lines of her saying "Watch out, this guy's giving off a large demonic presence!", and Yusuke with his confident retort of "Feh, this chump's nothing, watch this!", or "Nothing too bad for this spirit detective", or something like that. Also still like the idea for Yusuke flipping through the pages of shonen manga to recognize who they're fighting when up against Goku Z2 or Vegeta Z2. (Or any other such characters from such manga that I'm forgetting)
For Ichigo he could probably taunt him how he's got the whole spirit protecting the human world business taken care of, amateurs like Ichigo should get lost. (Maybe a little harsh coming from Yusuke, though. Maybe it'd work better as a win quote.)

I did a few sprites well I am only really counting the bottom three. I did those from scratch and the top came from the original base sprite. I think he should be easy to animate but then again I am not sure yet we will see.
I am gonna try to get him moving this weekend. I want him to be able to fly around yusuke's head so Balthazar I might ask for your help or maybe you could teach me. I would like to do it my self... at any rate thanks every one! I am in a mood to sprite his intro and background characters so who know who may pop up next ;)

Keiko's stance seems off. She's leaning too far forward. you need to lean her chest back a bit. I noticed you had the same problem with Koenma. Bodies need to look balanced even in the standing pose or it will just look wrong.

Surprisingly, that makes a HUGE difference O-O'... Nice Kuwabara sprite! :D BTW, um, is there any chance this game'll have the ability, like in Yu Yu Hakusho Makyo Toitsusen, to "jump into the background"?, just wodering, if there will, then It's REALLY COOL!:D

It might be difficult for you to pick it up because you are working with small sprites and I know how difficult it can be when you work at the pixel level. Maybe if I'll try to work with the sprite and try to get her looking more balanced.

I just got to ask Johnny young bosch how was it to work on power rangers the movie xD
I am busy this weekend being a super anime geek at the AWA in Atlanta so I wont be able to work on anything until i get back to my house some time this weekend...I plan on having fun and taking pictures of all the hawt cos players xD
I was in the arcade playing CVS2 I was doing pretty good. I got a few good wins in 10 in a row...not bad at all .
I plan on getting back on yusuke as soon as im done having a blast this weekend so if you wanna help me out with corrections and what not feel free.

I got my new laptop! Got photoshop back and I finally got all my sprite back as well.
With that being said time to revive this topic...honestly the comments and stuff i get from here really helps me up this big hill of stuff i wanna do for yusuke...So Thanks everyone for everything!
I want to say that their will be more stuff coming for yusuke video wise but Rajaa has his hands full with mel. So it looks like until he comes back This topic will be about me posting up sprites and stuff..
I am pretty saddend that yusuke got put on the shelf like that but it will not stop my progress! I hope my voice actor is still around and all that good stuff..But this is just the first message letting you know I am back!
Also I have been working on my drawing skills since my pc was down. All I could think about is improving my skills so Yusuke's animations and such could be the best they can. But yeah That's enough text for now.. Lets see if we can pick up all the pieces. Cause right now i feel like bleh....

Waiting for Rajaa to show up and say something snarky. I seriously doubt Rajaa would let anyone take over where he left off especially since he will be coming back to Yusuke once he does more on Mel. Not to mention you should complete and release at least one quality character of your own before offering to code projects with awesome sprites. Not trying to be offensive but yeah that's my opinion on the subject.

I have that purple star for a reason. Im more of a behind the scenes kinda guy. I dont need to release anything.Just because something was not released to the public it does not mean that I didnt get better from the experience..Its kinda like voice acting..Practice..but youll never be perfect but keep at it and youll get some great compliments and encouragement along the way. I have a total of 7 different characters that remain unreleased..Each partly for the reasons of my perfectionist nature,lack of ideas, lack of sprites,the ability to create said sprites or a combonation of the afformentioned..Ive been dedicated to this particular Yusuke for nearly 3 years now. Its because of me that this Yusuke even has a voice lol. Im pretty sure ive earned the right to have more direct control. Which would of course be temporary until Rajaa is back into focus on the project..I see no problem in keeping the ball rolling ;)

Not because of coding. Every wip you've ever privately sent me was mediocre and needed a lot of coding revisions that I rarely bothered writing feedback for because it was stuff that should've been obvious but apparently wasn't to you. You're nowhere near Rajaa's coding level so if you were to take this over you'd probably slow things down rather than speed them up because Rajaa would eventually have to go back and redo everything you did because it wasn't as good as he'd do it. Sorry if that's harsh but damn seriously stop offering to code awesome projects if there's veteran coders like Rajaa in line wanting to code them. I've seen you do it multiple times now and it's getting a bit annoying.

Well I am done working for that person now and Honestly I want to finish yusuke with Rajaa. I have never said Rajaa WORK ON YUSUKE 24/7!!. Also I was just hoping to get the next update with our voice actor's stuff in it.I didn't want to lose our for voice actor and I wanted him to see his work in action that's all.But I all in all I apologize for all of the confusion and honestly I will chill out.
Sorry guys and especially Rajaa I feel like I have became a whiny person :/ after we got the voice actor. I just didn't want to lose anyone on the team. As especially when i feel like we have a good one. :(

That can be easier said than done. Some people just don't have the brain for programming. I'm fine with graphics and figuring out how to do things graphically but when it comes to languages (including programming ones), my brain just freezes. It's just how different peoples' brains are. I don't see a problem with a collaboration of two different people who love what they do and are good at it.
Anyway, I'm sure that Rajaa can contribute his time when he's happy and able to to keep this Yusuke project going. He's been going pretty full bore with Mel so far and his contributions to the project are greatly appreciated by all those who are all working on the project with Dez.

Speaking of the shotgun I was planing of having it as a charge move so you cant easily spam it every 2 seconds.
Also I am not sure if you all remember this but Yusuke in the anime has this move called the rei kou dan or spirit light bullet in the fight vs jin! he only used this a attack a few times.. But i am defiantly gonna give it to him :D

There are still errors of proportion in the body, which are like 2 different characters from one scene to another. Yusuke's body is very skinny when he gives the punch, like the sprite was "squeezed", mostly in the head.

Nice to see you back. On that animation... It's a little jerky with his right attacking arm, the legs get a little skinnier on the attacking frames, belt area looks like he gets an erection on attacking frames.
I've said this once to you I believe. If you have a camera take a picture of yourself with a similar outfit than take pictures frame by frame. I do that all the time if I end up getting stuck with certain angles on frames before ask for sol's assistance. Even with hand angles.
Nice job and the sprites are improving. Well back to my dungeon to see how imma get myself out this rut that I was placed with.

Nice to see you back. On that animation... It's a little jerky with his right attacking arm, the legs get a little skinnier on the attacking frames, belt area looks like he gets an erection on attacking frames.
I've said this once to you I believe. If you have a camera take a picture of yourself with a similar outfit than take pictures frame by frame. I do that all the time if I end up getting stuck with certain angles on frames before ask for sol's assistance. Even with hand angles.
Nice job and the sprites are improving. Well back to my dungeon to see how imma get myself out this rut that I was placed with.

You can get away with not adding close attacks. That can be included in a further update if you'd like. Keep moving forward and hopefully a new coder will pick this up so you can continue on with other things. Dont get stuck like I have been.

Don't forget that sometimes the kick buttons can give you a punch attack instead just like Balrog/M.bison (the boxer). So, if Yusuke is mainly a punch based fighter, you can make one or two of his kick attacks (close range, far range, whatever...) into punch or energy punch attacks or even something unique that he didn't have in the anime.

About DS Yeah he is still supporting me....We made a bunch of yu yu hakusho bases around the time i made the base for yusuke.
He is working on something.. But that is all i will say about that ;)
Rajaa just had other things to do..It wasn't me holding up the animations or anything..When we were starting out we were making pretty good progress as a team..Just life happens and people get busy
Really I want to do the 5 main characters...But i don't have other spriters who would be interested in that...So its gonna mainly be me taking my. A few people have come and gone over the years. But its mainly been me and my bro.. I would love to make about 8 characters from yu yu hakusho then move on to something else to be honest..
Here are most of the sprites i wanted to use in some way towards the project.
Looking at all that its pretty obvious i have had plans for a full game for a long time...But the key to all of this is the first character.. Then we can build everything else off off that.
So yes I still want to do everything and maybe a bit more that was mention in this post. I am looking for a coder who would be down to make a full game one day...But thats wayyyyyy down the line....

Yeah man thanks for sticking around for all these years man your a real friend! I met you when very first started out spriting back in the "ZGTNew Blood" days. We all improved and helped each other out your like the only people from new blood i kept up with!
Seems like Rajaa is leaving mugen now.
I appreciate all the work that he did and everyone else who helped me along the way as well. This project will continue on though and i will still do my best to bring the best yu yu hakusho chars to mugen (V_V)

Depending on the time frame and everything. If you want Yusuke done this year... I won't be able to help you out with that... Unless, I possibly may be freed up in December. That's a big "maybe" though. If I'm too late for Yusuke, I'd be willing to help with some future chars. Like Hiei and the rose whip guy. Sorry, but I'm very rusty with their names and all. :P I know you've worked hard on this, and the sprites are coming along very nicely. I personally just hate seeing things go undone. Especially if it is something I m personally interested in.

The following are things that are unique to Yusuke and they will make the character more interesting than your average character with the above mechanics!
- Chargeable Spirit Gun with Megaman-ish capailities - Releasing of Spirit Cuffs which will speed Yusuke up for a brief period of time - He will be compatible with GokuZ2 - He will have a training mode option with Genkai because Thanewdude wants to copy Cybaster and Balthazar! ::) - He will have special eggs that are undisclosed for the moment, so keep your eyes peeled for progress!
I'd assume "Shield" is something like Just Defense maybe? Which is superfluous, but, I can add it. Chain comboing can be added as well. Everything else that's listed there, is stuff all in my chars as well. Hitsparks don't particularly matter. Want to use something different then what I use? Not a problem. The core basis is the same, so, I don't really see your point in that comment. Only things that'd really be different is aesthetic things like hitsparks, super finish fx, etc. If he in fact wants something different.

Thanks for the compliment. I can't guarantee anything, cause as I said, I'll be pretty much out of commission for the remainder of this year. Though, as you said, it gives you time to refine and finish up everything. I'm definitely in no rush and you can certainly take all the time you need. Even if I can't personally code him, I can try and help in possibly finding another coder, or by assisting with you learning to code yourself. I wouldn't mind learning what you have planned for him, so, we can exchange some PMs. I'll get around to it. If from what Rajaa initially posted remains the core, along with what you posted you wanted a CVS/SFxT like style for him, I can do that.

Because I thought Rajaa's style was different (for this char), but now that you explain it... and also it's a while since I saw a progress video. Yes, it's a bit difficult to make comparisons now that I look at it. Too bad it maybe sounded like a "no POTS style again", which I sadly intended.
I can't wait for a progress video though. Just to see how it is going (and I'm aware you posted one some time ago, tnd07). But maybe I'm requesting too much.

Everything else that's listed there, is stuff all in my chars as well. Hitsparks don't particularly matter. Want to use something different then what I use? Not a problem. The core basis is the same, so, I don't really see your point in that comment. Only things that'd really be different is aesthetic things like hitsparks, super finish fx, etc. If he in fact wants something different.

Just got so just got done putting the sprites in order for my next attacks. So now I will get started on them and hopefully finish one of them this by this weekend.

Yusuke IS back from the dead! We got hit by a car! But yeah we are back! Need some thoughts how to fix this animation.
Reiki Upper cut; Pretty much like Kazuya from Street fighter X tekken upper cut that went under fire balls and caused juggle state. Also he should actually move foward a good bit.
Also yeah I Just all the guys who were collecting his sprites to release him before me..please don't :D
After we finish him with all of the cool ideas we have for him you can do it if you think you can do it better ;)
More updates coming let's finish this guy off .. Sorry for the wait guys and thanks for the support. Still looking for a coder if interested pm me. Still have the beta and notes between me and rajaa so someone would continue where he left off. Also I'm looking to make more stages as well ^_^

Nice to see you back.
1) If you have improved with your sprites and animations dont do the mistakes i made and just keep moving forward until you finish.
2) I said it before, don't worry about getting a coder at the moment until you are about 90%~100% done. You'll just have the coder waiting around for you to be done with things. If you have ideas that you arent sure if it would be a pain to code or it cant be done to save you time from spriting something that wont be used just asked here.
Other than that keep doing what you are doing. If that last animation posted is recent, there are some fluent issues with the animation though i know you are basing it off of Rock. Remember just because the industry did it doesnt mean its right :D Take your time to study your own movement even if you need to try and do it while recording yourself so you get a better understanding on how our body moves. So best thing to do is get your bases for ideas and incorporate it to your own version.
I cant help you and others here yet due to my own project that i am finishing up but if you have any question ill try my best to help you with it. of course sprite wise lol

I want to add that in the reiki uppercut it should be like this
1.lp doesn't move forward but is great anti air and if connected causes juggle state,safe on block 2.mp moves forward and goes under projectiles but no juggle state, safe on block 3. Hp barely moves forward isn't invincible to projectiles, but is the strongest and causes juggle state, Not safe on block
Ex goes through projectile and causes wall bounce which leads open for big combos!

I actually own every merchandise for this series. Games, Mangas, Blurays, etc. "If" at some point you really did question your own knowledge I'm sure I could be of service, but seeing that uppercut move you did I suppose you may just be going custom? Also man I know you used Joe as a base for that rapid punch, but if possible here is reference for that same kinda attack which more closely resembles the way he does it in JUS & JSV. @Rei Thanks for supporting me and sending those messages on youtube! It help me keep Yusuke in mind when times were tough for me.
I know everyone has leveled up and I want to too!
My plan is to follow what Frernandaz Said and just finish all of the animations for now. Of course I Plan on going back and fixing and added more stuff to yusuke but I do think its important to finish all off his basics first and then fine tune everything as we go along. Reading Pages back a lot of you guys brought a lot of cool ideas to add to yusuke and I want to work on quite a few of them but. I think everyone will be a bit more happy with at least playing with a mostly done yusuke to hold over until the final version. That gives my coder something to work with until I finish adding everything I had in mind for him. Trust me my friend I'm not rushing yusuke. I have huge dreams and I plan on seeing them through. Just think of some them as place holders ;) I do plan on giving yusuke more original moves and animations. You'll see.
Good Thought about the mazoku Yusuke All I will say is noted ;) Will keep you in mind if i need help as well :)

Very good point man and I noticed that with my other animations and this one as well . It will for the best if I started doing that from here on out. Saves me sometime in the long run. I'll give that method a go with this upcoming animation

Also the animation is choppy and the alignment is off. I edited the animation (and added some frames), but I haven't finished it. These are the changes from your animation. - In the second and third frame I edited his legs; - in the fifth frame I made him one pixel shorter; - in the seventh frame I took your original frame and rotated him a bit; - the ninth and tenth frame are his recovery frames, but I didn't finish them. - I changed the timings too. There's still work to do, like his last recovery frames, that final part doesn't look good, it's jumpy.

Yeah, he is still learning just like I am regardless on how long I've been spriting. As for you ND keep doing what you are doing. Do what works best for you but try and look over your upcoming animations and post it here like you have been if you need feed back or have a second or more pair of eyes to pick at something you didn't see.
Another thing I have learned the hard way is to keep spriting the character over and over until you get it right before making a complete character out of it. Idle frame is almost the lead of all animations. get that right and almost the rest will follow... notice how i said almost :D It's a little harder when you aren't robbing body parts from another character where you can base the light source from.
ND draw out a circle as the sun (light source) and place it where you think you have it on Yu-Yu and show us. Don't worry lol even my own light source is questionable. Reason why Sol and I don't shade the same way :P
Keep it up. Once you are done and release Yu-Yu. You can go back to everything and take your time with each frame and release an update for it.

My rust is showing badly now. Yeah that is a definite Improvement of that animation I will finish the edits you made and do my best to learn from this example. As far as standing sprite I Like the shading improvements but the face and neck are a bit to thick to be yusuke's.Also I made that stance long ago its past dude for a update. I will get around to fixing that one I'm done with the last few new animations. I'm gonna go back and fix all the arms and proportions problems that everyone pointed out then add his extras.

Sorry about that I was getting caught up in life man. But now my life is a good bit more steady.. A lot of new stuff happen at once I was a bit overwhelmed but this my goal and dream to finish this character then onward to other stuff! Life is always gonna add new things into the mix. take your time and dont feel like you always got to explain yourself when you arent around. We all have life to deal with on a daily bases and if people cant understand that they should know what the rest of the sentence should had been. Sprite when you can and if and when a coder comes up youll be fine.
