well it isn't bad, as a stand alone movie it's an ok kinda a mishmash from different gits shows and no laughing man kinda like the "surprise" big bad guy. but if you're a fan you might not want to take it seriously just think of it as a homage to the series.


i don't get what steven universe is but i hear the fanbase is just like a cross between sjw and sonic fans.

Fanbases are fanbases, you get those everywhere.  The big negative thing was a while ago, some kid drew a main character too skinny and it got popular.  Bad side of the fanbase delved into your usual "kill yourself" comments you find online, the kid took it personal, did try to commit suicide, and now they're shunned and as collateral the rest of the fanbase as a whole.  There's also the whole thing about them getting upset that one of the people working on the show are "taking over the show's direction" because she's pushing for Peridot and Lapis to be a couple. (The blue and green one in that pic)  As with most things with a fanbase, it's better to just be a fan on your own terms than being a part of that mess.

As for what the show is?  It's magical girl anime King of the Hill.  Or that Dragon Ball/Sailor Moon crossover people wanted for years.  Or an Adventure Time musical spin-off.  Take your pick on how to view it.  It's a little of all the above.


A little bit more on the musical side, though.

Rei summoning Calcifer just deeply amuses me for some reason.


Also this literally just randomly came up from an unrelated source.  Now hearing Peridot's voice coming out of Calcifer makes it even more twisted.
