Don't know enough to give advice on reflections but I prefer the smaller snow sprites. Maybe more of them and a bit smaller still?

If you want to make an ice-like floor then I'd say go with reflections(own personal opinion, but hey its your stage ;P)

Ended up going with a mutli layer snow with different velocitys to give it a real depth type snow it was syn's idea.

But yes there is reflection.

Snow stages sometimes have problem with lag issue if your computer can't handle that much sprites on screen

Use diferent Layers and diferent sice of snow for example this
stage by me im going to release on X-mas

MugenToons you have failed to read that not to be mean i already had it multi layered and i can code for myself its coded no offense ftw + mines a better method.

It just looks like you're advertising your stage i have released a few stages im not new to this.

Not trying to be mean just explaining what i think.

I used 3 layers Big Small Medium and spaced them out well im using a old old computer and it runs fine so if your having trouble running it your computer might need updated heh but thanks for the feedback anyways.

And since you're making them transparent I suppose you can't add much white in the back layers, or they won't be visible.

Other than that, looking good so far.

Actually i used all 3 sizes Medium Small Large and multie layered them then gave them diffrent velocity's in different locations for depth.

My main issue is a pal issue thing im having with a sprite i wanna use for the floor.

Not looking bad at all just judging from the screenshots.

The new mountains don't fit very well IMO, they look like old graphics whereas the rest of the stage is somehow OMG Flashy. :P

As POTS said, little snow is better. Putting them in several layers and giving them various velocities is the way to go.

Also, will you give the snow some sinus movement, or will you just go for some y velocity ?

Finally, it's not so easy to implement, but you could try to add some snow reflection on the ground.

Ill remove the mountains when i was adding them it seemed like a good idea it was one of those moments but when you saw it its like..... ewww..



Anyways as for the reflection do you know how?

And i did do what pots said but i used mig medium and small so it randoms up with different velocity speeds

There falling downward ftw.


Still need to come up with a background rather then just blue

Anyways as for the reflection do you know how?
Copy the animations of the snow in the def file, but giving them a velocity the other way round, and make them start at the bottom of the screen. Make it so that the two animations (the one going down and the one going up) touch and destroy on the ground.
Finally, give the animations different and clearer transparency, so that it looks more like a reflection than the actual snow.

Alo, for the background. Maybe at least use some gradient (and cut the sprite into pieces to avoid color lossif there are too many). Maybe add a sun and lens-flare, not sure it would look good though.
For mountains, maybe the ones from the ice stage in KOFXI.

Its possible to do both by making the floor so the snow goes behind it  and the layer no 1 snow wont matter  because its possible to make the snow go behind it without layer = 1
