I think the Aska sprite is a nice homage, but I'd also love to see your takes on Karai for the sake of comparison. I prefer the brown hair color based off April's palette more than the silver-look, which kinda looks like a color glitch.
Try and make a template for both and see what we say. Or offer an option in the .sff files for us users. I'm sure either one would come out awesome.But Shredder isn't Karai, so wouldn't a bikini Shredder make more sense??

Yeah, I might as well go all the way with it and do as many custom animation standard sprites as I can with them at this point. It's way too much fun to not do them really.
Come to think of it, perhaps foot soldiers could dispense caltrops or other traps: Think of that dude in Samurai Shodown running about and throwing bombs. You also have those multicolored foot soldiers with different abilities that could act as a striker system. I loved the boomerang and sledgehammer soldier.Actually, now that its mentioned, a sledgehammer to the toe would be totally awesome!!

I would have never thought I would say this, but man does Shredder look hawt!! Regardless of what you choose, its an epic win.I too are leaning towards bikini Shredder. Either that or an option via a text file like Kamakaze features with his MvC2 characters.
I dunno, I find Bikini Shredder to bee too much honestly. I've never been the fanservice kind of guy, so I prefer number 3.

Great job on all of them regardless though. I like the Aska one the best, nice inspiration to think on her. Because I had totally forgot about her lol. I would have suggested it if I had thought of it. MBs don't nessecarily have to be teh smex. Take into account chars like Lei-Lei and Morrigan. Their MBs aren't fanservice at all. Though I suppose with Morrigan there's enough fanservice as it is. A cute/tasteful pose/animation works just as well, without it being borderline porn or anything. Not saying Bikini Shredder is mind you, just saying the sex appeal thing isn't always what should be strived for with MB anims IMO. In Shredder's case, personally I'd choose cute/tasteful for him. That's just me though, it's entirely up to you sir. Great job.
