Because Electronic Arts foolishly (as usual) made a deal with Dr.Pepper in order to boost the latter's sales by promoting special downloadable content via codes found on bottles of said soft drink. Now I can't play some determined games (namely Spore) because everyone and their mother in the US are using that DLC, which prevents me from using their creations which are, uhm, 90% of what my game automatically downloads.
Yeah, fuck most of the world that don't know even know what Dr.Pepper is. Awesome marketing ploy is awesome.
So, anybody got hold of one of those bottles and has a code to spare? Just asking.

I assume it's a somewhat tough flexible material. By 2132 everyone you know will be wearing shoes like this! I already completed the shading on the girls so I don't think I'll be able to tweak her feet again without having to tweak several other layers 
But dude! Think of the implications! Walking with no soles means you're going to feel every single thing you step on even if it doesn't pierce your clothing, including nails and spikes and stuff like that! D: Ok it's your comic so yeah I'll stop being e-tarted lol.
Seriously though, the thing that actually makes their feet look like they're wearing socks is that their shoes aren't shoe-shaped. As I explained before shoes are supposed to absorb shock, so they have to wrap around your feet to protect them and not just be there as a coating device. Besides you might excuse your 'huge feet' syndrome as just "IT'S THEIR SHOES THEY'RE HUGE" if you change them around a bit, but that's a minor detail. :p
Anyway, you might want to take a look at this. 5 min Photoshop edit to give you an idea. Haven't put much effort in it so I messed up her heel zone, but I hope this helps.

Y'know, I just noticed that it looks like the two main girls aren't wearing shoes at all -- they're just wearing socks. This might not be a problem on their spacesuits since they're supposed to be form-fitting, but it's very noticeable on their casual clothing. Maybe giving their shoes 1cm or so of sole would help.

Ok, since I have to start making scratch-done sprites for Kira's intros, winposes and meteo attack I decided to put her aside for a bit and started coding what I've done so far on Ryan.
The background you see in the screenshot, of course, is not finished, I've received some good help from Navetsea in making it look better but I'm still working on it.
Anyway, back on topic: so far Ryan is a punching bag that turns into Kira for a good 80% of his movements and can chainwhip his opponent into oblivion. I'll be working on him for the time being until I'll get enough motivation and free time to finish Kira.
By the way, Nnaajj has decided to give a shot at spriting Takanori, so chances are I'll begin coding him as well pretty soon.
Surprise? 
By the way, people that work for long enough on the game will know what the game acronym stands for and who are the SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECRET characters, so take your spot in the team today!
