Jin looks weird cause of the excessive contrast of the sprites and Magneto's eyes are quite small or unnoticable in the source and thanks :)

Jin's is a bit rough, but I understand how hair like that can be tough for beginners. All it takes is practice. As said, Magneto's looks good. Zero looks flat, though.

Yeah the hair was the toughest part and the quite excessive contrast didn't helped me and about Zero well I tried to zoomed in out a little bit but it looked weird :P yep I'm quite a beginner at this

When spriting at such a acale never worry about outlining the stands of hair. You'l go crazy and it'll look bad. You want to convery the sense of volume by showing hair as one almost solid thing. If you understand what I mean.

With Elizabeth I was not so sure about using the lightest tone in her face but I did because the next one is quite contrasting and was looking weird on my own so I could use some help there :P

Elizabeth's face is a bit misshapen; mostly has to do with too much light on the left side (artist's right) of her face

the red lips are the red of her dress so that's why. About Elisabeth I must say that the type of artwork kind of confused me with those pink tones in the skin and the black outlines but I will see what I can do

I like those portraits, but Goenitz..there's something in him that just doesn't works.
Try deleting the upper pixel in the smile, and that long line in the cheek, try doing 2 or 3 pixels line in a drk skin tone, then immediatly under it, a bit of shading with the next lower flesh colour.
I'll try to fix, if you don't mind.

Definitely isn't easy with the colors available. The eyes and mouth are a bit off though.
Tried to edit your portrait a bit. Had to work the colors a bit differently to make it work right.

I must say that Jesuszilla was right... this was a bitch to work with especially for Jin Kyo which use NGBC/XI color reduced spriteset which didn't helped either

... that face... It's... the mouth... and the pixels separating the head from the neck are clearly visible, really ruins any illusion here.
Like I said, it's a nightmare to work with.

At least I did manage to make it resemble the original one somehow, if Jin used the pre-XI NESTS Kyo spriteset it could come better since it uses 5 skin tones :( as you said it was quite a challenge... a nightmare :(

Came out a lot better than my Joe or Iori portraits, that's for damn sure. And Joe's was using CvS2 colors, SEPARATED.

Those aren't too hard to do, especially considering they share colors with the sprite. I'm guessing you don't use any image editing program though do you?

If he wants to do it over, he can using that pic. If it would make any difference editing wise for better results. I wouldn't know. And yeah, I just browse images on Google/Yahoo for pics. It is messed up that somone else tried to pass it off as their own. :-\

It literally means less than nothing, since the watermark isn't gonna show up on the face and Aldo is drawing over it anyway so the quality is insignificant.

While this is true, Snake looks identical in the two games facially, and the MGS1 art would be pretty hard to make a portrait of anyway due to the style.

It's just too damn hard to work with only 3 skin tones on a 25x25 pixel canves. I borrowed a white from the belt.

yeah that style of artwork looks like a nightmare to work with :-\ walt actually did it quite nicely I must recognize for such a difficult artwork, pretty nice :)

I found a quite nice quality copy of MvC1 Art so I used it and well this is the result
I would suggest to redownload DG´s megaman cause it seems DG changed the orders of some colors at least my copy I downloaded recently has that, just for everyone safety :P
Finally a megaman small portrait I could say I´m quite satisfied :)

It seems the megaman portrait may give problems will saving it so follow this steps to use it properly:

Open this image in Photoshop or any image editing program that can load ACT Files. Use this ACT File and load in that image. Save the image as PCX but first make it transparent. Profit

I did Ryu to see if I still to the tech to do small portraits and well the result was pretty nice I think. The Rock was a challenge considering it just has three colors in the skin and is difficult to work with those few colors, the results would have been better if he had more tones.
Not taking requests right now, working on a batch of portraits.

- Edit it using the sprite/character palette's colours
- Profit!
(To do that you should have at least some spriting skills)
You should take a part of the sprite image, mainly the face (you wouldn't make the small portrait that has only the character's hand, would you?).
Edited "sprite" with "image".

^ For the matter spriting skills aren´t so necessary since portraits do not obey an specific lightsource so the thing learning to handle the colors and using the original image as a reference to shade the small portrait, it requires practice and patience thought.
Updated Akari portrait, moved the nose a few pixels to the right and redrawed it:

I at least tried with these one, where the artwork I wanted to use wasn't giga big.
That was only the case with Order Sol. And that small port is STILL not finished... -_-
...sadly, I also can't get smaller versions of the other artworks I want to turn them into Warusaki-styled small ports.
