Do the characters you want to use at least appear in the select screen ? If not, it's because you're not adding them correctly.

It should be an "Out of memory error":

Out of memory error
Error Loading p1.sff
Error Loading p1.def

I'm at work right now so i cant send a picture of the error yet. But Its not the out of memory, Im pretty sure of that. that problem has popped up once a while ago but i restarted my computer and it never happened agian. Honestly I think my computer is missing softwar need to reconize .def and .sff files.

for example a older mac cant read .avi files because it does not have the software that teaches your computer what those files are. but once you download the software you computer can now read them.

so I wondering if anyone nows what software lets a windows 95 reconize .def and .sff files.

also thanks for sticking with me on this and helping me out.

It should be an "Out of memory error":

Out of memory error
Error Loading p1.sff
Error Loading p1.def

Protip: Use the "edit" button so you don't doublepost.

And you don't need codecs to make mugen read sff and def files.

You're still using Winmugen and not DOS Mugen right ?

Try adding characters you know are not ressource taking. For example, go on RandomSelect and download characters by Splode or Sunboy.

Put simple, running Winmugen allows you to use more resources which means you can play and use "heavy" characters and addons in mugen.

It also includes a list of new features, like better transparency effects and new ways to code.

Ive made small progress. If I switch the .sff file of another character with Kung Fu Man I can see that character but only in Kung fu mans's color pallet. which makes the character all black with hints of blue.
