I know that you seek to achieve greatness, but I am curious about what are your plans for the next 10 years to achieve said greatness. And what are your ambitions with this whole Many Ninja moniker? Aiming to become a successful entertainer?
Also, any family plans for the future?

Unfortunately it will likely be many years away still before I likely have the disposable capital to bankroll the idea, but there's been this one idea I've been kicking around since at least college/university about  getting together with a few people I know and can trust and setting up an multi-purpose artist space for working on a few different disciplines, audio and video work, etc. I'd also want at least some of that space to exist as a dedicated gallery, as I've always found the number within the GTA to be limited in nature and somewhat difficult to make arrangements with for showings. Aside from the obvious matters of funding, this idea also requires considerations of exactly who would be ideal to partner with, exactly what the facilities would require for certain artistic disciplines, and location to count a few.

As for the whole ManyNinjas thing? It all originally started as a very elaborate gag which since has sort of ballooned into something else entirely. If I wanted to really make it balloon into a successful entertainment venture, I have to go through with a handful of things: first, I need a proper set of costumes that are unique to the persona rather than being clearly based off trademarked materials like the MK ninjas. I also need to finally decide on a format for the Retro Ninja Gaming series of videos, which is something I am currently working on in the background. The last clear thing is improving production values with some better equipment, some much more refined scripting, and some help in terms of another person or two involved in the venture. I may be many ninjas, but right now I am most of the time a single production staff, and a distracted one at that.

Family plans isn't even on the radar right now.

Rolento.
Despite ninjas being cold hearted killers, why are you so kind hearted? Especially to people who wronged you?
Also, will you ever forgive me?

Here's the funny thing; while a short period of anger might help motivate to get some stuff done, long term grudges don't accomplish anything. It's literally an self imposed act of futility, only serving to burn you out as a person to no gain. This probably sounds obvious, but it sure as hell took me long enough to finally get it to sink in, and I've got the long term markings of a furrowed brow to prove it. Now that I think about it, isn't that something they use to describe Conan in at least one of the films? Maybe that's why I collect so much Conan and Red Sonya material. Hah!

You have long since been forgiven, although that will not change your fate of being chased down by a real life Fire Man from the Rockman series while his music is playing in the background.

Your favorite ninja that is not you and why?
Your most-hated ninja and why?

It's probably not a big surprise, but favorite probably has to fall to one of the original three MK ninjas. The overall design while simple was striking enough at the time to still leave a profound impact, and each one over time has gotten a pretty interesting backstory to them although I can't say I like the direction for Reptile come MK9 where he is more of a skilled but bumbling lackey. I'd also put the classic Ryu Hayabusa high on the list, as I really liked the original Ninja Gaiden trilogy; even still have a boxed copy of the first game around here. As for most hated, honestly can't think of one as that sort of thing never really crossed my mind before.

Why is Rain so awesome?
If you mean Purple Rain, it's because he went from being yet another gag ninja character that could roundhouse kick someone around the world to a slightly more rounded character design that could still roundhouse kick someone around the world. Unfortunately for him, that still leaves him as one of the weaker ninja designs in the game though, but that's because the others have iconic status at this point.

Is Cage the best character in MK? Besides the personality, those cracked nuts must get him up there.
I honestly think the staying power of Johnny was a fluke, considering it was basically an afterthought of how to include a Van Damme character without having him on the project anymore. Just as a funny aside, the actor for Johnny in the original titles also did the ninja roles for those games, which technically means Daniel Pesina was the original 'Many Ninjas' of sorts. Also worth noting is that the original ninja suit color was Scorpion yellow, which may also explain why he's Ed Boon's favorite and the logo for Netherrealm Studios now.

Samurai Shodown's or World Heroes' Hanzo?
Samurai Shodown Hanzo. No contest.

Why is my english this shitty?
Well, maybe you should stop trying to have drinking contests with Walter and use that time to get some more English practice in!

Antz or A Bug's Life?
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. I don't care if it's not an animated film, it's still a better film than both of those half-baked cgi fests put together!

How many ninjas does it takes to kill the Batman?
It's not the number of ninjas, but the quality of ninja in this case. As the Batman's back story has him effectively trained as a ninja himself, you'd need an equally skilled if not more skilled ninja to get the job done.

why is mai the best ninja ?
I'm not even sure Mai is the best Mai. I think we can do better than this. She's basically devolved to a set of boob jobs and a running gag with Andy, who himself is basically an afterthought as well at this point. All that series really pushes now is angsty teenagers. Bah!

why do you always avoid talking about viking ninjas ?
Because you can have vikings, or you can have ninjas. None of this Mary Sue Dual-Classing nonsense!

if you'd marry a  fictional character, which character would it be and why ?
No answer for this. Never really thought about it.

Got to run off to the day job now, so be back for more later today.

Just got back from both work and a mail run, so let's pick up where I left off:

Sid, Billy, Poison or Roxy?
Sid and Billy are nonentities. Go uncensored originals!

Favorite Final Fight stage/level?
From the first game, the factory/elevator platform stage. This answer should surprise no one.

What was the funniest episode/moment in mugen history?
I have trouble recalling anything in particular, but I recall some of the stuff around the ezboard days being at least somewhat worth a laugh.

Which character would you consider the best overall mugen creation and why?
The best in terms of all characters made as a whole, or within my own personal stuff? If the former, I cannot even begin to think of an answer for that as there is just so much stuff I haven't had the chance to try out yet. I actually barely use the engine myself these days outside of specific projects of my own for testing, some beta testing when someone asks for it and SF2NES related work.

Have you ever meet anyone else from the mugen community? If so, who was he/she? If not, who would you like to meet someday?
In terms of people I've met, the one user I hang out with in person the most is Shockdingo, as it turned out I actually went to university with his sister. The funny story about that is that we had spoken briefly before that, but neither knew the other person had an account here until I vaguely mentioned a plan involving delivering a birthday gift while dressed up as Reptile (the gift included a copy of MK9 for reference) that he realized the plan sounded exactly like I had described over the phone with him earlier and we put the two and two together. Any time where I'm doing some event based work and have a cameraman present, it's actually him joining me for the ride. I've also met Mr. I in person, as it turned out we both frequented one of the retro gaming shops in the GTA core.

As for people I'd like to meet, there's actually been several failed attempts over the years for Beatrice to come up to Canada during one of the various convention events around here due to work reasons for one. It would also be swell if I could eventually run into you and Walter at some point, I still have to carry out a promise to set Caddie on fire, I'd be interested in finding out if [e] and Iced are really as insane as they sound most of the time, I've now got to track down Vans and kill him for his Framemeister, and in addition to getting a long overdue package his way, JZ and I have an understanding that should something befall him I get dibs on his skull to chrome plate the thing and make it into a shoulder pad befitting a post-apocalypse. This is just the list of people I can think of off the top of my head right now.

What are some important things to remember when spriting
Well, the Coles Note version of that based on my opinion right now is as follows:
  • You want to make sure you figure out your scaling, style and color usage from the start. The more you have to go back and change things, the less likely you'll see things to their conclusion.
  • Make sure you have some way to look back and see the progress you are making with your work. It's actually pretty hard to keep motivated when you have hundreds of frames to work on, so having some positive feedback to keep pushing you forward is needed.
  • If you can compare the work you are about to do to something that already exists, do so! You'd don't always need to reinvent the wheel with every animation you do!
  • A cluster of 2-4 pink pixels does not a nipple make... I don't care if I wrote that on my website already, it still applies!

In your opinion, how are ninjas capable of throwing fireballs?
Without going into too much detail as that would void the NDA that ninjas have to abide by, there may or may not be a greater realm of power that ninjas and a few other beings have learned how to tap into. The only exception I think I can safely get away with naming is Terry Crews; you think the Old Spice commercials are edited in post production? No, that stuff was live. There's no other way to explain the many twists and turns of his career and just how talented the guy really is otherwise.

Who was the best Mario: Lou Albano, Walker Boone, Bob Hoskins, Charles Martinet, or Ron J-hahaha nope?
Charles Martinet, no contest. He's also the best Luigi, even if that Luigi has difficulty identifying if an animal is or is not a cow and cannot say the word Banana.

Wonder Woman is at the front door. Batgirl is at the back door. Which door do you go to?
If they are there to stop a nefarious plot I am attempting to enact, I'll take my chances with Batgirl. Better chance of surviving, not to mention winning.

If you and James Rolfe collaborated on a video together, what game would you play?
Are we talking Rolfe as himself or the Nerd? Rolfe is a fairly interesting fellow and seems like he would be good to work with, but I honestly don't think there'd be much to work with regarding the Nerd persona at this point, which honestly started to feel forced for some time now although the juggling between episodes and where the movie was starting may have had something to do with that. As for a game, it would likely be something in the classic Shinobi family of titles, before the ps2 games. Joe Musashi is a must.

1S TROLL B1LLY K4N3 ST1LL 4 TH1NG
Troll Billy will never stop being a thing. It technically belonged on the list of things I plan on seeing to completion no matter what, but I didn't want to mention it aloud as I don't recall if you ever publicly mentioned I was the person working on sprites for it.

explain the origin of this ninja gimmick?
The original story is that the first suit was made as part of a really elaborate birthday gift presentation; a few of us got together to get a mutual friend a gift which included a ps3, a copy of the first Twilight film on Blu Ray as a gag, and a copy of MK9. Her birthday fell on the weekend of a fairly large local convention which we all attended, so I thought it would be funny to appear as a classic MK ninja, and I found fabric appropriate to Reptile's costume first. Come the actual day of her birthday, she's greeted on site by Reptile, who hands over a decorative gift box that has what looks to be the Twilight film. Laughs it off as she has no blu ray player... point her to look deeper, where she finds out the box has a false bottom; MK9 appears. Now she thinks I'm really pulling her leg, as she still doesn't have a ps3 either... to point out there's yet another false bottom with a note saying to watch a video.

In the foreground of the video is her brother giving a birthday message around their apartment building. In the background, a ninja dropping off the ps3 in plain sight. Only then did she realize I had been effectively pulling a fast one on her for at least a whole month, getting all the information I needed to make the whole plan work and even getting her family involved. Good times. After that, I sort of decided to try and finish the rest of the ninja color set for costume stuff for fun, and it ballooned to what I have now.

Is it true that ninjas can't catch you if you're on fire?
It's not so much that we can't catch you as we don't find it necessary; funny thing is that most things cannot survive being on fire for extended periods of time. Why bother wasting the effort either trying to grab an idiot on fire or douse them to avoid burns when you can just wait and let them die by burning? Save the fire retarding stuff for when you are on fire yourself. Using ninja gear willy nilly will only result in tragedy like fire tornadoes, sharknados, and WWE film productions.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if that Worbla stuff would be used as a lighter weight alternative material to handle some of the larger aspects of the costume. The shoulder pads on the original were absolutely huge and in the board I was using at the time added a significant amount of weight. If that's the case, maybe I could even use it to some degree for the Soul Calibur IV era Soul Edge I still have the drawn out blueprints for...

Why you gotta be tugging on people's eyebrows like that? That would be painful, sir!

There's also an age gap to consider, but at least at this time based on photos I had to look up as quite frankly I can't say I knew who either were off the top of my head, it appears that Connelly's brows have aged better at this point in time while Shields' have thinned out a bit over the years around the edges.
