I normally don't go moist for Scott Pilgrim, but little homages like this are heartwarming. As well as:

Uhhhh, if someone calls them self an anime fan and hasn't seen Akira then they deserve to die.  I'd say its more of an homage to K9999's character itself(inb4Tetsuohomage) being that its a carbon copy of his attack.  Now while I'm pretty sure Robertson is a classic anime fan, I'm sure he's more in tune with things dealing with sprites.

I'll rephrase myself.  Robertson ripped off K9999.  No homage was intended towards Tetsuo.  He used K9999 to design the animation.
