What appears on the surface to be blatant and shameless fan service reveals itself on closer inspection to be a series of well crafted metaphors about escapism, self-image, and ego.  Excellent visuals, terrific music and sound, and a great story that encourages the audience to think without necessarily demanding it.

I though this was going to be a cheesy comedy staring Owen Wilson and an hyperactive animal. I was a lot better than expected, actually.

Um well the whole idea is appealing, dialogue is great for the two leading characters but the ending is plain jennifer anniston like romantic comedy

Disney did a good job with this movie. If you haven't watched the first Tron movie, some of the movie's references and logic will go over your head.

Alien:
Scared the hell out of me, even though I had seen it several times before.
Perfect movie to watch with a male company, as there are many tense moments that one can use as an excuse to snuggle tighter and closer.

Aliens:
Off goes the horror, leaving only the terror on this action packed movie.
Space marines getting mowed down by hordes of xenomorphs. Good times, good times.

Alien 3:
I don't know how to fit it with the other two.
The movie is good, has moments of tension and a decent story, but doesn't feel quite up to par with Alien and Aliens.
The deaths of Newt and Hicks also felt like a slap to my face.

Going to watch Alien Resurrection today.

All the funny scenes were already shown in the trailer and there wasn't much more other than that. Sigourney Weaver cameo was a bit expected since she has one in damn near any movie that has to do with aliens. Overall, it was okay, but I expected more.

The War of the Worlds.

Second time i've watched it. Don't know why, but I love it for some reason. Oh, and i'm talking about Steven Spielberg's version.

Exactly, what a piece of shit.

Aliens resurrection - nice action flick, but doesn't have the awesome tension of the first 2 either.

If you go in expecting Taken, you'll be disappointed. If you don't expect a single thing, you may actually like the plot and intrigue. I enjoyed trying to come to conclusions with the plot hints here and there.

Alien Resurrection is even worse than Aliens 3. Aliens 3 is pretty decent actually. IIRC the director was under pressure or something and the production was rushed.

I watched Alien Resurrection yesterday.

It has lots of action, but lacks the tension that Aliens had.
I kinda like it. I put it at almost the same level of Alien 3. Except that Alien Resurrection doesn't slap me in the face right as it begins.

My list is almost like yours, except that I put Alien before Aliens.
It has more tense moments that are a perfect excuse to snuggle tighter against a male.
And yes, AVP2 is awful.

Aliens' Ripley in the robot vs the queen is one of my fondest childhood memories, I watched Alien many years after that ... so yeah, nostalgia value FTW
