Like it so far, hope you do some more chars besides those 2.
i love the redesign of the characters in that game but man they look horrible.

(that said you could have just edited the last message to say that everything was fine instead of making another one)

edit: also looking at the idle pose i can see that the right arm looks very weird

That looks awesome.
But I'd better did something with headband.

Post by: Nexus Games on November 27, 2016, 09:23:34 am
some parts of the model covered the headband because of his hair covering some of the headband during the animations

No, I'm not about it.

I'm about, for example, this one "broken" headband's animation. I know, it was in the game, but it could be better to keep it like in SF3- behind the head.

Nice looking animations, but why not SF5 characters? Even better characters that don't have 2d sprites, we can find Ryu in at least 3 styles already.

Anyway, good looking sprites. GL

I think there was a mod that removes camera angles

You could probably run sfv in the lowest settings, everything must be low
and in 640 X 480 resolution and you must only play in the training room
To get 60 fps that's how I run it

Title: Re: SFIV and more To 2D Projects
Post by: Nexus Games on February 08, 2017, 10:11:34 pm
well like 1 hour the crouch was like 20 to 30 minutes
the walking animation is like 25 frames still working on that

Post by: lui on February 08, 2017, 10:15:59 pm
you can cut out some of those frames to fit it under the usual Capcom standard, not every single frame needs to be converted for this type of style
Title: Re: SFIV and more To 2D Projects
Post by: Nexus Games on February 08, 2017, 10:25:01 pm
well he has his starting frames for walking plus the looping walk cycle but his walking back frames would be normal looping frames
Title: Re: SFIV and more To 2D Projects
Post by: SlenderMan on February 08, 2017, 11:29:51 pm
why not follow the number of frames for standard CvS Ryu? meaning every move has a set number of frames. find the frames that most resemble the CvS attacks and go from there.
Title: Re: SFIV and more To 2D Projects
Post by: Nexus Games on February 09, 2017, 12:21:35 am
well i have to make the animations not look choppy so if anyone want to use the sprites to code they can use the cvs frame numbers
i counted the maximum frames for cvs ryu and other cvs characters im pretty sure it's 12 frames max?

but this ryu is around that amount of frames but certain character might have more then 12 frames if i have to do it

I gotta say this is the most accurate 3D to 2D Spriting I have ever seen!
You're doing one hell of a good job with converting to CVS Style spriting! I wonder if you tried out something unique like neogeo/KOF spriting yet.

He's not doing any conversion, no cvs2 or nothing just drawing over the 3D models

this could be a good way to make the gap in spriting much smaller for spriters to convert to CvS style. I support this :)

Same thought here.  Is there a tutorial out there for the way nexus does his thing. I could have sworn id seen one some where.
It would be great for some of us  to join the cause and take to other characters or games that are 3d.  Ive tried alot of ways. Some good others not so much. But this looks very streamlined

Just pm mako and ask if he can post a tutorial for you, its probably similar to what chucho does except cut the legs

Take screenshots, draw on top of them (on a new layer), outlining and shading the frames while respecting a lightsource, boom! You get new sprites.
It's similar to this: http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/97662/how-to-make-an-sf4-character-into-an-sf3-styled-sprite
