Wasn't that a scam?

No.

What happened was the first game company working on it ran off with the KS money, but the devs (the King's Quest guys) scammed the actual homestuck people, the actual homestuck people did not scam the KS donators. After that, they restarted it and either developed it in-house or grabbed a different dev, I forget which.

This is going to be very entertaining.

He's not asking for money, though? The kickstarter he mentioned was for a different project, and it already ended. Looks like he's just announcing that he's working on a proposal and trying to gauge interest.

Which I'm good with, honestly. I love the Alice games.

Aw man, I don't have spare funds to be sending to any sort of possible projects like this for some time in the foreseeable future, but I loved American McGee's Alice and Madness Returns so much.

I mean, I wish the best of luck, but really iffy proposal there, asking for money for possibly suggesting it to EA to consider? And EA, of all companies too?

Though this does remind me. After Madness Returns, probably around the time game Kickstarters really blew up with Shenmue III and Bloodstained and whatnot, I remember he put up a Kickstarter page for an Alice movie about her jumping into other people's heads and adding them to her Wonderland or something to that extent. Whatever became of that?

Thank you, had completely forgotten the name of it. I have to watch it some time, I mostly recall the events of the two games more or less well enough that I don't think I'd be lost without revisiting.

Oh. Looking it up, one of the parts is anime. That weird CGI RWBY anime that I don't like, too. Alice isn't anime, that's for the piles of fan art. Oh nooooooo...

Eh, they look fine, I guess. I'll still catch the shorts eventually.
