I found some Iwai Tradition Japanese whisky. This was my first time seeing it at Spec's, so I was curious and just said "fuck it" and got a bottle.
Iwai Tradition tastes almost like a scotch. They've learned from the best. I tried it straight up and on the rocks, and the ice seems to help bring out the flavors a bit.
I've had Tomintoul before, but I don't believe I've tried their 16 year variant. I've generally preferred Tomintoul over Glenlivet with the ones I have tried, though, so I expect nothing but good things.
