Hello Guild! It's been quite awhile, but I thought I'd post here again. I've been spriting a lot as of late, but I didn't really feel grabbing all of the stuff I've done, so instead, I'm gonna post my most recent stuff. Here's my old thread, for those who are interested:
https://mugenguild.com/forum/topics/sages-sprites-and-animations-146472.0.html

Ochako Uraraka from My Hero Academia. This is a remake of an old sprite I did around two years ago!

Haizea. An original character for a series that I'm planning. She's the main protagonist.

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated!

I'd some suggestions about how I sprite. Here's the style that I currently sprite:

As you can see it's heavily based off of CvS with no true distinction; it's just smaller and prolly less pleasing to the eye. I want to change that, but I'm not sure how since I've sprited like this for quite some time. So I'm gonna try and experiment a little using a sprite that I just made, but didn't shade:

The WIP is on the right. The base colors are just colors from the sprite on the left and aren't final. I want to make sure everything about the sprite in unshaded form looks readable. The main thing Is the face. I'm not sure if it looks good or not. I think everything else looks great, but that may be just me. So, what do I improve? ^^

I actually don't see a problem with wanting to go E-Sports. I really don't. It seemed like a good idea but was badly executed. Also, as an owner of MvC:I, yes it far from great, but's no way 'terrible'. I'd ask why do you think that, but I already know cause others feel the same. Another thing, how is having MvC:I at the main stage an 'insult'? I really don't get that and you've been saying it quite a lot in your posts, but not really explaining it, at least from what I've seen. One more thing to consider, the two month thing for Cross Tag to a lot of people seems like they wanted to get it out to just to cash in on EVO, and the games you mentioned were during a time before Evo actually started to pick up steam, so there is some good reasoning for being upset about BBCTB being in before Marvel.

Maybe I haven't fully understand your posts, but it still seems like unnecessary jabs.

Xhominid, I don't mean to start anything, but don't you think the way you're getting your point across sounds kinda dickish in tone? I get it, you don't like Capcom and their games and you're glad that MvCI got shafted this year, but calling it an insult and the overall aggression in tone in your recent posts isn't the way to go about expressing it. Darkflare pointed out all the reasons as stated in a more calm mannered tone than you did. You're just dogging people out for no real reason. And no, I don't mind that DBFZ is getting in over MvC, in fact I encourage it cause the game is legit fun to play and watch for the most part, even though I think that MvC is still the better game.

I honestly don't know if I should buy AE...

The problems I have with SFV seems to be getting addressed, but some of them aren't either.

I mean, they can talk all they want about combo extenders and extra V-Triggers which only exacerbate the problem with the game that I still have(too rushdown heavy with very little options otherwise) but I still see nothing that makes it actually playing defensively is viable, nothing about the netcode getting fixed, nothing about the frames being changed from feeling too floaty, way too simplistic and no depth to the characters, etc.

My curiosity may ultimately get me to buy a copy...but only when it's on sale on Steam.

I can understand that reasoning. To me, it seems like the main thing that's being focused on is things for the less competitive audience, hence the huge effort going into arcade mode and whatnot. There have been many complaints about the game being too rushdown heavy and the lack of defensive options, so that's something that I feel can't really be ignored. I honestly think that will be an announcement later on before the game's release about the things mentioned about the game's general engine.

If that won't be the case, then I'll just wait for feedback from others before I get the game. I still haven't touched SFV ever since all the negative response it got, even though I'd prolly still enjoy it because I'm like that. I just hope that Capcom learns from SFV and MvC:I and there isn't anymore of these Damage Control situations like this.

Bump. So there's this challenge going on at another forum that's like Inktober, but with sprites. Basically, you make or find a palette of 256 colors, and you use colors from that palette to make your sprites, but after you use one color, you won't be able to use that color anymore for the rest of the month. I thought it was a fun idea, so I'm doing it starting tomorrow. I'll also be taking suggestions on what to sprite, which doesn't limit to just people.

The palette I'll be using:

Nah, I actually agree. I was saying that it would be an adjustment to make since I've been using the same colors for a while now. It'll also help lighten the workload a bit, too.

Thanks for the edit. I really like what you did with the face. The edits on the arms are also nice. I can understand the reduced colors since the sprite is small, but I originally based the style off of CvS, which uses 15 colors not including the background. I can prolly start reducing colors now, but it'll be a weird adjustment for me. The only thing I prolly disagree with is the torso, not the detail itself, but the shape. It's looks kinda bloated to me.

All and all, I really appreciate it. I gonna use this and edit my sprite.

I've finally decided to start learning how to animate, after being afraid for so long. This thread will be different from my sprite thread in that I'll mainly be posting my OC stuff for the fighting game Idea I have here. After I get the required 3 animations done, I'm gonna request to move this in sprite projects.

I'm not sure how I'm going to go about the creation order of these animations, so for now, I'm just gonna do animations that I'm the most interested in.

With that said, here's what I have so far:

Wayne

Base

Crouch(WIP)

The costume for Juri for the most part isn't really bad, but the jacket throws it off. It feels random compared to the rest of the costume.
