Is it possible to have the screenpack be in 1280 x 720 resolution, and the rest of mugen (the in game stuff) play in 640 x 480 resolution?   Somehow I guess localcoord isn't going to do it...

Check the following post out and see if maybe that's what you want...but it does involve A LOT of integrated localcoords. http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=140566.0

In any other case the answer would be no because mugen doesn't allow for window resolution switching.

There's a few things you could probably do though but only in case you have old 4:3 or 6:10 monitors and plan on playing mugen in fullscreen mode.

You could go to mugen config and make mugen windowed at 1280 x 720 resolution and activate the Stretch = 1 so that when you toggle to fullscreen it appears to be close to 640x 480 res standards...but not quite.

Hope this helps.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!   !!!FUCK!!!   I just spent months working on a 1280 x 720 screenpack without realizing that some stages slow down like crazy at that resolution.   Now I have to go through and convert the whole thing to 640 x 480 and it's going to look like shit! sweet. Oh mother fucker.

Thanks for the swift reply, much appreciated.  The info was helpful, but I'm not as much concerned with the look of 640 as with the speed of it. ah shit.  Guess I'll release both resolutions then.  :wall:

1280 x 720 is HD and the current code of mugen 1.0 is not really fully optimized to handle speeds in that resolution...but newer versions of mugen are in the horizon that CAN handle them no problem.

Don't ditch your work altoghether and do release both versions nonetheless like you said...mugen is evolving to fruition very soon and your time put to work will not be in vain.  ;)

HEHE...I too am making a HD screenpack that lags a bit in lesser systems. Its all good, we'll all be saved soon. lol

Wait are you saying 1.1 will be able to handle 1280 x 720 without lagging?

There's no way I'm going to ditch the project, it's just that I resized it in phtoshop and it looks like crap. I'll get over it tho, it's just kind of a bummer to find that out.

Thanks for the conversion proportions tho, they may come in handy.  It would certainly be nice if 1.1 could swing 1280 without lagging.

From what I have read so far from people testing the latest private build, yes...but only time will tell.

Sounds like you will be releasing some top notch quality work. I look forward to it.

Newest version of Crossover Games may have solved my graphical problems.  It works great in safe mode now, tho the program says 'many features will be disabled' in safe mode.  Do you happen to know what features it means?
