So, this is something I've noticed for a few months now, but never really looked into. The issue is, in my left headphone piece, music and sounds play perfectly fine. However, in my right headphone piece (which btw, my right ear is my good ear. Left ear has severe nerve damage and all that so the left headpiece doesn't help me at all), it seems to be missing some sounds from music (as in, some beats are just outright missing, or some beats are louder than other sounds). I am not sure what the problem could be...these headphones are only a year old. I've no idea if it could be the headphones or the audio jack or what...can anyone help or shed some light upon this?? @_@;

Try different headphones, if the problem persists, it's the audio jack, if it doesn't it's the headphones.

Well here's a bizarre thing. I decided to let my dad listen through my headphones, flipping the headphones around so that he can hear it from both sides. It sounds the same to him through both sides so...I'm not sure what that's all about. : S

Perhaps you should check a doctor for an hearing test

Mm...maybe. I've always had bad hearing, but why would that affect hearing out of one side of the headphone and not the other when they're both perfectly balanced? o_O;;

Because your hearing may be impaired to certain frequencies or sounds, but have perfect hearing for the rest of sounds

Hm...that's interesting. Though also scary since I only have my right ear to listen with.

But again, both left and right headphone pieces are set to equal volume, balance, etc. so...shouldn't they be playing the exact same thing? That's what I meant. I remember this happening with the last headphone I had too (though now that I think about it, that was after a lightning storm and my old surge protector got hit...wonder if that actually did anything to the audio jack. Though these headphones were working perfectly for a while there so...I dunno....)

Stereo headphones play 2 different audio channels, not the same one in both pieces.

Oh, I did not know that. I thought it was the same in both sides. Maybe that's why it sounds so wrong to me (due to me not hearing out of my left ear). But I swear that I recall hearing it normally in the right side before! Maybe I'm going crazy? x_x;;

its how stereo works, each side has a different channel to create a better sound effect.

Gotcha. Then maybe somehow I'm just going crazy then and imagining I've heard it fully on one side this entire time. x_x;;

If the song is mono, then the same channel is played on both headphone sets...

Well see, I don't know if a song is mono or not. The reason I brought this up in the first place was because I swear I recalled certain songs being normal, but later on not. But again, that could be just due to the stereo, me being crazy, etc. so eh! ^^;
