yup, it has some steps and stuff, though i did not bother recording a movie of the process, maybe i will some time. and yes, most of it is recolors, as this is supossed to be something fast ( my record is recoloring 400 sprites x 5 palette entries in under one hour).

that's incredible...
and er, nice sprites, your way seems different-er than simple recoloring...but, do you use photoshop, psp, or MS paint(if you say ms paint i will be amazed and awed:P)?

i used to do psp from 2000 to 2006 then moved to gfx gale. youa re right , the chunli edits are not pure recolors, only the change from bottomless to leotard is.

this is really good, there's only a few decent chun lis out there, and they're overpowered and/or dark:P
for pallete ideas, check out the anime of street fighter...dont watch it too much, it was absolutely terrible, but, it has could offer some good palletes

the plans with chunli are similar as to what follows.
~~0) code an accurate sfz version~~ scratched
1) code a fun version, using the sfz sprites.
2) swap the sprites and make a final nude spriteset.
3) code a fun cvs spritesd version
4) swap the sprites for the nude one.

i will most likely use the svc chunli as reference for the cvs sprited. i expect to release two character in the next month so you get an idea on what fun version means.

I originally wanted to do this.. because I liked the SFZ sprites so much but the lack of parrying & dodge sprites turned me off....

dodge shoul dbe, yeah. and parry might be easy. but my current character system does not has parry, but just defense :/.., i could use the parry sprites for just defensing, just like jenet.

oh yeah.... just defense is like parrying .... now why didn't i think of that?... all i would need to do is use block sprites and and some just defense gfx

this is confirmed?... Because I have both copies of CVS pro (on dreamcast and psx) and it uses the CVS style sprites for Chun Li.

It not only takes the SFZ sprites but also adds new ones, making his point twice as void (if that even makes sense).

Unless by "CvS" he meant resized, in which case he's just unaware that sprite rips don't necessarily suffer from it, i.e. TDS' CvS1 pack uses the SFZ scale.
